We thoroughly enjoyed staying with HogHead. They were very welcoming from assisting us when we parked to allowing our 8-month old puppy to run around off-leash.
The parking area was so level, we didn't even have to use our anderson blocks. It was a perfect location too, since we had to run around Livingston taking care of personal things before we headed out to our next destination.
During our stay, we had a few RV projects we wanted to take care of. Unfortunately, we didn't have all the tools needed to complete them. So when we asked about tools, HogHead jumped right in and allowed us to use their tools to wrap it up.
We can't say enough nice things about this couple!
Site was excellent, hosts were great! Close enough to go to Houston for the day. Hosts had a great patio that they allowed us to use, enjoyed getting to know the hosts. Had a great time!
Hoghead and his wife were great hosts, they have a great location that is easy to get into with power and water at the ready.
The night we were there we did not use water as they were getting ready for the big Texas storm and (yet to be known power outage). We were trying to beat the cold to get down south of Galveston.
Ice was coming and they offered to let us ride out the storm with them in their spot. We decided to push on ahead of the storm to our destination. They even checked to make sure we arrived safely with the ice storms in the area.
We also liked that they are right down the street from a RV park (you can see it from their place). Felt like we were sticking it to the man!
We would stay here again, everything was great and sure nice hosts.
We had a really peaceful stay here, and the hosts were very kind, and welcoming. It was a perfect, convenient location for us to stay while I got our mailing address set up with Escapees. Thank you so much!
Every once in a while you meet exceptional people who quickly become forever friends. This was our experience here. Our hosts were super friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed visiting and getting to know them. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.
We had a short stay but this couple was so helpful leading up to and during our stay!
We had a long list of items we needed to get completed that ranged from vehicle inspections, driver license appointments (and tests) as well as a trailer weigh... and thanks to this couple we got everything completed.
Thanks so much!!
The hosts of Casa De Peeler are just simply phenomenal. I was having generator issues and needed to arrive a day early, as well as order a new part for my generator. They had absolutely no problems with either. I ended staying an extra day and a half and they made me feel very welcomed, we sat, chatted and shared meals together. I was incredibly grateful for Casa De Peeler's hospitality and my pups loved to run round their spacious yard. Thank you for everything!! And, Buc-ees was great! I will definitely stop here again.
Very accommodating. Nice quiet area. We just needed a place to regroup and plan our goals for January.
Where do I start? Easy in/ easy out. Great couple who retire in February and then really start living! We were able to visit and exchange information about our travels. Hopefully, we will see them again on the road or Newmar heaven(Nappanee, IN). Thanks again to our new friends! Til next time!
Hog Head was great. It was our first Boon-dockers visit. We had JUST joined and only contacted Hog Head a couple of hours ahead of our arrival.
It was great to have them both great us. Even though Donna was feeling ill.
It felt good to feel safe and comfortable.
The next morning the sun shined on us for the first time on our trip. Our host gave us a tour of their coach
We would definitely stop in again if we are in the area.
Thank you both
The host were great. We were able to get our large rig parked even with the ground wet. My rig length is 69 ft. long and and weighs 44000 lbs. We will be back if they wl have us.
On this stop, we had the privilege of being their first guests for Boondockers Welcome. The area is very quiet and private. Grounds are very green. Hosts are super, super friendly. They met up with us in the evening after arrival for a short discussion about travels and RVing in general. The next night, we spent a few more hours in conversation on the back porch. Good Times for sure! They gave us great tips about where to get our RV inspected (it was due for registration renewal). You won't meet a finer couple.
This place is in the country but very close to the City of Livingston (about 15 minutes if you take your time). The 50A service was especially appreciated given that even in late October, temps here are still running in the mid to upper 80’s. One day it was even 91. Verizon gave us about 2 bars of service without the WeBoost. For over-the-air TV, the Hosts suggested pointing to 180 degrees instead. It made a real difference. We received 44 Channels. Thanks Hosts!
With the hosts OK, we would definitely consider staying here again in the future. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stay and getting to know you. We hope to see you again soon! Stay in touch!
