We are retired and spend summers here at home in Montana and winter on the road. We like to garden, hike, and play and occasional tune outside. We spend more time outside than inside.
We've been here 30 years so know the area well. We know where to go. We also play old time fiddle tunes, and that's fun to share.
Presently we have 1 dog, a very good dog. We have had horses, cows, goats sheep, llamas, chickens, and cats. Now that we travel, they had to go. I miss having chickens and horses.
Our favorite spots change every time we are out. My favorite today is the coastal beaches in Louisiana and the Sonoran desert in Arizona.
Troy MT is a small, quiet, "Mayberry" type of town. You wont find a stop light, fast food not Walmart. We are 6 miles from town on 50 acres surrounded by public land. It's quite beautiful here.

Had an awesome 2 day stay on hosts property. Enjoyed our stay. Very quiet and peaceful.
Karl the resident black lab provided plenty of 4 legged entertainment playing fetch.
The Duracell's were lovely hosts. They gave us a nice shady spot to park that was away from their house with lots of privacy. The property is up a beautiful mountain road. The drive and no hookups or cell coverage are worth it because the surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful.
We had a wonderful stay at the OBrien Creek Farm. Our hosts were very gracious and accommodating. The evening was very quite and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the deer and listening to the wind in the pine trees.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Duracell’s property. They took our request to stay outside the 3 day notice. We we traveling with two camping rigs.
Ample room, multiple suitable areas to park any size rig. (The hosts claim the area isn’t level, we had NO problems getting level). Their property seems and feels a long way from town, but really isn’t. The road to their place is all paved in amazing shape. There is no cell service, perfect for us. Be sure to enter from the west side of town if you are a rig over 10’ tall, there is a low clearance bridge otherwise. The hosts did warn us.
We highly recommend staying here if you are passing through!
Very nice couple and they gave me the choice of spots. It’s a little remote but that is what makes it special.
A fun couple and a big treat a long our way. They gave us a choice of several places to park and all of them were great options. This is a nice quiet place to relax and explore the area. We look forward to coming back next summer.
