We are retired and enjoy camping, riding our Harley Trike, family and buying and selling antiques. We go to 8 - 10 shows a year where sometimes we buy and sometimes we sell. We belong to a local camping group. the Mobile Roadrunners. We meet and camp once a month and enjoy pot luck, games and charity work. We are part of Truckstop Ministry in our little town. We have been married almost 10 years. We went to school together and used to hold hands in the hall between classes. Then of course we went our separate ways. We reconnected at the 40th class reunion and 6 months later we got married and have never been happier!
We love to travel and are always ready for our next adventure.
We have 5 acres and plenty of room for Boondockers! We also have electric connections for one 30 amp and one 50 amp. We are so excited about hosting! We don't have pets, but don't mind campers with well behaved pets.
My husband is a retired Barber and I am a seamstress. I love to cook and feed people! He loves working on junk and repairing antiques. We also put our heads together and build many one of a kind items that we sell.
No. We don't mind campers with well behaved pets tho.
We have never boondocked, but we are certainly looking forward to doing that. We also look forward to meeting seasoned boondockers!
We live in Grand Bay, Alabama. If you have ever driven on Interstate 10 through Alabama, We are exit 4. You were within 5 miles of our house. We are a small town, but we can offer 1 grocery store, 3 Dollar stores, plenty of gas stations, lots of churches and some of the best fresh vegetables and fruits around. Especially watermelons in the summertime! We live on the property that my parents bought when I was a baby. We are sorta out in the country, but we do have neighbors and they are all good! We have 5 acres. We have some pecan trees, satsuma, lemon, blood orange, blueberry, figs and Japanese Persimmons. We also have a coin operated washer and dryer on the property that guests are welcome to use while here with us. Needless to say, we love to travel, but we love to come home.
29 ft Toy hauler. We have 1 slide. Sometimes we bring our Harley Davidson Trike. Other times we don't. Our trailer is a 2020. We pull it with our 2012 Silverado truck. We do not have any pets. It will just be 2 adults. We would need 30 amp service and we have a pigtail to go from 50 to 30. We would also like availability to water, but if not available, we will be fine.
We were guided to the home of Tom and Judy by Judy on the phone with Tom waiting at the entrance to wave us down. Although a little tight, the entry to their property is very doable with our 33’ type A and attached tow dolly. A storm had made some parts of the property inaccessible which included the area of the 50 amp hookup. We ended up staying under several Magnolia trees at the side and front of the lush green acreage. Very quiet the entire time. Tom has a very heavy Alabama drawl we both loved listening to. Having turned down an invite to a musical evening at their church the night before, in the morning my request for prayers as we continued on our way the next morning was met with enthusiasm. Although they don’t wear their faith ‘on their sleeves’ Judy humbly offered up a short prayer for us. Wish we had more time with these two but we had a pressing schedule to keep.
Yet again, another fantastic experience with Boondockers Welcome hosts!
A lovelier couple you will not find, warm and welcoming and their place is spectacular Alabama at its finest.
Many thanks many times over for the generosity and hospitality!
we were driving across the panhandle to new orleans and stayed overnight with TomandJudi. they personally guided us to a nice level spot that was very easy to back into. they even allowed us water & power hookup. their place is a short drive to dauphin island, which they recommended, and our kids absolutely loved. we went to sleep with windows open enjoying bug sounds with a great starry sky with little light pollution. our kids played on their swing set as we broke camp the next day. we’d highly recommend them for the hospitality.
Lush green property, perfect weather for our stay. The hosts were friendly and very accommodating. The hosts were kind enough to provide local sightseeing recommendations. We took advantage of their suggestions to see Dauphin Island and Fort Gaines, which was thoroughly enjoyable. It was a blessing to meet the hosts.
A great couple, a great quiet spot, and we appreciate all you do and have done for us transient RVer's. God bless you both.
Our family with 3 young boys only stayed 1 night on our way to Gulf Shores SP, but we very much enjoyed our hosts company and wished we could have checked out some of the local sites. Thank you so much for the lovely time!
Outside of the monsoon rain it was a very enjoyable stay. Even with all the rain the yard was firm. Recommend.
A great overnight stay as I traveled from FL to New Orleans. TomandJudi were more than gracious helping us park and get settled in the pouring rain. Wish the weather had’ve been better for socializing! I hope to pass through again and recommend this stay fo anyone passing through the area.
