We are John and Bev Martin, and we have five grown children and five grandchildren. John is recently retired from Alcoa, where he was in leadership, managing plants in the US and Brazil. I’ve been a stay at home mom and wife. John’s passion is running and mine is golf. We have created Retirement Travelers because we want to see the world and document our travels, hopefully inspiring others to travel, too. Our plan in 2020 was to travel abroad for the summer, but with Covid, we decided to pivot and buy an Airstream so we could support US businesses while seeing some a National Parks and Presidential Libraries. Since the lockdown has prevented us from getting off as soon as we hoped, we now plan to take two years to complete the journey. We are completely new to RVing and are excited to get out on the road.
We know how to travel abroad and how to do it on a budget. If someone is interested in how to plan their own trip, we’d be happy to chat about it and tell them how we have done it.
Yes, we have two Havanese dogs, Ginger and Mary Ann (Annie). They are older, and they bring us so much joy. They will be traveling with us.
We have never boondocked, but we are excited to try it!
We live in Palm City, Florida, on the N. St. Lucie River. John is originally from West Virginia and I am from Arkansas.

Retirement Travelers are welcome back anytime! Unfortunately, the weather was really rainy while they were here, so we want another chance to do better and give them a chance to check out the area. I wish them truly good travels with their new endeavor!
Great folks...new to RVing....but clearly not new to being nice people!!! Hope they will come again soon! Sadly, it rained most of the time they were here.
