We are "old" campers, but most of our lives have been spent tent camping, then a short stint with a pop-up and then a few years with a small travel trailer. We just bought a motorhome and will be wanting to use it 3 or so months a year traveling around the country, as well as some short trips around the South. We currently live in Florida, but are both West Coasters - Bob from Southern California and Sandi from the mountains of southern and central Oregon. We are both tennis players and love any sort of recreation involving water (probably will have our canoe with us). We love to play cards and other games, indoors or out (bocce ball, cornhole, etc). We are also very involved in volunteering within our community/county and much of what we do has to do with fostering/rescuing animals. We are also members of two different charitable boards. We look forward to this new adventure - as we say, "Bob & Sandi's Most Excellent Adventures"!
Bob is a "handyman genius". Sandi is a skilled mixologist and makes the party happen ;)
We will be traveling with our newest rescue dog, Buddy (a mutt, but, as close as we can figure, a mix of Golden Retriever and some sort of hound - about 48 lbs) and our two cats, Wilbur and Fat Cat.
We are newbies, so nothing to share yet.
Homosassa, Florida - which is alongside of the Homosassa River (6 miles from the Gulf of Mexico) where we are well known for "Old Florida" lifestyle, boating, fishing, crabbing, scalloping, and swimming with the Manatees.
Motorhome is a 2013 Forest River FR3 30DS. Our tow vehicle is a 2012 Jeep Liberty. Both are very new to us and we are newbies in this RV world.
We enjoyed sharing our host site with smerer9353 and their friends from NC that just happened to be traveling through the area. They rented a pontoon boat from Yellow Jacket and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and the beautiful Suwannee river. There friends ( Truckhouse ) joined BDW that day to join them and loved the concept, another new member. Bob and Sandi also brought their canoe with them and had a nice trip up the river with Buddy. Buddy their dog also loved the open space to run and was a perfect k9 guest.
We would welcome them back.
