We enjoy watching birds, listening to live music (RP plays the handpan, piano and didgeridoo), travel and good food. We swim and hike regularly and RP has recently taken to rock climbing. Last year we traveled to Baja to see whales and swim with whale sharks., traveled to Quebec to pick up our travel trailer (Alto by Safari Condo), flew to Oaxaca (Mexico) for the Day of the Dead celebration and finished up the year with Thanksgiving at Big Bend National Park.
RP is the original MacGyver; he currently (retires in May) works for a civil engineering firm specializing in road and pavement characteristics. He makes prototypes of machines to measure characteristics. He also makes didgeridoos (https://www.austindidgeridoo.com/who-we-are/ ) and performs with the local band Antares, playing the handpan and didgeridoo. Somehow he fits in making soap, rock climbing and playing the piano.
Peggy has spent the last 45 years in travel. And, until recently, the last 40 in running a company that offers birdwatching tours worldwide, www.fieldguides.com. She spends most her time planning their adventures.
We don't have pets but love dogs. We don't have a fenced yard. We have left the property fairly wild and share our 3 acres with foxes, skunks. snakes. possums, birds, lizards and butterflies.
Don't have any to share yet!

It was a very brief visit but I really enjoyed talking to them. Adorable rig. Nice folks.
Didn't get to interact much because of the cold weather thanks to winter storm Uri, but the minimal contact we did have was positive. The spot was very level and perfect for our Sprinter.
A warm welcome and a wonderful place to stay. Very private and full of singing birds and trees. Would love to stay again. Thank you, thank you!
Great hosts and location, yet again! Kind and accommodating!
Hosts were awesome and helpful. Property was amazing. Would highly recommend! Wish these were different times so that I could’ve interacted with the hosts more!
What a wonderful spot to spend a couple of nights close but not too close to Austin. Our hosts were very accommodating and respectful of our need for a low contact stay during the Pandemic. They both seem to be very interesting people and it would be interesting to spend time with them during normal times.
The picnic table and convenient water are much appreciated.
Amazing spot. Amazing host. Great experience for my 1st time Using BoondockersWelcome. Thank you
We felt like we were at our own private campground! Our hosts were hospitable, generous and easy to communicate with! Thank you for the social distanced happy hour on your patio. We loved learning all about your family, property and passions! Thank you!
Great place to stay close to Austin while still feeling secluded. Lovely parking spot surrounded by trees with picnic table and just enough room for our 30 foot class A! Thanks for letting us stay.
Our hosts were accommodating, generous and their property is beautiful! We appreciated power, offer of water, a prepared campsite with picnic table and a time with our hosts by the fire. Thank you for your company and hospitality!
RP & Peggy were our first Boondockers welcome host! While our interactions were brief (COVID) they were wonderful and we were so grateful to have been welcome there. Great neighborhood to walk/bike around in. Site was shaded by trees. They offered water and electric hookups for $5 a night which we gladly paid!
Great couple and a great spot to stay. Lovely spot to park surrounded by trees. I pulled my 30 foot 5th wheel in with no issues.
Wonderful location just outside of Austin. RPandPeggy excellent kind and accommodating hosts. This is our 2nd stay. Definitely coming back
Hosts were so nice and very respectful of coronavirus restrictions on space and masking. I really appreciated that. Driveway was easy to navigate and almost exactly level/ didn’t need blocks. Thank you so much for the stay and I wish things were different so we could talk and maybe share a meal. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Very nice level, gravel parking spot with trees for excellent privacy. My hosts we're so kind and very welcoming, although with COVID, our conversations were brief, masked and distanced, as they should be.
I'd be pleased to see them again, if they'll have me back.
I was so lucky. After I arrived at the landlord’s house, I was warmly received by them and helped me connect the water and electricity, and provided me with the connecting cable. What struck me most was that their houses were designed and built by themselves, using environmentally friendly materials and new wall structures, which gave me a lot of knowledge. RP is a great musician. The aboriginal musical instruments he made himself opened my eyes. His knowledge and talents are an example for us to learn from. It is really amazing. I will come back again if time permits in the future, thank them.
Host is just a lovely person, giving wonderful suggestions for things to do/see in the area! We loved the Buddhist Monastery just down the road. The site is excellent, providing some privacy and a picnic table for use. Our two vans had plenty of room.
Wonderful place nestled amongst cedars and oaks. Due to social distancing didn’t get to visit with hosts but they greeted us upon arrival. Will definitely stay again.
she was a great host, very accommodating and helpful!! Highly recommend her!
We had a wonderful stay. Our hosts were very welcoming and took the time to show us their favorite places in Austin.
The night was absolutely quiet, except for distant owls, which made it even nicer.
Kind, generous hosts! Lovely neighborhood, a safe sweet spot to park, plus good conversation - a bonus! Thank you so much for having us!
We were sorry we couldn't stay longer, but we'd love to come back another time.
Wonderful hosts and a lovely spot—we're thankful and will definitely stay again when we're back in Austin!
Our hosts were very accommodating and we really appreciated their sharing their space wirh us. Very kind folks.
Great place, no one else in sight. Like being in the woods by your self. Great host. They are very generous. Great advice about things in the area to see. Very helpful with a problem I was having with my heater. Spot is very level and no problem getting parked.
rpandpeggy were amazing hosts. They have the perfect spot in Austin for getting into town or checking out the wineries nearby It's super quiet and private. It was a great fit for my class B
We had a very enjoyable stay with these hosts. They greeted us warmly and we had a great visit with them, learning about the construction of their unique house, the city of Austin and about them. We attended a musical concert put on by RP and his band in a beautiful venue overlooking the Austin city lights. RP's band Antares, creates beautiful, ecclectic music with an eastern flair. I could listen to them all day. I was able to back my 27 foot travel trailer easily up their dirveway and park it in the designated spot and was very appreciative to be offered access to water, WiFi and electricity. This was the perfect BD experience with the added bonus of getting to know a new genre of beautiful music.
RP and Peggy were great hosts and have a beautiful home off the beaten path west of Austin. They can easily steer you in the right direction regarding Austin. Their restaurant referrals were 5-star!!! Thank you RP and Peggy for a really neat place.