TomandJudi were the best. They treated us like family and invited us to meet with their camping group at a seafood restaurant for delicious food and great conversation. They are prime examples of what makes BW so great! It's a half hour from downtown Mobile and we got the chance to enjoy the country life and explore Mobile. At the Mardi Gras Carnival Museum we learned the Mobile was the first to have the Mardi Gras Carnival and still has it annually. The USS Alabama is a must-see as well!
We hope to see TomandJudi again!
We had a wonderful time in Grand Bay, close to Dauphin Island where we spent a day at the beach. Tom and Judi were more than gracious. We had a great spot for the rig with good hookups. We would definitely recommend staying here. Be sure and ask them about Fast Track!
We were only here for one night, but felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
I loved this stay. The hostess and I had time to talk, and I found she is a very generous woman who cares deeply for others.
Such a nice piece of property for hosting!
We weren't able to get a lot of time to talk due to the one night stop over. Very helpful and accommodating couple. Sure enjoyed and appreciated the southern hospitality.
Accessible location just a few miles off the interstate. We will definitely keep this site and hosts in mind the next time we are passing through.
Tom and Judi are the epitome of perfect hosts: friendly, helpful, and generous people.
It was our first Boondockers Welcome stay and what a positive way to begin!
Tom and Judi were awesome!
They met us at the end of the driveway and led us to our spot and we had a nice chat with them. Laundry on site was an added bonus. It rained a ton while we were then and we ended up getting stuck in the mud and Tom rescued us!
Would definitely stay again.
Thank you T&J!
Tom and Judi were great hosts. They got us settled in, then came and visited around the campfire (propane).
Unfortunately our visited was only one night, but we would have liked to visit longer.
We really enjoyed our stay at this host. We would stay here again when in the area.
Sorry forgot to put a reference. Thank you for the hospitality. Very gracious kind hearted couple. Stay under God's word. We are home and couldn't make it back. Maybe on the next journey out we can stay again. God Bless you and your family.
We were welcome warmly upon our arrival
And assisted in setting up. The hosts are a fun loving, caring couple who made our stay most enjoyable. There are many things to do in the area.We reccomend staying Come on Down for a enjoyable stay!!!!
The site was fantastic, very quiet and clean, the hosts were excellent! Judi met us out front by the road after I missed the turn initially and had to go around the block. We were able to visit Dauphin Island and take the ferry to Gulf Shores. Fantastic visit!!
Great hosts who are kind and welcoming and debited to helpoing others.
Southern charm and hospitality! Charlie and I were greeted warmly when we arrived and TomandJudi made sure we had everything we needed during the unusual cold and wet weather.if you're traveling close by, you won't be disappointed. They even have a coin operated, reasonably priced, washer and dryer available for boondockers!
We arrived in late afternoon during a recent cold snap. Our hosts met us upon arrival and were helpful getting us settled. They seemed like really nice folks. We didn’t have much of a chance to visit as it was late, cold and, you know, that covid thing.
This was a great place to spend the night and we really appreciated being plugged in on cold night. We would definitely stay here again.
TomandJudi were great! Very nice couple!! They allowed us to park our 35 ft. Class A with 20 ft. trailer attached in their yard. It's nice and quiet where they live and we got a good night's sleep.
Be aware that you must navigate a dirt driveway with large holes and ruts to get to the grassy parking spot in the back.
TomandJudi stood outside and guided us into the spot which was a big help!
Loved our time here at TomandJudi! We were welcomed upon arrival and shown to our spot! We didn’t explore too much as were working. Loved meeting you all, and thank you for opening your homes to us!
So grateful for the warm welcome and peaceful night. There were lots of birds at this site and a sparrow thought he found a mate in our side mirror..He made quite a ruckus. The bluebirds and cardinal were delightful.
Come on down to South Alabama has a great setup for BW guests. They have 50amp available w/water if needed which we took advantage of for the 5 days we we're there. There are even coin operated washer/dryers available. The location also ample space for others who do not need to hookup and all of the space is big rig friendly. We were greeted by the hosts upon arrival, escorted to our parking spot and offered any assistance we might need. Would recommend this host to anyone traveling through the area.
