We have a small house on a relatively big property in a quiet neighborhood. We've planted trees, flowers, and vegetables in the yard and have a small chicken coop with a few chooks. Between us we have five adult children, of whom only two are still in Tucson. We love camping in our little vintage Shasta trailer which is older than both of us, kayaking, and binge watching old television shows when the minds need a break.
We recently fenced in the area in the front yard that we offer for boondockers. There are 13’ gates on both ends so you can pull through, and the length of fence along the sidewalk is 46’.
She can cook and sew, and he can fix just about anything.
We have a few chickens, and a tortoise named Norbert.
We like to drive out into the middle of the desert. The views of the stars can't be beat.
Our home in Tucson is near the airplane boneyard on the South side of town. We've both lived here for most of our lives, although he spent some years in Alaska and she has lived in Virginia and Las Vegas for a couple of years. We like being able to get out and hike, and have a small camper trailer we take out on occasion. In Tucson, you are an hour from being in the mountains and six from being at the beach (less if you go to Mexico). We have the best Mexican food in the country, and are considered a city of Gastronomy by UNESCO.
Our hosts were beyond accommodating! The spot was perfect and easy. But the best part of our stay was finding new friends who a great conversationalists. When we find our way back through Tuscan, we'll be sure to visit. A big thank you to both!
Excellent hosts with a friendly, can do, perspective. I enjoyed my second visit and would enjoy coming back again.
Our hosts were friendly, very accommodating and our parking space worked fine for our 37 ft RV. This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome and we definitely will use again. We enjoyed visiting with our host and she even gave us some fresh eggs laid by her chickens. We would enjoy staying there again.
AmyG1970 is a terrific host and guided me into a flat, safe spot off the street. It's in a quiet neighborhood with occasional flyovers (only during working hours, never disturbed my sleep) from interesting and impressive aircraft from the nearby museum & AF Base. I missed meeting her husband as he was at work & pandemic protocols limited our contacts to "hello" & "goodbye."
I'm hopeful to stay with them again, if they'll have me.
A lovely quiet neighborhood. A safe place that was easy to pull into. The hosts were charming and gave us fresh eggs from their chickens! If you have a wider rig or one with pop-outs be careful not to squish the garden when you let your stairs down!
Our hosts were so welcoming and gracious during our stay! Thank you.
We were very grateful to have been able to stay with these hosts! They were very friendly. They gifted us some eggs from their coop and had a lovely area for us to park. Great location and would love to visit again next time we’re in Tucson.
It was our first time using boondockers welcome and we couldn’t have gotten a better host. They were so kind and helpful and even gave us some yummy fresh eggs. We felt safe and had a great experience
Really enjoyed and appreciated our stay on their drive thru site. Loved chatting with these folks and seeing their little chicken cadre. Very much enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast! Thanks so much!
We were fortunate to spend
a quiet and safe night at the Gordon Casita. We enjoyed seeing their vegetable garden in the front yard. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Thank you.
We were met upon arrival and offered water and electric. There was plenty of room for our small trailer and tow vehicle. There were even gates, had we felt the need to close them; we didn't. We had a nice visit on the first night (keeping our distance of course) and thoroughly enjoyed watching the chickens scurry around us. The hosts were incredible. We hope to see them again.
We found this to be a perfect location from which to explore the Saguaro National Park (east). It's also not far from the Pima Air & Space Museum (though we'd already been there so didn't go this time). Also, if you have time, I'd highly recommend visiting the Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures. My wife and I spent nearly two hours there and didn't make it half way through....we plan to go back!
The spot is super easy to get into and it is the most leveled one we have had. Unfortunately we were only there for one night so we didn’t see much. Will definitely need to come again. Thank you for a convenient place to stop for the night
Very nice place to park your RV the neighborhood pretty quite and safe and the host are very nice people.
Our host was very friendly. Met us to show where to park & hook up for our electric. A nice quiet neighborhood. RV site plenty long enough for our 32 foot fifth wheel & truck. Level with easy in & easy out. Would use again if in the area.
We couldn't ask for more... We superbly enjoyed a relaxing night and enjoyed getting to know our gracious hosts. They both genuinely made us feel welcomed and we reveled in watching them tending to chickens and working on their garden. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and the provided directions are easy to follow. The site is leveled and there is an option to connect to 15 AMPs, which we did not use. We're already planning a return trip...
This place is an amazing stop over because the hosts are super nice! The spot is easy to get into and we loved spending a couple days here. They let our kids give a treat to their chickens, which was fun. I wish we could have stayed longer to get to know the hosts better. I would definitely stay here again.
We had the pleasure to stay with The Gordon Casita! When we arrived we had plenty of room to park our 40 ft. rig. Our hosts were extremely attentive, friendly and kind. We had a wonderful conversation with them filled with fun and laughter. They went above and beyond and were so generous. We really appreciate everything so much and hope to come back and visit.
