John was incredibly nice and welcoming, and the location is wonderful! Thanks again!
What a great place and wonderful hosts! We stayed 5 nights, and now feel completely rested and ready to get back on the road. We took the ferry to Seattle, visited the magnificent Bloedel Reserve here on the island, made a day trip to Port Townsend and Port Angeles, hiked in the trails by the property and even bought some great wine and whisky produced here on the island. Our host was very helpful with good advice for tourism, and we had a most enjoyable time around drinks. We would definitely come back without hesitation, and highly recommend this boondock in the Grand Forest.
Lovely hosts and beautiful location. We really enjoyed staying on the island and exploring. Definitely check out Bloedel Reserve if you are there!
The GrandForest is shady, quiet, and secluded. Level RV parking. It's half an hour to an hour to Seattle by Ferry. We also explored Poulsbo and the beaches, it's all great, highly recommended. We would love to come back!
Grand Forest is right at the top for position, ambience and hospitality. If you want to boondock in a secluded leafy spot with easy access to Seattle, this is the place for you. Even if you stay on the island there is plenty going on to keep you occupied. And to top it off, your host cannot be more welcoming and hospitality, including y’all in any event that may be happening. We were lucky enough to take in both the giant rummage sale and an eclectic drum circle. Wish we could have spent more time both with our hosts and on the island. Thank you for a wonderful visit.
This is such a great boondock in so many ways!
First, our hosts were both very friendly and gracious. They were easy to talk with and so helpful in guiding us around the area.
Second, their place is beautiful! It is in a very quiet residential area, very secluded. The surrounding environment is so nice. There are beautiful! walking trails right by their place. The Island itself is worth exploring.
Third, the location is ideal for exploring both the Olympic peninsula and Seattle. We explored both and took a day for chilling in the island too.
We loved it here and enjoyed visiting with the hosts, albeit it briefly.
Very good location, for parking, shaded quiet leveled. Close to trails in the wood, for hiking and mntn biking. Close to ferry to dwn twn. Very nice and cooperated hosts.
This is what Boondockers all about. We love it.
What a fabulous spot to camp in the big trees and surrounded by a regional park. John was a very gracious host, and fellow boondocker. We had a quiet night, and after breakfast had a wonderful hike in the forest on the manicured trails right behind his home.
What a gem....thanks John

John and Suzanne were perfect hosts for our stay in this beautiful part of the world. We timed our visit, inadvertently but fortunately, with the massive annual charity garage sale which offers bargains to the buyers and brings in hundreds of thousands for charity. Wonderful company and highly recommended. If you use a Garmin be aware that you need to enter the forest from the South.
