Traveling Scenic Parts of USA

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

I'm retired and have driven my Class B Roadtrek motor home to most states including Alaska.
National parks and state parks are on my to do list. Prefer to overnight camp in quiet scenic country places.

I'm an early riser and usually leave camp at sun up. I prefer to quit driving for the day by 1:00 or 2:00.
Enjoy having a dog or cat for a pet but do not travel with any pets.

I live along the coast of Carolina and enjoy fishing and boating the intracoastal- waterway. Summers are hot and humid in the Southeast.
In the Summer I prefer to travel to Michigan where as a child I enjoyed summers at St Helen lake at my grandfather's cottage along with my family and many cousins.

The Summer of 2014 will be taking a workshop in Ohio before I attend a family backyard picnic in Eaton Rapids, Michigan.

In May 2013 I traveled through WV, VA, KY, MO, IA, NE, SD, WY, MT to arrive in Alberta Canada, Banff National park, where it was snowing.
I crossed Alberta, British Columbia and the Yukon to arrive in Alaska. Traveled 14,000 miles in 3 1/2 months. Saw most of Alaska and more bears, moose, elk and mountain goats than I could count. Snows until June that far North. Drove across the Glacier Ice field parkway in May.

September, will travel to Concord, Massachusetts to do genealogy research. Hope to visit historic sites in other parts of Massachusetts, preferably not in cities.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Some of my favorite boondocking locations:
Along lakes or streams in Alaska.
In the mountains in Yellowstone or Grand Tetons-.
Tennessee, Virginia have many beautiful boondocks sites. Vineyards are another favorite places to camp.

Roadtrek Bill's Hometown

I have lived in most states in the US. I currently reside in New Bern, NC because it is close to where I worked at Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC.

Roadtrek Bill's Rig

2005 Roadtrek motorhome, a 20 ft Chevrolet 3500 Express van with all the conveniences of home. I have lived in my motorhome for four months at a time without any problems. No slide outs, looks very much like a contractors van so can be parked anywhere in a normal parking spot. I especially enjoy driving through the Mc Donalds drive-thru for my morning coffee.
