We love animals and nature and all things outside. Our 20 acre farm is really just a big pet habitat. We foster animals for our local animal shelter and volunteer when we have time. If we are not here it's because we are in the mountains camping, hiking or riding atv's.
We've owned an RV for 10 years so we know a fair amount about camping in a trailer in the woods off grid. We know a bit about the area, hiking trails, local attractions and enjoy beer and wine tasting so we can makes some recommendations for those things as well. We've lived in this area for most of our lives. We've also done a fair amount of hiking in National Parks and other beautiful places around the country as well as one awesome trip to Switzerland.
Dogs, cats, horses
Winnebago Intent Motorhome. Currently not towing anything. Has slides on both sides.
The amazing women who run 5H-Ranch are not only perfect hosts, they are also perfect guests. They were a wonderful addition to my New Year’s weekend. They brought their incredibly well behaved dogs and a great sense of adventure. They were super helpful in providing tips on how to improve future guest experiences at Rockey’s Roost. If they request a stay at your location, be sure to say “yes!”
Although we did not get to meet in person it was great chatting on the phone. You are welcome anytime!
I had driven a long way and was tired and hot and hot and wow, I was warmly welcomed and immediately hooked up to water and electricity!
Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your space and outside backyard, along with your sweet puppies.
You’ll really enjoy the peace and quiet in this lovely space!
We can't say enough good things about our hostess. We were late checking in due to road trouble and she not only provided us names and phone numbers, but called back and texted to make sure we were ok. It was a delight to finally arrive and just enjoy the view with a glass of wine. We found the folks in this area to be warm and friendly and would definitely come back again.
This area is awesome!! Electric provided and much hospitality as well. We love it here and would come back
This boondocker host was very helpful and accommodating. She helped us get set up on a very hot day. There were great views in all directions. It was a pleasure sharing RVing and road stories.
Couldn’t have been easier. We had a wonderful quiet, level, grassy location to spend the night. Water and electricity provided at no cost. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again.
5H were very gracious hosts, offering free hook ups. The site where we parked had a beautiful view of both the sunset and the sunrise. They also gave suggestions for where to eat and we had a great dinner in Pendleton at OMG! If you are gluten free OMG has a gf bun and a delicious gf dessert! If we are in the area again we would definitely stay with 5H!
We were first-time boondockers slipping in before sunset. We could not have been more grateful to 5H acres for a gorgeous view and friendly welcome. Wendell Berry fans, this is quite a spot at sunset. Painted horses graced our breakfast view and a gorgeous old tree. Thank you 5H Acres!
This was a great place to stay. Great communication throughout, great tips for towing from out host! M took out time from her busy day to greet us! Beautiful views and an AMAZING sunset!
Super host, very nice level grass spot. Have a 37 foot with tow and had lots of room.
We lucked into a great adventure thanks to this kind host!
We were just passing through and we’re really taken with the Baker / La Grande area on our way to the host. And mentioned how much we wished we had booked longer to explore had we known.
Not only did they accommodate us, but gave us route recommendations, a heads up for a great little ice cream shop and we found a hot spring near Ukiah.
The offered us more amenities than we took, and we’re beyond gracious. We enjoyed the conversation, the views, and the ease in and out.
So glad we had such a surprisingly good time on what was supposed to be an overnight pass through.
Our hosts at 5H-Ranch were amazing. Right from the time we first contacted them to the end of our stay. Upon arrival they met us and gave us several options of where we could park. While we were there our little dog became ill and they were very helpful in his recovery. The beautiful sunset and a quiet morning on the farm was just what we needed after traveling for several days on the road. We will be sure to request another stay if we're in the area and they are welcome at our host location in upstate NY anytime. Thanks!
Gorgeous property with plenty of room to park. We arrived and the hosts were super helpful in finding a good spot for us to park for the night on their property. They recommended some places to get dinner from, (Oregon Grain Growers is amazing!!) and our boys enjoyed running around their property that evening. Thankful for sweet hosts like 5H Ranch that make travel days a little less exhausting.
