We are just an ordinary couple trying to live extraordinary lives!
We have our own website: WenzelsWayside.com and we are on Youtube, IG and FB. You can check us out and what we do there!
We also have a non profit called Enrich Lives we started in 2018 and right now our first project happens to be in Uganda Africa.
We love to camp in our RV! We love hiking, biking, cooking, we just love getting outdoors and exploring.
We work hard during the week at our jobs and then we relax on the weekends by camping at least once a month.
James is a professional Land Surveyor
We have a non profit called Enrich Lives
Kellie is a professional singer and has produced her own music which you can find on Spotify/ iTunes/ Amamzon
We have two toy poodles Sammy and Sophie that are hypoallergenic and travel with us whenever we go camping.
You will see them riding in our baskets on our bikes, hiking the trails with us and they even have their own backpacks if the trial is really long. They are great in the camper if we have to leave them for a bit.
At this time we don't have a favorite boondocking location...
When we are home, we live on the beautiful Central Coast of CA
Helped us out of a scrape when our other camping location had a power outage! :) Thanks again!!
This is a beautiful part of California with rolling hills and exquisite wineries. The hosts were quite organized with a brochure outlining all you need to get comfortable and explore the area. It was a tight squeeze for my 25' Class C because they recently are storing a family members' fifth wheel on the other side of the driveway. But they helped me back in and I enjoyed my stay. I will return. Google maps didn't have the correct turn for theit drive. I suggest looking at the numbers when you're close.
The Wenzels are most generous hosts, set up on the hill of the neat town. A nice, quiet stopover with water and electricity available. Our long van fit in the driveway with room to spare. Blessings upon the Wenzels and their endeavors!
So friendly and helpful. It was the first night in our RV on our first RV trip. Such a nice way to start the trip.Thank you!
This was our first stay with a Boondockers Welcome host, and we couldn't be more grateful. Between the pandemic and a major heatwave we really didn't get to visit beyond a quick hello - but hope to next visit. These hosts are extra gracious and have gone out of their way to make this a welcoming and comfortable stay. The location was perfect for your trips to Morro Bay and San Luis Obisbo. The electrical hookup they provided was a major blessing during the unusual heatwave - we would have cooked without air conditioning! As a plus, these hosts are doing some great things in the world - worth checking out.
Our stay at WenzelsWayside was very comfortable. James and Kellie are such friendly and accommodating hosts. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time with them because of the virus. We so appreciate that they invited us to camp in their driveway during this COVID craziness. Hopefully we’ll pass this way again and get a chance to get to know them better.
Thanks again!!
This was a perfect spot. Host jade everything we needed. It is an easy drive to the beach. Thank you so much
They were great hosts! We had a nice time, we only stayed one night. I loved the pamphlet they have that they put together! We were able to visit some local wineries upon the recommendations!
We had a wonderful stay at Wenzel’s Wayside and look forward to going back soon. The hosts were both warm and welcoming, and helped us in many ways as we are first time RV-ers. Thank you for your hospitality!
Gracious hosts and a quiet, secure location close to Morro Bay, in the heart of wine country! Stayed for 3 nights and 2 full days in order to explore the area a bit. We appreciated access to water, 30/50 amp electric, and the dump station (such a unique opportunity at a private home). Saved us from stopping again! Thank you soooooo much!!
Wentzels Wayside is a cozy spot near Morrow Bay and Atescadero. We had a very peaceful night at Wentzels Wayside, Our host showed us where to park and showed us all the amenities they provided. We had no problems driving up their driveway in our 23ft skoolie. Thank you Wentzels Wayside for hosting us and making sure we had everything. You guys are awesome!
We greatly enjoyed our visit and Boondocking site! Our hosts were absolutely amazing, made sure we had everything, while also including a phablet with local advice, food spots, and etc. We felt absolutely welcomed, safe, and comfortable at their house for our night up the road for a job re-location. Would highly recommend this site and wonderful hosts, to say the least!
Both hosts (and their sweet doggies) were so welcoming... even with a adorable "Welcome Home" sign on the spot where we parked, and a real brochure filled with great information about our stay and the nice little town (as well as local winery info). We had a perfectly quiet, peaceful night's sleep, and definitely enjoyed "all the amenities", with electricity, water, and even a dump. In the morning and evening... there's a really nice walk along the road with sidewalks, and many deer to enjoy. What a find! :)
We stayed for 2 nights but we left earlier than originally planned. Due to the current situation with the virus, we changed direction to go back home. Thanks James and Kellie, you were wonderful hosts.
Wenzel’s Wayside were very friendly, kind and offered a lot especially in this uncertain time. Their driveway is steep and needed a bit of planning but overall it was doable. We have a 30ft travel trailer. A nice quiet neighborhood near a walking trail and easy drive to Morro Bay.
We had the best two days with these hosts. We became fast friends, chatting about everything! We stayed an extra night for board games and a play!!!!! They are kind and very helpful. We had no issues with our 26' TC. Hook ups if you need.
Wondeful stay & we will deefianlty be back.
With great thanks,
~Jeana & Mark
Hosts made sure we were comfortable and they shared a wealth of travel information for our proposed route.
We had a wonderful stay here! The hosts have created a welcoming and beautiful home with a great view. We were just traveling through and only stayed 1 night, but we wish we would have stayed at least 2. They were such great hosts and there are so many great things to do in this area. We did manage to squeeze in a perfect afternoon hike to the top of Pine Mountain which is just minutes from their house. Highly recommend!
This is a great location. The hosts are very generous with hook ups. Just a couple of miles outside of town and close to Morro Bay, numerous wineries and breweries and the hills are amazing. Highly recommend staying here.
Very pleased to spend last night at wenzelswayside. Lovely quiet night with very welcoming hosts.
We were traveling from Santa Barbara up to San Jose and this lovely couple gave us a quick response to our request. They made our first boondockers experience very uncomplicated and easy by even giving us a Information letter with all the Information we needed. We really appreciate the Wenzels for this opportunity. Highly recommandation!
