My husband and I love living in Michigan and sharing its beauty. He’s an avid cyclist and is happy to give recommendations. I love to swim and sew. We both love to walk and hike. I am a vegetarian. He is an omnivore, so we can cover a full range of food preferences recommendations.
Cycling, hiking, and walking recommendations
Quilting shop recommendations, especially for batiks
Restaurant recommendations for cities close by.
We have a 15 pound rescue dog who is a terrier/shih tzu mix. She is very friendly, only barks when someone knocks, and LOVES to chase after a ball.
We live in the country on a lovely, little, no-wake lake so there are no fast boats to run you over while you swim, paddle board or kayak. There are 2 major grocery stores and propane available within 10 minutes of us so restocking is easy. We are less than a mile from a major trailhead for walking/running/cycling. Horseback riding is available about 10 minutes away. We are 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, where we lived for over 30 years and know well, 20 minutes from Brighton, and 15 minutes from Dexter. We lived in Ann Arbor for over 30 years.
We have a 27' airstream which we tow with an F-150 pick up truck. We usually have a couple of bikes on the back of the trailer, so our overall length is closer to 30’.
It was a pleasure to have her stash her trailer at our place while she visited family in area. We were lucky to meet her and get to visit a few times before she headed off. Very nice lady. Would have again. Oh and cute dog!!
Nice & friendly, quiet camper. Would definitely host again in a heartbeat. I was a bit busy with errands so didn’t get to chat as much as I wanted. Hopefully next time!
Great to host Terri and Jim, fellow BW hosts from Michigan. Nice to chat about BW with Terri and share our thoughts and appreciation for the service. We agreed the RVs are special and we enjoying sharing our land with others.
Hope to visit with Terri again in the future.
We were happy to get a little acquainted with these great Boondockers Welcome guests (who are also hosts). Their little dog, Zoey, is a delight to have around and we wanted to keep her! We look forward to return visits when this virus is over and our health issues are back to normal. We wish them Godspeed and safe travels until they come again.
Sadly we didn’t spend any time visiting as I was away most of theIr stay as were they. Very welcome back any time
Friendly guests, left the spot as they found it, brought CHOCOLATE too!
We enjoyed having LakesideTerri stay with us. Hope she can come back for a longer visit.
We would love to have her back for another stay. She is fun to talk to and loves my animals. Her dog was well behaved and very cute.
Nice couple stayed a few nights. Hardly noticed they were here. Cute little puppy liked to play ball. Interesting things about Great Lakes were shared too, never too old to learn. Welcome back anytime.
There are many that we meet as boondocking hosts that we enjoy their company and would gladly welcome them back and then there are those that you meet who you really have a kinship with and you feel like you have known them forever. The day of this couple was so much fun and not only do we hope to see them again at our place, we hope to visit them at theirs.
This was their first "Boondockers Welcome" experience and they don't need any training, they were perfect guests. Their little dog is really cute and well trained. They are welcome back anytime.
We had a great stay with LakesideTerri! She was extremely kind in allowing us to use her pedal boat, kayak, and canoe. She took time out to tell us about the area including wildlife and plants. She was easy to communicate with. We would definitely recommend staying here!
I humbly apologized at least 4-5 times for taking one of my dogs off leash near the lake. I admitted that I did it. I sincerely owned up to it. I explained to you why it was my fault. You said that you accepted my apology and enough was said about it yet, you considered my apology pushback. That is very disappointing because there is nothing I could ever do to earn your forgiveness. I didn't do it again. Winston did not step on your paint. One thing that I did not mention to you is that he is a certified therapy dog. I am a disabled veteran. The fact that he is dying was a personal aside that I revealed to you, however, once again, I took full responsibility for taking him off leash. We shouldn't have gone out there and I should have kept his vest on him. Sorry you felt so distressed over it. I'll send you a photo to prove he is actually a working dog (not that it matters to you). The point is that I took him off leash.
I had an amazing stay here - and an amazing host! The lake was so peaceful and refreshing to swim in and the host was so welcoming and kind. I hope to be back soon! Thank you!!
This was the first place we’ve ever been to in Michigan and it was just what we needed. The village of Pinckney is charming with all of its lakes and trees. Our stay was so peaceful and comfortable. Our host was so generous and nice. This is worth a stop. We didn’t even need to run the A/C. The local Grocery Store, Kroger, is well stocked with just about anything you need. We enjoyed our stay.
