My wife and I are both retired. We live in a rural area of northwest Florida (the Panhandle) within 45 miles of the Gulf. We are Christians and enjoy attending church with family and friends. I hunt, fish, and garden. My wife enjoys fishing, gardening, and painting. While we have traveled in the US a good bit, we are new to RV traveling. We look forward to this new activity.
I have some knowledge of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, farming, hunting and fishing. I usually repair most things around our home and farm. I do not repair major issues on our vehicles, but can do general maintenance as needed.
1 outside cat who does not travel.
None at this time as we are new to RV traveling.

Our stay with the Hobos could not possibly have been any better. These hosts would rate 50 stars out of 10.
Our camper location was level and also private with blooming azaleas for our view. We so appreciated full hookups.
Our hosts invited us to share a delicious home cooked meal with them the evening of our arrival. Our time together was full of laughter and discussions about our travels.
We loved our stay and love these new friends!
Great location for a quiet nights rest with full hookups. The hosts were both so lovely and nice to chat with in the evening and the morning! We would love to stay with them again!
Easy in for big rig and plenty of room to turn around and back into site. We had 30amp electro. And water. Also a sewer connection if need to dump 👍🏼
We had AT&T cell signal, hot spot was a little spotty but still worked. Worth it to stay here if passing through the state!
We absolutely love this sweet and kind couple. They made us feel immediately welcome and comfortable. They were both raised in this small community so they were a wealth of information about its history. They are the kind of good people that we plan to stay in touch with.
To begin with, the day we were to arrive was a very trying day indeed. We came upon three separate accidents, all happening just minutes ahead of us, the final one causing a 5-1/2 hour delay. I kept The Hoboes informed as to our progress, but they even reached out at one point to make sure we were ok. Finally the interstate cleared and we were on our way. Within about 1/2 mile of the Hoboes’ home, I hit a deer. I was quite fortunate that I didn’t hit her head on, it was more as if she had hit me. I kept on driving because we were exhausted at this point. When we arrived, even though it was late, Our host actually got into his truck and went and checked on the deer. You will be happy to know I must have just stunned her. She was “asleep” in the ditch and when he approached her, she got up and ran away. Hopefully she will live to tell the tale!
We met our hosts the next morning. Spent just a little while chatting as they had plans. They told us about the land and the walks we could take, etc. What a nice and peaceful spot they have. They have provided all hookups and we were able to get level without the use of any legos! We walked the property and the woods, went down to the creek and then explored the surrounding area via car. But we went back within a couple of hours and just simply enjoyed the peace and quiet.
After dinner we were invited to join Our hosts and had the most wonderful and entertaining time reminiscing with one another about our childhoods and similarities even though we were separated by a few years and many miles. By the time we said goodnight it felt as if we had known them for years.
Before we parted they dropped by on their way to church with a parting gift that I will cherish forever. It made me cry with joy and gratefulness. When we said goodbye it felt like we were leaving family.
This was our very first experience with BW. And although the journey there was a little rough, it truly could not have been better. Thank you Hoboes. You have friends for life.
This was such an excellent and relaxing stay. Home Of the Hoboes made me feel like I was a part of their family right off the bat. After I pulled in and got set up, I was invited to dinner and ate some of the most delicious venison chili I've had! After dinner, we talked for hours, and even broke out some guitars and did a little fingerpicking! The icing on the cake was receiving a venison backstrap for my travels!! I'm always grateful for such accommodating hosts and you better believe I'll be stopping by again when I come back through.
Thank you Home of the Hoboes for your generosity!!
The best place we have stayed, completely treated like family. Shared meals and so very accommodating, will definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful visit. Directions were concise, accurate, and easy to follow. Great host. Plan to go back in the future. If the rest of our bdw stops are half as good as this was, they will be great.
The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We’ve shared meals and have had some nice conversations. There is some private land in the family down the road that offers some nice walks in the woods. A great place all around and close enough to Crestview where you can find stores, restaurants, etc. Highly recommended.
