Just retired in Dec 2019 - spent 6 months getting the house ready for sale - sold in 3 days!
We were excited to start a couple of years of travel and exploration just as Covid hit. 15 months later - we are still waiting to start a couple of years of travel and exploration - LOL.
10 years in the military as a Radar systems Technician followed by 25 years working in the aircraft industry. My spouse is the Reno Queen! Together we flipped many homes in our journey to this point. As I had a full time job, this beautiful lady did a huge portion of the work on a day to day basis. We have have now entered a new phase in our Journey - Retirement! We like to travel, meet new friends, and experience new adventures.
Our latest Reno project is our newest home - our 28 ft Class C motorhome that we have named "ITER".
ITER means "a Journey" or "Path or Passage" in Latin. Additionally. ITER is the name of the world's largest fusion experiment. The name is fitting since ITER is equipped with 2180 watts of roof mounted Solar, a 3000watt inverter/charger, and a DIY 10,000 watt lithium battery, The very inefficient rooftop AC was replaced it with a high efficiency 12,000 BTU Heat Pump. On our journeys, ITER keep us cool or warm with only the fusion power of the sun.

JJs_Journey stayed with us for two nights and were our first Boondockers Welcome guests. Pre-arrival communications were clear, timely and gave us a very good first impression. They arrived exactly when they said they'd arrive and we quickly got them orientated. Since they knew this was our first time hosting, they weren't sure if we'd be up for socializing or not. We assured them we were and we spent an enjoyable part of both evenings chatting and socializing on four Adirondack chairs in a circle on our lawn. Their RVing experience and active retirement path closely mirrors our own imminent retirement dreams and we truly enjoyed learning from them. It was also nice to share tales of our own RV adventures, before we sold our last rig. The only thing that drew the easy conversation to a close, was some pesky early evening mosquitos. They are welcome back here anytime and if you get the opportunity to meet them, I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as we did.
Sorry really late in doing this, just figured out how to do this. Welcome any time. Hope your travels went well in 2020
Spend some time with great conversation about present and future. Likely going to be seeing them again perhaps even on the road
JJs Journey are a very personable couple, considerate guests, and very easy to talk to. Nothing forced, nothing fake, just genuine people excited to be sharing ideas and experiences. We are certainly looking forward to our next meeting. We highly recommend this couple.
Both of them are like old friends that we haven't seen for years. We had a great evening together. We hope that one day , we will meet them again. .
Thesr guys are fun loving and living the dream and enjoying every step along the way.
Would have enjoyed chatting more but it was a quick stop.
Maybe next time.
Our plans were to head out to our campsite as well. Would have enjoyed spending some time with them as well Next time for sure
Had a great evening chatting with with this awesome couple....definitely too short of visit. More than welcome back anytime.
Wonderful visit with the JJs. Interesting exchange of ideas and thoughtful , considerate conversations.
The common bond that we have as guests and hosts always amazes me.
What starts out as a short visit at 7:00 pm. suddenly progresses to 11:30 pm.
Wow that time just flew by.
Hopefully we can all meet up again this summer and continue where we left off.
Take good care folks.
See you again ok.
