Many decades of small RVing. My wife, Sheri, is a retired financial planner; I'm a retired Navy Seabee and an Architect. A nomad at heart, we're now living in paradise here in South Venice, FL>
I've got a good 'shop' so if something is broken (never happens, right?) we can probably fix it or McGiver it. You don't need to go full time 'Boondocking' either: 30amp power and well water are available.
Sorry, we no longer have pets, but yours are usually welcome - - - we do reserve the right to pass judgement.
We usually travel in our 28' class C (Bigfoot) coast to coast annually. We enjoy 'creature comforts' - - - so camping locations are chosen based first on our impression of safely and we generally require 30amp power. The rest we can manage.
Many 'home towns' thru our many years: Sheri's a Texan; I'm a 'Cornhusker' but lived coast to coast ( NH ro CA) before FL.
Classic 'Bigfoot' class C diesel MH. No slides, no 'toad', on pets, but we do carry a small motor-cycle in the back as our dingy.
Very accommodating hosts. Great location near venice beaches, and a wonderful dog beach. We wish we could have spent more time personally with our gracious hosts. Use of their electric and water was above and beyond.
An absolute pleasure, Tj was very helpful with places to see, things to do and places to eat. Nice quiet neighborhood that gets even more quiet at night.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Bigfoot's Lair. We had 30A electric and well water. Our host was very nice, he helped guide me into the site and assisted with the hookup. We spoke about things to do and see around town. Ask him about the Farmers Market, it is always busy, and there is a reason why. We look forward to staying here again.
Tjandsar was very helpful, meeting us on arrival and helping me back in to the spot. It is in a residential area but his RV and the fence close by gave privacy. 30 amp service was a big help in the heat. Nice county park about 3 minute drive away. Great host and location. Dump station for $15 is just 15 to 20 minutes away.
A huge thank you, tjandsar, for some of the quietest, most comfortable overnights we've ever had boondocking!
Backing-in to the firm, level gravel pad was easy, as was access to the 30-amp power and water you so generously offered. We felt particularly safe with your "Bigfoot" rig quietly "standing watch" next to us... ;-) Sorry not to make more time for us to interact ("ships passing in the night"), but your site is in such a great location that the "call" of nearby beaches, markets, and restaurants was just too strong!
Tjandsar left his comfortable home to meet me in a last minute request. He was nothing but wonderful and accommodating. The place is quiet with a grass space where I could do some exercise and play with my dogs. Thank you Tjandsar for your kindness and hospitality.
We can’t imagine nicer folks or a warmer welcome! Tjandsar are kind, interesting and talented. We parked next to their “Bigfoot” rig and had a lovely quiet spot a block away from the intercoastal.
It is very convenient to any type of store you could want.
We highly recommend this spot!
