Currently helping out at an auto/truck shop I built in northern Arizona, doing some mechanics, mostly book work, etc.
Love playing classical, although I have been in every type of band you can imagine, Top 40 to country to jazz fusion to Punk.
Used to bike a lot, to work, as a kid from bay area to Yosemite, Crater Lake, from Montreal back home
We have a 36' Big Horn 5th wheel I put solar on, with a generator, we have yet to venture out and use it .....
We have 2 dogs, one we adopted, Jessie - it was chained to a pole for about a year, so we never got to train her from puppy hood. Our older girl we call Sunny (my mom's nickname).
El Cerrito or El Sobrante California is where I grew up, went to UC Berkeley, worked in the bay area at various start ups. Did tons of biking, mountain and road in the area. I now live with my girlfriend Karen in Seligman, Arizona, she tends bar, but we hope to start doing a lot of RV travel.
Heartland Bighorn 36' 5th wheel, with full solar enabling us to camp anywhere without hookups.
Thanks again for the boondock! An easy place to go when traveling I40 near Williams and Flagstaff. We had a lot of miles to cover so we had to depart early. Safe overnight stay and we appreciate it.
Quiet except for trains. Visited car show in Seligman and Grand Canyon cavern. Easy access to Rt 66 and I-40. Thank you!
My kids enjoyed the space to roam and there historic Route 66 experience in Seligman.
This is advertised as full hook, but there is a 30 amp and 50 amp, no sewer, and the owner prefers you not using the water since it is trucked in.
Basic overnight stay. Level spot with easy access. Quiet neighborhood. Trains nearby, but slept well...not too loud. Would stay again!
Thanks to our host for providing a nice spot under a brisk star filled night on our way to Flag. Instructions on where to park worked just fine. Our guest was out and about during our brief stay but we met the super nice mechanic who confirmed we were parked in the right spot. If you are a train enthusiast I recommend this spot as you will see and hear them at night. We we not bothered by them one bit. Historic town and cemetery nearby.
Didn’t get to meet the host but it was an easy, quiet stop. Didn’t see another living soul the whole time we were there. Easy access from off the highway.
We had a good stay. The lot was level. We didn’t use the utilities, but they were available if we had a need. We had some truck problems, and our host was helpful to provide numbers to call his diesel mechanic if we needed help. Would recommend this stay.
We are very grateful to be able to stop for the night on our way to Sedona.
Thanks so much for hosting us. Much appreciated enjoyed the Rt 66 dinners and the Grand Canyon while staying here. Sure appreciated the hospitality you gave us and the tip on Baja coast adventures we will be up to soon. Thanks again..
Everything is as advertised. Dave was a great communicator. The place is easy to find, the town is on historic route 66, and is fun to check out. We had a great day trip to the Grand Canyon and would gladly stay here again.
Host was very friendly and welcoming. The train tracks are close so the trains are as well. They added to the adventure. We would stay again.
Great place to stay.
Easy in and out
Dave was helpful with
an RV issue.
Cool town nearby
With a great breakfast at Lilo’s
Dave was very accomodating and a pleasure to briefly meet. We slept soundly, lulled by the trains. Interesting things to see nearby.
A great stay and highly recommended.
Great spot just off the highway, but far enough there is no sound except the occasional train which didn't keep me awake.
I missed meeting my host, but we had good, friendly dialogue vis msgs.
I'd be happy to stay again, if he'll have me.
It was quiet and peaceful. No problems at all. We had an enjoyable night here.
Did not get a chance to meet Dave. His directions were very good. Used the 50A hookup. Train noise at night but not real bothersome. Would stay again.
We got in much later than we intended and it wasn't a problem the site is truly self-serve found the hook up no problem for electricity very quiet very restful night thank you so much to a great host. My wife said it was like staying in Radiator Springs...
Great place to spend the night as a stopover on the trip home. Nice level spot. We were able to leave the travel trailer hooked up to the pickup.Used the electrical outlet, worked very well. Good Verizon signal. Trains pretty close, but didn’t bother. Davebeen was very easy to work with, responded quickly to messages. Thanks for the Boondocker spot.
Davebeen is super nice and responsive!
The place is right off the I-40, and still, it feels very safe and quiet (only a train goes by every now and then).
A good place to stop when you are traveling.
davebeen did a very good job of Covid communication :) - everything was by messages.
Very easy to pull in and out of, a level spot where I did not need to unhook for my one night visit. Thanx davebeen, and hopefully see you on the road, when you start your own travels.
We requested to stay same day and Dave was very accommodating. He called and gave us great directions and the location was very easy to find. My spouse is working from the road due to covid and we had great AT&T and T-Mobile service next to the garage and Dave was kind enough to allow us to work from here for the day. Thanks very much for the hospitality!
Located next door to a diesel repair shop. Very convenient to both Route 66 and I40. Not a commercial area as I expected it to be. Nice level area. There was 50 and 30 amp service although we did not use it. Met the owner's son who was very welcoming. Secluded area. You do have freight trains passing at night a few blocks away , but they didn't bother us at all. 5 minutes to restaurants. Thanks!
i needed an escape from the heat in the south and city noise. This was perfect for me and since the shop was closed due to the pandemic I was told I could park anywhere!. I have solar to power all I need, so no need for electric power. The breeze and wind with fresh air was perfect. I slept like a rock so trains didn't bother. Thanks again, and thanks to Boondockers Welcome.
Thank you for the same day acceptance for an overnight stay. Very convenient, level & safe!
I'm sorry the I wasn't able to catch anyone to give them $$$ for the 30amp hookup. I'll have to stop over next time I pass by your quaint town.
This spot worked great for us for an overnight stay. It was quiet and very easy to get in and out of the spot. There is a train close by but we never really noticed it. Thanks to our host for allowing us this stop.
Thanks for letting us stay. Easy stop while traveling route 66. Thanks again!!