5H is a great place to stay. Off the beaten path and great for your furry family members. We shared a bottle of wine with the hosts. Great people who are fun to hang out with. We stayed with them last year as well.
Definitely one of the most peaceful stays! Hosts made us feel more than welcome and so helpful with directions. If I could I would beam us with RV here every so often for the quiet and beauty. Thank you for sharing your property with us!
5H Ranch was such a pleasure. We only stayed overnight however we would’ve loved to have stayed longer. Real hospitality! Beautiful view! Hope to stay here again.
We had a wonderful time at 5H - ranch. My family stayed overnight. It's a beautiful location on a beautiful farm with amazing hosts. We would definitely love to stay again!
What a great ranch and wonderful, attentive hosts! We were able to spend 2 nights in the middle of a long road trip and the 5-H ranch was the perfect spot to relax and take in all Gods beauty. Located off a private road with easy in/out access. Close enough to town to drive in for a great burger but return to the quiet. Multiple parking choices on grass or gravel. Our dog was able to run free in the pastures. We even got to play with their foster puppies! We will for sure stay again if In the area.
This home is always a great place to stay. We had muggy weather while we were here but enjoyed the view with hot cups of tea. This host is amazing and they are super wonderful people.
Got in later in the evening and our host was right there to get us settled in. This was our first Boondockers Welcome and the beginning of full time RVing. Thank you!
Our gracious hosts provided ample space for us to rest our heads for the night, and allow our puppy space to run and play.
The property is very quiet, and we would be happy to stay here again.
A HUGE Thank You to our amazing hosts!!
Wonderful place to stop. Our host was great and the sunsets were amazing. Would definitely go back again.
Set in a beautiful farm area which was nice and quiet. Our host was very helpful with open communication about our arrival and where to park. Large level gravel area to park. Good Verizon service.
We had such a great time staying at the 5H Ranch! For me, the highlight was hanging out with the friendly horses and cows, while our dogs raced around the enclosed yard.
The hosts headed out on their own RV adventure right after we got there so we didn't spend much time with them. But they were both really welcoming. Hoping we can go back for another visit when they'll be home because they seemed really cool : )
Thanks to 5H-Ranch for accepting us in such a short notice. They were both friendly and very accommodating. We appreciated our small talk and all the great tips 👍🏼 Perfect view of the rolling hills! We will definitely stay here again. Take care!
All the boxes were checked with these hosts. Good communication, friendly, easy to find and convenient, beautiful area with amazing views, quiet & peaceful. Lots of room to relax.
We thoroughly enjoyed our night of rest! Our host was most gracious and accommodating. Even though we did not need anything, knowing it was available was a blessing.
The gravel road in is quite easy. We have a 39' fiver pulled with a 1 ton dually. No problem whatsoever!
We enjoyed the view of the farmland and mountains out our "back window." We look forward to returning as soon as our travels bring us this way again!
We had repair issues on our Motorhome. A late afternoon start. Which made it a late arrival.
Our host were so gracious and encouraging. They live in the country and it was very dark.
Our host stood outside with a flashlight guiding us in.
After a trying week of repairs it felt like a bit of heaven under a beautiful star filled sky. .PERFECT.
Great overnight stay at a beautiful ranch property near Pendleton. Quiet and peaceful and Marilyn was a gracious host.
Friendly host and a great location on a horse ranch! Well cared for ranch 8 and a beautiful view across the countryside. Site was level and easy to access. Thank you for the night of rest!
We got a late start due to minor RV issue and weren't going to roll in until late at night. 5H-ranch was great in offering advice and giving us suggestions in case we needed to pull over before getting to their place. Because it was so late, we went with one of their options and didn't actually get to stay there. But next time we pass through, we will definitely stop here - very hospitable!
