The road we live on is called Lover's Lane. I am a retired civilian OPP radio dispatcher and my brother Jeff is a retired cheese maker of 30+years. We are both single and now live together in a cute little bungalow on a half acre of forested property amongst hundreds of acres of cash crop farmland with no close neighbours. We both love to watch TV, eat and play euchre with our friends. Pretty laid back for sure. Jeff is the main cook. Our energetic Border Collie Jessy keeps us hopping. She loves to run beside our golf cart (year round) up and down the many miles of abandoned rail road tracks near us. We are located on the west outskirts of Mount Forest and enjoy the country life with the conveniences of town. This is a small hobby farm with field-run laying hens who are out all year round. We have solar panels and make our own power with back-up from the grid. We have a drilled well on our property that is free from the town's chlorine but is somewhat heavy with iron. There is a small forest at the back of our property where our guests can feel free to take their pet, walk or sit and relax at the picnic table. We respect quiet and privacy and will do the same with any visitors who stay over with us.

Skills & Expertise to Share

We can both build things like buildings and decks but have slowed down over the years as we are both in our 60's. Jeff likes to go fishing in the creeks and I tinker around with my dog, chickens and pond fish (gold fish) We both like to play euchre.....and watch tv (we have satellite and Netflix)

Linda+Jeff's Pets

We have a young Border Collie by the name of Jessy. Still in training but coming along nicely. She is one wild, energetic running, ball playing machine! She is confined to our half acre property with an in-ground wireless Pet Safe containment system. She loves other dogs and will play with them all day if you let her. If your dog is trained on the system you can bring his/her collar and let him/her loose to run and play. If you would like to walk/bike the abandoned tree lined railroad tracks (there's miles of them) you can let your dog run free. Our backyard forest is also available to use.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

We had our first Boondocking adventure in Hudson, Florida for a week in February 2020. It was great! Excellent hosts. Our second was in Goderich, Ontario at Lazy Acre with great hosts Todd and Gina. For now we are just hosting other Boondockers until we plan our next adventure.

Linda+Jeff's Hometown

Home town, decades ago, was Monkton, Ontario. Now located in Arthur Township, just west of Mount Forest, Ontario.

Friendly Siblings new to RVing

I'm so sorry for my very tardy comments. I thought I had completed this in Feb, but obviously not. Linda & Jeff were a very friendly pair along with their exuberant pup ( whom they kept leashed or on a longer tie-out with our permission). Our place was their 1st Boondocking experience, so they had many questions, trying to be compliant to BW guidelines. They aim to please & would be most welcome here again.

Nice Folks, Communicate Well.

Linda & Jeff were very pleasant and quite self sufficient guests. They were extremely appreciative of any minor amenity ( water, 15amp cord, trash recepticle, wifi, advice or suggestions). Jessie is a very beautiful, though hyper young gal, who they monitor well, keeping her on a leash or a tie-out at all times, & never leaving her alone. They apologized for her barking a couple times, but we never heard her. They communicated well before and during their stay. Would welcome them back anytime.

Another terrific experience

Our plans changed suddenly and we need to place the next day. Our hosts and their puppy greeted us when we arrived. They helped us set up and we chatted for about 30 minutes just getting to know each other. They helped us tremendously with some local knowledge that we needed for the next day.
I am beginning to sound like an advertisement for Boondockers. Each site we have been to has been amazing mostly due to the people we meet. Lovers Lane Getaway is no exception. Thank you very much to our hosts.

Great stop for first time boondockers.

I prefer to get started on our journey even if it’s after work because we always seem to be delayed for one reason or another the morning of departure. This was our first time boondocking and it was great. They communicated with us well as I was nervous we would be arriving late. We had problems with our water and we’re not sure it was resolved as we set out. They were kind enough to let us use their hose. Wr didn’t have to do a lot of levelling. And the are so friendly! Our dogs were able to play together the next morning after coffee and chatting and thank you for the fresh eggs. They were amazing on our trip! We will for sure go back and would highly recommend anyone to stay there.

Neighbourly Hosts

A nice Covid distanced greeting when we arrived, and in the morning from brother, sister and the dog. Fresh eggs for our breakfast and even mooched onion and carrot to add to our scramble. Interesting chatting and visiting the chickens. Had a nice country road bike ride too.

So welcoming!

From the moment we pulled into the driveway, our hosts and let’s not forget their friendly pup!) gave us such a warm welcome that it felt like we were visiting old friends. They helped direct my husband in backing in, and came out with a carton of freshly laid “Easter eggs” for us to enjoy. We highly recommend this quiet, peaceful location and these amazing hosts. Thank you for the amazing hospitality, new friends! 🤗

Wonderful family

Staying here with Linda and Jeff is like staying with family! They were very kind and helpful. They did their best to make us very comfortable. Their fresh chicken eggs were a wonderful surprise, it was too bad we couldn't stay a little longer to visit the chicken! Their dog was such a sweetheart! I would highly recommend a stay here with Linda and Jeff!
