Hi all. I'm a younger retired police officer and former Marine that has spent most of my retirement building and remodeling. I bought over 2 acres on the Colorado River just outside of Austin, Texas and spent a year working on it before I was able to move there full time. I added a few RV spaces with electric and water hookups and I have a house on the property. I can fix almost anything and do most of my own construction. I've got a couple kayaks at the property and there is an area to do some fishing. My river access is a bit rough but I'm continuously improving the property.
The property is out in the country and you can regularly hear cows, chickens, and dogs. You'll occasionally hear the neighbors kicking up the music and sometimes people shoot guns on their property. It's pretty quiet for the most part though.
Check the website for River Forest Haven to see if they are having an event. If they are, you should be ready for all night music. They don't do many events there, but when they do it can be loud.
I can fix almost anything and I love building and remodeling.
I also do some photo and video work as a hobby.
I have an older German Shepherd that gets along with most dogs. His name is Bodie and he is a rescue that was confiscated by the police as a youngster due to abuse and neglect. I was a K-9 handler as a police officer so I was able to rehabilitate and train him to be a great pet. I must say that he was easily trainable when he received love and care.
There are some neighborhood dogs that come to visit the property every day.
Garfield Texas just outside of Austin.

Bodie is a really fine dog, and we are grateful to him for sharing his handler with us. They're welcome any time.
Hosting Bodie105 was sheer delight. Bodie the dog is hansome and low-key, as well as a willing participant in our evening howling, but was otherwise a quiet canine. His owner, the 105 part, felt like an old friend from the beginning. A ready laugh, thoughtful conversation, and a willingness to lend a hand made the time fly. He's courteous and easy-going, a welcome Boondocker. We'll be visiting him at his host location soon!
Host was very welcoming and friendly. Although we didn’t have time to explore the river, host offered use of kayaks and canoe. Would love to make it back sometime when we have more time.
Enjoyed Thanksgiving next to the river. The host has quite the development going on. We appreciated his clean, new laundry building.
Terrific spot near Austin for a relaxing stay.
Very hospitable and cordial host. He has four wonderful large dogs who at first observation can be concerning but then you’ll quickly discover that they’re just big lovable babies.
Electrical and water hook ups and a shed with washer and dryer!
All of this in a country setting not far from Austin. Hard to beat!
Stayed here for 3 nights and was very quiet and peaceful. Host is super nice and had some good conversations. Colorado River is right down an embankment and easy access but is quite steep so just use some common sense and caution. Getting in is a tight fit for larger rigs but not impossible. We have a 38’ rig with 14’ trailer and was snug. It’s definitely worth it!! About 20-30 mins from anything in Austin.
Perfect spot only a short drive to Austin. We enjoyed our stay here, and the host was very friendly. Thanks for the stay!
Thanks to Chris, the landlord is a good person who likes to help others very much. He has a large site. The best place is next to the Colorado River, where you can boat and fish. We stayed in this place for three days and were taken care of by the landlord, and it is a great choice for exploring Austin, it takes more than 20 minutes to get there. I like it very much and will definitely come back if I get the chance.
Perfect 3 nights. Near Austin. Visiting my son. Got on my bike and visited the Capitol. And more. Very helpful. Host. Great amenities. See you again. Maybe
This was definitely a great stay for us. The host is very kind and generous. We did pay for the 50amp hookup which was great. Very quiet location and not that far from Austin. Thank you!
Bodie was a very helpful and kind host. His 4 legged friends were friendly and well behaved.
The property here is amazing. The river is so peaceful and relaxing.
I rented a car and went into Austin to be a tourist. I do believe that I enjoyed my quiet time on the host property more than the city.
I hope to make it back to this location possibly on my way back home.
Thanks so much. I will try to pay it forward!
We had a great stay here! 30amp hookups, water access, and laundry for a donation. Lots of space to turn around and park. The setting was quiet and the river was beautiful at sunset. We would absolutely stay here again.
Bodie 105 was a great host. His property is very well suited for HH. He’s done a lot of work to make it easy and convenient. Austin is a short drive, highly recommend staying if your close.
The property has fantastic potential and our host has a plan to develop it to benefit not only himself but visitors also.
He is outgoing and helpful. All ++++s.
We enjoyed our stay at Bodie's. Thanks for your hospitality. We would certainly stay again if in the area.
What a great place to stay. Plenty of room for several vehicles and it’s right on the Colorado River. The host is more than generous and just an all around nice guy. The location has access to laundry, water, electricity and the river. We would totally stay here again if we are in the area.
Quiet, beautiful, off the beaten path.
Gracious and helpful host. Three days of wonderful.
Everything a guest could want, right on the Colorado River.
Super Kind and accommodating, loved the location and can’t wait to stay again!! 🤩
Went out of his way to ensure we fit and had everything we needed!
We had a short, but very pleasant stay! The property is spacious and well maintained. The owner wasn't home when we arrived, but he replied immediately to my text and explained where to park. When the owner arrived at the property, he greeted us and asked if we needed anything. We had a nice chat! We also met another BW host from Colorado. We enjoyed chatting with them, too! We wish we had more time there, but we only had time for 1 night. We appreciate Bodie105's hospitality! We will definitely stop here again if we are in the area in the future.
C was an awesome host. He has done so much work on the property (ask him for a video) it was perfect! It is like getting the best spot at a campground all to yourself (or maybe another BW buddy). He let us use kayaks and cuddle the 4 big dogs roaming free on this large lot. Parked under a large shaded tree and steps to the river, what more could you want?
Safe travels with your Casita or Avion.
We enjoyed our stay. Host is very accommodating. Plenty of room for our rig and tow vehicle. We would definitely stay here again.
Bodie105 is great to stay with. His place is close to Austin and easy to get to. He is very accommodating and a pleasure to visit with. Would definitely stay again, given the opportunity.
One of the best BW we have been to! The host is super nice. We had a great time boating on the river, playing on the tire swing, and enjoying the wide open space. Nicer than some campgrounds we've been to!
Bodie 105 was thoughtful and clear on directions to his peaceful place on the Colorado River....he had everything all set near a huge beautiful ancient tree and we enjoyed a quiet 2 days with a nice breeze, starry nites and tranquility....great person to talk to-he's a talented and hardworking guy who continues to improve his place....he's amazing! Hope to check in on his progress in the future-I'm sure it will be even more transformed! Thank you for hosting us!
Bodie105 had a very lovely place for us to stay. He had electric and water available for us which was definitely nice! He was very friendly and helpful! Thank you so much for letting us camp!
Our host was awesome, the location was awesome and the weekend was AWESOME!!! We would highly recommend this location. Host was very helpful with providing information and help us getting settled and leaving. He has a beautiful well behaved dog who was a true blessing since we had just adopted a rescue border collie that needed some companionship. We will return soon for another relaxing and peaceful time. The river front row seating was so calming! Thanks Host
This was our second stay with the host and loved it just as much as the first. Nice quiet spot to stay near Austin.
Such a nice stay at a lovely spot! Our host was so accommodating, met us and helped us park. Easy hook up to water and electricity... highly recommended!
Chris was quite hospitable us changing spots to hook up and gracious to use amenities.
We only stayed a few nights but had a wonderful stay. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your property!
We had a great stay with Bodie105 at a shady spot under a big tree. We enjoyed meeting Bodie105 and getting to know him a bit. It was a short stay, since we were in transit, but when we come through again, we’d love to stay again! We recommend it!
