hello, my husband and I own the only store in town on a peninsula in mid coast Maine. We live in Friendship, Maine which is about 10 miles from route 1 then 15 miles north to Rockland or 15 Miles south to Damariscotta. We have an outdoor sink, and an indoor toilet, no hook ups, but we have wi-fi and a safe parking lot you can park your RV in for a few days. Our store is open 365 days a year, 5 am til 8 pm so its not always quiet but its just fishing and salt life happenings. You can stock up on what you need, gasoline and supplies, and we have great food if you are looking for that. We hope to be on the road full time in 2 years time, so we would love to meet folks who have stories, etc to share. we live at our store, in the duplex next door, one of our sons shares our duplex and our other son lives in the apartment above the store, so its a family affair.
my husband makes the best sandwich you will ever eat in your life, i am not kidding. The Best!
we have 2 cats, one indoor and 1 outdoor, but both are being groomed for RV life, hence, that is the name of our email : talesfromthecatolac - we refer to our rig as the catolac - we have a few funky catios we plan on having for our cats who will both have to adjust to indoor life on the road
we are just getting started, we are hoping to hear from others how to get the most out of this RV life
my husband and i both graduated from stoughton high school, 10 miles south of boston, massachusetts, we had a store in raynham mass for 16 years and now have this market in friendship maine going on 18 years!!
We had a fun time exploring a new area and visiting with our hosts! They were very welcoming and have us some great tips about sights in the area. Everything was well set up for our camper- lots of outdoor space and easy access. Our hosts run a delightful general store - enjoyed some delicious Boston subs and other treats. Highly recommend this overnight spot!
Such nice people warm,, friendly and generous with their time and their delicious deli.
Excellent experience at The corner with joanernie. Hosts were very welcoming and hospitable! Enjoyed our visit! They went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and recommending things to do in this area of Maine. Their location is conveniently located in a quant fishing village with safe parking right next to their popular market store, which has a little of everything, including a deli with Boars Head meats, & locally made breads & baked goods. They also allowed us to sign into their Wifi & fill up our water tanks.
If you get a chance to stop at this small town country store you won't regret it. Joanernie made sure we had everything we needed. As Joan said, if they don't have it, we don't need it!
The area itself is beautiful and quiet. Thanks for a wonderful Boondocking experience.
