We have a small family dairy farm on the Canadian border. We no longer milk cows but do crop work in the summer. In the winter we travel around the south and the southwest in our motor home. Although we no longer milk cows there are plenty of farms in the area where you can visit and see milking if you want.
We love visiting with our guests and sharing travel stories.
If you have a musical instrument, bring it along. We have a town band that welcomes players for our Wednesday night concerts from the end of June until the end of August.
The farm also has a pond for swimming.
We love boondocking in the Arizona and New Mexico deserts.
We are located in Newport Town, Vermont (note: NOT Newport City which is 10 miles east of us). Newport Town is very rural with lots of farms. We are located about 10 miles from Jay Peak ski area which has the Long Trail for some great hiking.
Newmar Dutchstar, class A, 38 feet long, 2 slide outs. Tow a Jeep Cherokee.
We continue to have very positive guests stay with us. HurdlandFarm came in and we just hit it off right away. They are also hosting and we traded thoughts and suggestions that will help us both. They shared our campfire two nights and the girls were excited to trade gardening tips and arts and crafts. We are looking forward to going to their property as it is a big farm and sounds great. We really enjoyed having them here. Very welcome anytime they are in our area.
We loved everything about our overnight at Hurdland Fram -- the spectacular scenery, the working-farm ambiance, the sweet little heifers, the inviting farm pond (although was a little too chilly for a dip the day we were there). Best of all were our hosts, who are friendly, welcoming, and full of information about and enthusiasm for their lovely corner of the world. We'd love to visit again some time, and hope they'll stay with us if they ever head to coastal Maine.
We were looking far a night on our Fall Colors Driving Tour and these hosts were just great.
Great locations, great views, great sunset. Vern & Judy were very accommodating to say the least. We adjusted our plans to visit Connecticut Lakes in NH and visit the granite headstones cemetery too! Thanks! Hope to see you at our FL place someday.
The folks at Hurdland Farm were extremely welcoming and had pre printed for us all the information about the area that we needed to make our stay in northern Vermont memorable Wonderful people with a beautiful farm. Can't thank them enough!
Enjoyed my stay, spent time up in their pond watching my pup chase the frogs. Would stay again
I have been absolutely hesitant about boondockers ,new to the idea, this has been such a wonderful VT experience. The Hurdland farm is a slice of heaven in the most majestic part of VT, I should know I’m a native. Vern & Judy are warm, welcoming, intelligent, curious and fantastic hosts, Not too much, Not too little, just perfectly enough. Thanx for your warmth and endearing me even more to the world of boondockers welcome. Great folks here!
We can’t say enough good things about our visit at Hurdland. Our new farmer friends Vern and Judy were as hospitable as can be! We were set up next to the barn with power and water and an incredible view across their fields to the Northern Green Mountains. Great recommendations on what to see while in the area. We drove all over enjoying the beautiful scenery...especially enjoyed Newport City, the lakefront, and our drive around Willoughby Lake. Loved getting to know our hosts a bit and hope to see them on future trips, maybe during foliage season or connecting again with them on the road in FL or AZ. Great stay, highly recommend!!!!
You won’t find better hosts than Judy and Vern who constantly worked to insure that your stay is a happy and comfortable one. An added bonus is they provide water and electric hookup for one RV. The fresh cucumbers and new potatoes were greatly appreciated. The majestic views of Jay Peak in daylight and Milkyway Galaxy in darkness are something to behold.
Great couple and location ! A Green Mountain sunset view with open fields ... Informative and gracious hosts making our first Boondocker experience awesome. They helped with cycling routes, a swimming hole , and a look into the equipment required to run a farm.
Since we were their first guest, I need to make this special. First of all, they are the one of the nicest couples we have meet. We felt like they treated us like family. They even gave us some yummy vegetables from their garden. Super generous, huh! They offered us a list of places to see and do. One of their suggestions was to hike the Belvidere Mountain. Just to let you know, there are multiple trails. We did not know this and somehow got the hardest option. We have to laugh at this now. The payoff was totally worth it, the views were incredible at the top.
Hurdland will tell you this too. It is a working farm, near many other farms, and there are times that you will smell that "fresh country air". Even though, the nights and days were so peaceful. They truly own a piece of heaven there. Everyone will enjoy their time there.
Thanks Hurdland Farms!