We can't say enough wonderful things about 5H-Ranch! We orginally were going to stay April 5th but due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to. They were willing to let us stay once we got back on the road even if they were full. We finally got back on the road Thursday, we reached out to the Ranch and they were more than willing to let us stay. Once we arrived they were nice, accommodating and friendly. They allowed our kiddos to run and play in their grassy field, feed their horses, she even brought apples out so our kiddos could give them a treat and pet their dogs. We loved the peace and quiet the Ranch offers along with the beautiful sunset. It was wonderful to let our kiddos run free and wild for the short time we were there. If we are ever in the area again we will put in another stay request 🙂
Lovely farm, host and pets! Made sure I had a great spot out of the possible wind gusts of 30mph (didn’t end up being that bad). A quiet spot with great views, had a nice chat and a good nights sleep. Can’t ask for any better than that. Thanks so much!
The views are beyond words. We always look forward to staying here.
The hosts are super nice. We needed a place to stay during a sprinter trip and fell in love with the views. First chance we get we would love to stay for a full four days. Thank you so much.
Communication was beyond amazing! Our hosts kept us up to date with the weather and road conditions because we were going over a mountain pass. The parking situation was an easy to navigate pull-through. We were kindly offered a 15amp hookup.
5H-Ranch was the best possible choice for my first BW stay. I was warmly greeted upon arrival and directed to a spot where I had a beautiful view from every window. The hosts provided recommendations on good hikes and their favorite takeout locations in town (no indoor dining due to COVID-19 restrictions). They provided options for 15 amp electrical and fresh water hookups. The hosts were fostering puppies and encouraged me to play with them during my stay. On my last night they joined me around my fire ring for a socially distanced outdoor chat. It was a wonderful experience and I hope they will visit my property in the not too distant future.
Great hosts! Very kind and generous with the space. They were looking after a new litter of puppies, and let us play with them. (Which we did for hours, probably). We had a wonderful stay :-)
These two women are amazing! Hard working with huge hearts! We felt so relaxed!! Wished we didn’t have a prior commitment or we would have asked to stay a day longer. They were fostering 7 adorable puppies. Good thing they were going to be big dogs or we would have stayed to adopt.
We plan to stop on our way back north in the spring.
Excellent Host, met us on arrival and offered several options to park and hook up our power and water. We stayed a day longer which the host offered to us allowing us to make another trip into downtown Pendleton and enjoy the sites. Very quiet and peaceful location and short ride into downtown or to the Indian Casino.
What a wonderful stay we had at 5H ranch. Our hosts really treated us as special guests. There was a wind storm expected so our hosts kindly parked us next to a building so that we wouldn't incur any damage. It was a perfect spot. The views from their ranch are amazing. Pendleton has some great history to explore. During this time with COVID unfortunately some things were not open. Oh and shopping at Pendleton Mill was a treat. Expensive, but a treat nonetheless.
We highly recommend 5H Ranch.
We had a FANTASTIC stay at 5H Ranch! Although I worked during the day, we were able to chat with our hosts a bit one evening (at a distance) and enjoyed several glorious sunrises and sunsets during our stay. We got off to a rough start leaving our destination and had to postpone our arrival date, when we communicated that with our hosts at 5H and they were very flexible and understanding with our situation. Site was level gravel and we had no issue turning around in our rig to park! Would 100% come back to chat and stay with 5H!
We were fortunate enough to be the first guests to stay at 5H-Ranch. We had amazing hosts. We had a great time our sharing travel stories and interests over a bottle of wine. Our pup had a good time playing with theirs as well. We highly recommend this stay.
5H-Ranch accepted our stay and we were looking forward to meeting them. They contacted us the day before our arrival warning us about a wind and snowstorm that was going to hit their area. They provided a lot of information for us and even sent us information about places to stay that would be beyond the storm. We wisely choose to heed their warning and traveled farther to avoid the storm. Thank you so much for your efforts to keep us safe! We look forward to meeting you on our next trip through the area.
