Being on the water in any capacity...paddling, boating, fishing...is when I’m at my happiest. I enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing and most things outdoors. I’m a huge animal lover and will stop in my tracks to pet most animals I see ❤️🐾. I currently work full time as a registered nurse.
I have 1 senior dog and a cat who thinks he’s a dog. I also volunteer at an animal shelter.
We live in Madeira Beach, Florida. It’s a small beach town on the gulf coast.
We have a 19’ toyhauler. There are no slide outs. We tow it with a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Had a great stay here. It was very tight getting to the location with my 33' RV and Jeep toad, but the host sent great directions beforehand on the best approach. Definitely not a spot for inexperienced large RV drivers, but it was a lovely, quiet neighborhood. It was close to a bunch of awesome Western NC attractions, including Grandfather Mtn, Linn Cove Viaduct, and Linville Falls.
We were facing some very cold and windy weather, and really appreciated this sheltered spot. Very detailed directions and an easy host to work with!
A perfect place to relax for a couple days. The site is very easy to back in to (with Outdoorgirl's instructions- don't follow GPS) and it has plenty of room for trailer and tow vehicle. It is nestled in a picturesque mountain neighborhood just a short drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I took walks both nights and chatted with friendly neighbors. Outdoorsgirl wasn't on site, though she was stellar with communication. It really was a treat to be there and what a gift for her to share her get-away with the community. Wonderful stay! Thank you :-)
Excellent communications around arriving and setting up. The host was gracious and accomodating and the site was perfect for exploring the surrounding area as well as being a lovely vacation spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I didn’t get to meet my host. But this cozy wooded feeling driveway was perfect. I could’ve had better weather it was drizzling but set the mood perfectly for a good nights sleep.
Very interesting neighborhood next time I hope to be able to explore it.
Even though our host was not on site, she allowed us to enjoy her home away from home. She generously let us use her water, electricity, and even sewer! This is a beautiful place, and it is in an area where there is so much to do. I think if I could pick my home away from home spot, it would be here! It seems like a perfect place! Thank you for sharing this with us!
We loved staying here. This is the perfect location for activity in the area. It is absolutely beautiful here and the weather is great. This is a great place to stay for a summer get-a-way Thanks for providing this for us
Friendly and responsive. Outstanding location if you're traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. Felt very safe and neighbors were very welcoming.
The host was quick to get back in touch with me, provided details directions on getting to the site. Unfortunate I had trouble on the road and wasn’t able to make it there. Can’t wait to get on the road again and hopefully stay here in the future.
Wonderful place to stay with lots of sites close by. We went to Blowing Rock, Boone. And Linville. Enjoyed the Original Mast General Store in Valle Crusis
Wonderful and quiet evening under the stars with only the sounds of wildlife, the way it should be. We are so thankful for the generosity of the host in sharing this experience with others.
Outdoorgirl's communication was lightning fast, and the mountain shed was exactly what we were looking for — a quiet getaway for a change of scenery. It was lovely to get off the overcrowded trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway to explore the lake and river trails in the community where the mountain shed's located. We also enjoyed strolling the neighborhood.
We were apprehensive about taking this trip — our first since our state lifted stay at home measures — and everything was absolutely perfect. Outdoorgirl was not on-site, but answered all my questions very promptly.
Thank you, thank you for the kindness and generosity. We'll be back!
This is a very nice site. It is quiet, in a great location and relatively easy to access. Nothing but good things to say.
This is a great place to stay in the mountains in a residential area. Host was outstanding and kept in contact the whole time. Unfortunately we didn’t see any bears. Friendly neighbors. Great walking and site seeing in the the area. Traveled to Boone and Blowing Rock due to all day rain.
The most accommodating host, she went out of her way to make the stay perfect. I'm only sorry I have just one night to visit. An exceptional location and neighborhood. Thank you......Casey
We stayed one night at Outdoorgirl's "mountain shed". The community is a great little break away from the buzzing society that most have become used to. The weather here is about 10 degrees cooler than most surrounding areas. This site is a perfect launch point to Boone, multiple National Forests, Blue Ridge Parkway, and much more. The site itself is about as peaceful as you can find. We had dark skies and very quiet night without hearing a peep from anyone around. The deck area is great to have a little picnic or sit out by a campfire in a grill. If needed, all utilities are setup for any standard RV. Beyond the site, the area, the community, was the kindness of the host. She stayed in contact the entire time, provided tips for getting there and about the area, and made the experience almost feel unreal with her kindness. Many of us are on the lookout for great new places, this stay delivered that and more with a connection to great person as well. Thank you!!
Donna was very helpful when I contacted her with some questions.
