Discover a working cattle farm in the mountains of Western North Carolina at Walnut Hollow Ranch. The 30 minute tour is great for families with younger children. You will see the momma cows and their baby calves at certain times of the year. The kids can also see Boogie The Horse and JV The Donkey. The kids can climb on hay bales and the John Deere tractor for a photo.

The educational tour begins at the entrance of the farm store of the main buildng. The importance and management of productive pastures will be explained as you stroll down the concrete drive. The ranch manages the pastures with a rotational grazing system, so keep your eyes out for the herd.

The educational tour offers an informative discussion about how the cattle and ranch are managed. Charlie will explain how calves are chosen and the beef process.

There are many photo opportunities, especially seeing the kids with the farm tractors and equipment. Around the corner are other feed, material and hay sheds.

Charlie wants visitors to experience the sights and smells of the farm while discussing the cattle nutrient requirements. Discover how the ranch manages beef production. In addition, you will see many conservation practices used to protect the farms resources, water quality and environment. The tour will end in the farm store where you will learn about the healthful benefits of our wholesome beef.

Perfect place for a quick sleep over, on my way to Natahala River to paddle. Beautiful, peaceful rest. Host very friendly n great to learn about a working ranch. Look forward to returning this fall to share this beautiful place w my husband.

This is definitely on our list of places to return & stay awhile. We ended up passing the entrance sign but luckily there is a decent turn around spot about a mile up the road. If you pass the “Walnut Hollow” road sign at the end of the driveway you’ve missed the entrance. The camp host was super friendly & very knowledgeable about everything RV! We purchased some delicious steaks & my favorite “Liver”. All from the farm & fresh. The owner was great in communicating with us leading up to our stay.

Fun! Big Place!New Friends!

We had a great time at the Walnut Hollow RV Ranch. charliekissling was very friendly and accommodating. The beautiful wildflowers we’re everywhere. We met some fellow Boondockers and their dogs and went walking around the ranch. Saw six deer and watched them for about 5 minutes. Definitely would stay again.

Great stay

Charlie was very helpful. Great RV site with hookups. The beef was outstanding, expensive but the quality was worth it. Would return.

Nice country setting

Beautiful setting. We weren't able to get into our original spot that host had picked for us but he was very accommodating and found another (although tricky to get in) spot and provided us with a 30 amp cord. Not your typical boondockers welcome spot as we actually are paying for first and second night stay and it's comparable to what we would pay at an RV park with full hookups. We do love it here. There are charges for all extras, tours, fishing and dump station.

Lots of Excellants and Greats in review

What and excellant boondocker spot. We had a full hook up site, excellant level rock pad, and views to die for. Great Host he gives you free run of property to look over, and there's plenty to see. Next time I stay here I'll book as many days as he will allow us to stay.

Great Stay. Amazing Property. 100% worth the visit. Charlie knows how to put together a ranch!

Thank you. We truly had an amazing stay. What a gorgeous property. Truly stunning. I was laughing with your staff that in all the beauty the property has to offer, the concrete driveway was what I loved the most! I couldn't believe that there was not a stress crack anywhere!!
The staff was great. The set up was great. The property was beautiful to walk. Thank you again.

Very Quiet and Peaceful

Walnut Hollow Ranch was a wonderful stay. Beautiful mountain views, absolutely delectable grass fed meat in the farm store on site! This was definitely a place we would come back to again and again. While we boondock a lot, it was a great addition to have hookups for a small fee. There are lakes on property that you can sit at just enjoy, the peacefulness of the North Carolina mountains. And even though there are so many cows around, it never smelled like a farm. Everything is VERY clean and the owner takes great pride with how the grounds look. Our one night stay turned into a week! Very accommodating!
