We are parents of eight children (four already grown and no longer living at home). We adopted our last four kids (boys) from China, all school-aged upon adoption. Because of their unique educational needs, Sandy quit her job as a college professor in order to homeschool the kids. As part of our homeschool curriculum, we traveled across America in our 26 foot travel trailer May 2015-June 2015. We boondocked whenever possible, and we LOVED experiencing "real" America. We have four dogs, and once a year we breed Goldendoodle puppies. We do not smoke, but we do like to cocktail sometimes. I know that sometimes people think that Homeschoolers are all conservative Christians, but that simply is not true. Our family is comfortable with diversity and all alternate styles of living, and welcome anyone who brings me wine!! The family photo attached includes two of the kids that will NOT be with us because they are in college now.
I can put on a meal for 50 with an hour's notice!! I have my Masters in English literacy and am certified to teach in NYS.
Our teenager (age 16) is almost done with two AAS degrees in Web Design and Computer Information Systems. He can also fix stuff, drive an excavator, bobcat, log splitter etc.

We stayed one night with the Peters family and wish we had been able to spend more time with these wonderful people. We were their first Boondockers, but certainly won't be the last. We were lucky enough to share a delicious meal with the family and sat around a pit fire while their talented son played his guitar and sang. John taught the four boys and their dad how to throw a boomerang. We feel extremely privelaged to have met this amazing family and hope to stay with them again some time in the future.