Thank you for the hospitality. And the church stuff. Handed some out already. Safe travels ahead
Truly a special visit! We felt like family coming to stay. We were greeted so warmly right from the start and loved getting to know our hosts. They gave us some great ideas of things to see in nearby Mobile and we had such a great time. Thanks so much!
TomandJudi were very welcoming hosts. Definite southern hospitality at its finest. Wish we could have spent more time with them. Will definitly visit again!
Lovely couple who met and welcomed me at the driveway. Very easy to get in and out. Will definitely stay again if ever traveling through.
Our camp hosts are wonderful people who love serving others. They gave us a warm greeting as they met us at the end of their driveway guiding us in to position. We got a great night of sleep - very quiet area. We snuck out quietly in the morning and didn't want to disturb them, so we want to give a big thank you to them from us. Hopefully our paths will cross again in the future. God bless you both.
I missed the drive way and had to go down the road to make a turn and came back and their grandson was waiting for me to make sure I didn’t miss it again. Nice fairly level area with power and water. Really nice folks who said they have been busy with BD’s since joining BW.
Easy in and out with lots of space to maneuver. Hook ups a bonus as well. Plenty of things to do in the area. It was great getting to know these people and hearing about all of the charitable endeavors they are involved in other than hosting travelers. Just like every boondocker host we have met so far, these are the most generous and giving people you will meet. We loved the peaceful setting and the warm hospitality. Thanks and we will surely see you again.
Didn't get to speak to the hosts very much after the day we arrived, however TomandJudi were there to welcome us and show us where to park, where to plug in and showed us the laundry if we needed it. There grandson even cut down a limb that was kind of low at our parking area. TomandJudi told us different sights to see in the area. The epitome of southern hospitality. Great hosts, would definitely recommend. We also asked to stay one more night and our hosts couldn't have been more gracious.
We were greeted and personally escorted in for our brief overnight stay. There was ample space on their five acres for our 40’ bus and 20’ Jeep toad. We had evening plans in the area but would have liked to kick back and get to know this couple better. We really appreciated the stay at this quiet location with a cheerful friendly host.
Because of our size we disconnected our toad and visited before bringing the coach. TomandJudi warmly welcomed us and showed us options for parking. We did not need the hookups they can provide so parked near the second driveway (the best). We explored the area a bit but really just relaxed and enjoyed the much needed downtime. Dark country area perfect for stargazing at night. We will definitely return when in the area again!
Quick overnight, spoke with the hosts briefly. Many different homes on the property. Driveway is unmarked would suggest calling the hosts prior to arrival to clarify where to turn in to property
Great great people. We loved them so much. We only regret not being their guest longer because of future engagements.
This was our first BW stay and it will be hard to top! TomandJudi were very hospitable! The spot was quiet and level, hook ups were available if we needed them. The only thing negative I can say is that, since Judi made us homemade persimmon bread, we are now addicted and will probably never find it as good as hers!!! ☺️
Awesome stay with Come on down to South Alabama. We arrived and driving in took out a cable due the height of our rig (13.5'). Didn't phase hosts a bit. We were directed to a location, got parked and easily setup. (FYI, they have a second entrance with no height restrictions that we used for our exit). The hosts are super welcoming and very hospitable. We cut our stay short due to Hurricane Zeta but hope to come back again next year and stay a little longer in order see some of the sights around Mobile and the Gulf Shore.
TomandJudi are truly a blessing. We thoroughly enjoyed are stay and their hospitality. More than met our needs.
We're just plotting now how and when we can return.
This was our first experience with BW and it was fantastic! The Judi and Tom are wonderful and welcoming. They have a beautiful place and made us feel like old friends. This is a great place to stay.
Yesterday was our VERY first everything !!! Traveled from mid Florida to pick up our trailer in Mississippi. YAHOOOOO. Our dream came true. Tom and Judi are the nicest, down to earth people I (Marcy) personally have met in a long time. Super helpful advice. Might even consider doing an anniversary there next year. Hopefully they will have a spot for us. Thanks for making us feel welcome.
Enjoy your adventures !!!!!!
Very nice stay. Tom and Judy were great. Nice place, Tom even road me into town to the hardware store for a part needed for our coach. Above and beyond what we expected. Thanks again Tom, & Judy.
Expect back agsin🤗
We had a tire blow-out and were not able to keep our scheduled stay here. This host was very sympathetic and understanding. I do hope we can stop my here someday on future trips in their area.
