John is a retired teacher and Jo is a retired HR professional. We live 1/2 way between Eastern CT University and UConn. We have owned every type of RV. We have spent the last 10 years touring the USA on our motorcycle and have recently purchased a class B+ motor home. We live in in the woods in rural north-eastern CT. We have apple trees and a raspberry patch you may pick in, if in season. We put up maple syrup and honey from our honeybees.
Jo is a scrapbooker and card maker. John taught shop so he is handy with tools.
Our rig is a class B+. It is similar to a class C but not as tall or as wide. We may tow a standard pickup truck, drive it separately or tow our motorcycle on a small trailer.
Super nice couple and I really enjoyed having them stay here at FM Ranch. We had very interesting conversations and they were super considerate about not disturbing our personal routines on the ranch while they stayed. I simply can't say enough good things about them being guests here on the ranch. They were my first Boondockers Welcome guests and it was a fantastic experience! I hope they will stay here again in the future.
We enjoyed having Wingerstoo as our guests. Learning about their travels and the places they've been gives us the urge hit the road again.
Happy our paths crossed.
We look forward to boondocking as their guests when we travel east.
Wingerstoo has our highest recommendation.
All the best from Basecamp RCB
Enjoyed chatting and sharing travel experiences. Would definitely host again! Our time was so minimal together due to schedules but would love to hang with them for a few days!
Friendly, helpful and flexible hosts, a pretty and peaceful place to stay, and convenient to town and state parks.
This is my second time staying with my host and once again it was a very peaceful stay! The first time I stayed it rained quite a bit and I didn't get to see much of the area, but this time I got a chance to ride quite a bit of the East Coast Greenway Trail which is not far from their house.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay once again!
Even though we did not meet our hosts they made sure we had everything we need
Before I even arrived, my hosts were very nice and provided information. When I arrived, we talked a bit about boondocking, RVs and their set up. Right now they have 2 options and are working on a third! It is so nice of them to set up their driveway and yard the way they have to accommodate RVs and to host people.
I originally meant to get in some bike rides, but realized what I needed more than anything was some overdue rest and time off my bike. I was in a nice shady spot and the rain brought some nice breezes to cool the days down.
I am grateful for the hospital and welcome I received and am grateful for them hosting me because I would not be able to do this adventure without hosts like them!
Thank you very much!
Hosts are very welcoming and helpful, and the peaceful spots border the woods but not far from town and a lovely park. Will definitely go again!
We spent nice quiet nites in CT, away from the crowds, yet close to the places we needed to visit. We arrived in huge Thunderstorms & unfortunately had many during our stay & ended that way too! Our hosts had just returned from hiking the AT, we had some brief conversations, but would have loved to have visited longer to share more travel stories. We hope to meet again someday! Great place & Great Hosts!
Lovely Boondocking spot with plenty of things to do in the area. I know I’ll be coming back to area and would definitely stay here again with the hopes of hearing more of the fun adventures that Wingerstoo have enjoyed! Safe travels and AT hiking until then.
One of the nicest places we've ever stayed...