LakesideTerri is an absolutely fantastic host who helped make our stay here excellent. She put out cones to show us where to park in a nice private spot. Upon arrival she gave us a tour and told us we could go in the lake and use her kayaks which we took full advantage of. Towards the end she asked us if we could help her move furniture and we were happy to help. Would love to stay here again.
What a great spot for a nice, quiet few days away from home! Lakeside Terri greeted us with a quick tour of the property. We were pleasantly surprised with generosity of amenities shared at this BW location. Access to the private lake for swimming and fishing (bluegill and bass), and our hosts provided access to their backyard patio, kayaks, and paddle boat! The setup spot was nicely shaded and felt like a private space. We did use electric hookup and wifi (consistent, reliable - used for 3 days of remote work and meetings). Wonderful hosts and excellent spot. Would highly recommend, especially if you could stay to enjoy a day or two.
Very quiet here with combination of sun and shade. I was afraid we would have trouble with mosquitoes but that didnt happen. Our site was not a Lakeview site but the host welcomed us to his patio where we could enjoy the lakeview.
Once again we were received graciously by our host. Entry and parking is easy with our TT. Always a joy to stay at this peaceful spot on the lake.
Very quiet lakeside property with responsive hosts. Easy parking for my Class B campervan - away from house so private area. Greeted by host and given tour of property and offered 15W electric. This BDW place is 2 miles from the Lakeland Trail (partly paved multi-use rail trail). My dog - Peri - and I enjoyed our bike rides on the trail and the woods and open area at Lakeside Terri's place to play fetch. A great spot to stop and relax. Thank you.
Awesome Hosts. They were wonderful and very welcoming. They have a beautiful location next to a lake. Communication was great before and during our stay. Would definitely stay here again.
Our hosts were very gracious host and the spot was everything we could ask for. The cold weather prevented us from enjoying the lake but we were able to visit one of our family members and go to a wonderful restaurant, The Wooden Spoon in Brighton.
Overall a very good stay for us.
Terri was very welcoming and flexible. She helped make my first BW stay a wonderful experience. Lakeside is a great place to relax after a busy day, or if you want water activities there is a paddle boat available to see the peaceful lake. I am looking forward to more BW stays in the future.
Wonderful hosts. Beautiful lake view and paddle boat experience. Plus a lovely little dog. So grateful to them for sharing.
We had such an amazing stay. Quiet, picturesque, and the hosts were so friendly and responsive. The lake is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful.
Beautiful clear water lake. Enjoyed the view, swimming and paddle boat rides around the lake. Lakeside Terri ensured that our stay was memorable. Great conversationalist. Secluded well maintained yard with plenty of trees and plants. 3 bars ATT, The provided wifi worked well, no issues. Definitely would stay here again.
Same great hostess treated us to a swim in the lake after a long day on the road! This made it our second visit at this very pleasant site! Once coming and once going! Both times were most enjoyable!
Wonderful, gracious hosts!! Offered their electric hookup & water, and use of the lake amenities - standup paddle board, floaties, paddle boat, and kayak. We had great communication before & during my stay. Their property is absolutely beautiful and the lake is so nice to swim in. This is an excellent place for a little getaway and I had a great time here!
This place should be called “Peaceful Paradise”! The hosts were wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us. The lake is clean and relaxing. You can swim, paddle or just float. We did all three! Undoubtedly 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
This was our first experience and could not have been better. The hosts met us and shared their boondocking tips. Thank you Lakeside Terri!
Everytime I stay with BW I think, "This is the best place ever!" but today hit a new high! My niece still wants to be adopted! We had such a delightful time. We swam, paddle boated, SUP'ed, complete with paddle and a life vest! The lake, the chat, the lightning bugs! You made our visit so special! We couldn't have asked for a better mini summer vacation. Thanks Lakeside Terri for making our trip super fun!
Hello, had a lovely time at Terri’s. This is on a no-wake lake with quiet areas to paddle their kayak. I had a warm invitation to use the terrace area with heavenly lake breeze, to rock and breathe in fresh country air. There are hiking trails and state parks in a short drive, as well as a good size grocery store. Thanks for everything!!
At Lakeside Terri's I could feel the tension from the past isolated months melting away as I took up their offer to use their paddleboat (first time) on that beautiful lake, and later the kayak (first time). Loved it. They are wonderful people with a wonderful dog Zoey. I fished, explored, hiked, relaxed, and felt safe and welcome. Thank you Lakeside Terri.
