Sue is a retired RN. Rick still works some doing consulting work and serves part time in a church.
Have traveled somewhat extensively to various continents. We take folks to Israel on tours.
Rick used to deliver RV's for an RV dealer friend and gained experience in various types of RV's. Decided class A was what we hoped to purchase some day..
Some months ago a good friend developed a terminal illness and offered us his diesel pusher at a very good price. We bought it and fulfilled a long term dream. It is an immaculately kept 2003 Holiday Rambler Endeavor model, 38 feet in length.
Reasonably skilled mechanically. Can do minor maintenance. We both like people and fancy ourselves as reasonably good communicators. We enjoy making new friends. Rick speaks German and both he and Sue studied Spanish but are not really fluent.
Just regular grateful Americans! Rick was born in Canada and became a naturalized citizen of the US years ago. Sue became a Canadian citizen when we lived in Vancouver area so we now both have dual citizenship.
No pets. Love animals but too much trouble now when traveling.
Fairly new at this but BLM lands and Corps of Engineer sites intrigue us. Looking forward very much to making friends with fellow Boondockers Welcome members!
We have found Cracker Barrel locations very pleasant and accessible.
We have lived in various cities-- Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Vancouver, BC. Settled in Redding some years ago because we have a daughter here and also other extended family.
Toad. 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Do not necessarily always tow this vehicle
Very gracious folks to have stay here.
Thoroughly enjoyed their company & recommend them to any & all Boondockers Hosts.
Look forward to seeing them again.

It was a real pleasure to have RickSue spend a cold night here. It got below freezing overnight. We had a few minutes - too few - of pleasant conversation. They are a real class act and are most welcome again!!!
RICKSUE is an excellent communicator, keeping us well informed as a severe winter storm moved over their previous location and proceeded toward SPAGHETTI'S ROOST. Their final ETA was spot on and we got them parked with access to 30 A power. We held a short conversation after their arrival, but it was too chilly out there for an extended one, which would have pleasurable, I am sure. They got situated, I sent them the Wi-Fi info and they responded that they were all set for the evening, planning on leaving about 9 AM to continue their eastward journey. A very pleasant couple that is most welcome to return. Becky & George
It was a short visit but we enjoyed getting to know our guests. Some interesting things in common. They resented us with some “home grown” peaches! Hope they visit again.
What a wonderful host, enjoyed talking with them. It was very quiet neighborhood. Parking was easy with the help of the host. There's a wonderful preserve with a trail right down the street to stretch your legs after riding all day. I would like to go back again. Thank you for the power and it was comfortable with just a fan.
Had a nice stay here and a good long talk with Rick upon arrival. However, I should have checked the weather forecast BEFORE I booked, totally my fault. Redding, CA can get very HOT during the summer and I was totally surprised by the heat that went up to 110+. Therefore I had to leave one day earlier and got back to altitude. Thanks again for having me and looking forward to come back!
We so very much enjoyed our stay here and the hosts are super generous and friendly. We were fortunate enough to be able to spend some time getting to know them too. During our time here we visited Lassen Volcanic National Park about 1.5hrs away from south entrance and 1 hr from north entrance. We also ran along the Sacramento River and in the park close to the hosts house, it's great to see such well maintained paved paths for walking/cycling/running. Thank you so much for hosting!
Our hosts were very kind an generous, and we had a really great time getting to know the neighbor kids who became fast friends with our kiddo. It’s been a great stay! New friends, nearby walking trail, nearby grocery store. Everything you could need.
We were greeted by Rick and Sue with a very warm welcome and available to do anything to make our RV set up easy. We had electrical hook ups for 15 amp and water was available to fill. We parked are in their front driveway to the side of their third garage site and our car was on the garage driveway. We had a nice chat with Rick and Sue and were invited into their home. We have a lot in common with them as Sue was a nurse, like me, and my late husband was a pastor has is Rick. We also RV and they RV so much to talk about and comparing notes. They couldn’t have been more hospitable, more helpful and very convenient to the freeway. They are convenient to Redding, where we saw the sundial Bridge; to the Shasta dam, and Whiskeytown recreational area and much more. Thank you again sorry I was late in my review but I’m on the way to Redwood‘s we lost Internet and didn’t have it until today when we started driving around near a town. Hope to see you again. God‘s blessings for you to for your hospitality. Grateful, Sharon and Bob
We truly enjoyed our stop. Our hosts were so welcoming and helpful. The neighborhood is lovely and a great park nearby to walk! We definitely would stop here again!
Not only is the location very nice and quiet with a close park nearby, but the host are incredible! Felt so comfortable here. I was able to join the host one night for some story sharing and then got to tour their motorhome the next day! They made sure I was well taken care of and ensured I could ask them if I needed anything. Ended up leaving with a couple of books for my collection and some inspiration from their travels! Couldn’t have asked for more
Couldn’t ask for a nicer couple or spot. Nice quiet neighborhood. Slept great. Nature area is a nice walk away with a paved path for bikes too.
We were scheduled to stay with Rick and Sue but when we arrived we felt we were a little to long for their space. No fault at all with them but I felt I wasn’t clear on my profile page that we have two large slide outs on both sides making it a little tight. We felt really awful to arrive then having to cancel with them because my husband was having trouble maneuvering so we could open both slides. The closet slide was no problem.
I spoke with Sue who was so very kind and she seemed to be really understanding and sweet.
If our rig had been smaller we would have loved to stay with them. Like I stated it was our fault for not being clear. I have changed my profile information to be more correct.
Thank you Rick and Sue
