Retired, living the dream!
Greenfield, NY or where ever I park for the night.
Airstream Classic w/ Ford F350 dually crew cab.
He was in town with another Boondocker his granddaughters wedding. Great way to travel to events; if you ask me!
We enjoyed hosting them. Happy we were close enough to the events to make it easy.
Friendly and respectful of our space.
Very interesting rig. Enjoyed meeting this interesting gentleman and would welcome him back again.
So glad you guys enjoyed the farm. So sorry our itenary and yours did not match up. We where out currently as well on a journey for a few months now. Glad you enjoyed our Amish areas as well they are an interesting part of our county and very nice families. Safe travels and enjoy the memories your making now, hopefully one day our paths crossing will hit the right timing.
Really enjoyed these visitors. We were able to sit outside and visit on the deck around the pool and fire. Enjoyable conversations. Interesting folks to visit with. Welcome back anytime when in area. Pool available if you dare. lol
Gary and his traveling companion were easy to visit with. They took a couple days to explore Vicksburg and the Natchez Trace. Welcome any time.
Really enjoyed the time we had together to visit. Look forward to boondocking together again in the future.
I hosted gjlamothe foe 3 nights. gjlamothe was here last year. He is a great BDW guest volunteering on his arrival to help if you need him. I look forward to him returning next year. He is always welcome to come whenever he wishes to do so.
It was a pleasure to host this gentleman. I wish I had time to get to know him, but I had too much to do.
Very quiet completely self-sufficient he had mechanical issues so we didn’t get to interact much but welcome back anytime
Gilamonthe stayed on one o f my RV sites for three days. He was quiet and traveled a round the area enjoying the area sites. He was also helpful in removing the leaves that had accumulated over the last 3 or 4 months were my RV sites are located. He is welcome to return any time he wishes.
Said he needed a few days down time between stops, and said he enjoyed just that. Had good weather for relaxing and reading.
Welcome to stop back whenever needing a spot.
Very quiet and easy to deal with. Welcome back anytime. Maybe we will stop and see you when we are up your way 😊.
We had a lovely experience here. It was quiet and peaceful, and our host was friendly and helpful. We visited Moreau Lake State Park and very much enjoyed the bike trails and fishing. Thanks for a great stay!
We enjoyed our stay and the hosts were very hospitable. We'd love to have them at our place in Michigan.
Gary is the perfect host and his property is beautiful. It’s very centrally located to Saratoga Springs only about 4 miles and a 10 minute drive to downtown .
Gary is very caring and helpful. He had a fire going outside fro 2 of the four nights I stayed. Unfortunately I was quite tired from my antique auto show even and could only stay for a while on one of the nights.
I would recommend Gary and his property as a host enthusiastically. I have already recommended it to several other people for the future.
This went well for our first Boondockers stay. Our host Gary was quick to respond and provided good details on location and set up instructions. As an added bonus we were able to dump our tanks on the way out. Will try staying here again when in the area.
We stayed one night in early June this year and everything went well. The spot with electricity and dump was ideal for the last night of our 3200 mile cross country trip. It's conveniently located to I87 and the town of Saratoga Springs. The host was friendly and helpful to us.
We had a great experience here! Full sun spot for our solar, friendly fellow travelers, a warm fire to socialize around. Very sweet and friendly guests and kid-friendly as well! Thank you so much. 💕
Thank You Gary for a wonderful peaceful and quiet nights stay, you are a true gentleman. ps. the hot water problem has been solved, thermo fuse dohicky on the heater.
First off, we had to change our travel plans on short notice to get a COVID test to enter Canada. Our request was accepted within minutes and we received detailed instructions on getting to the property. Much faster than any host we've requested before!
Upon arrival we immediately felt at home. Very nice area with many choice spots for camping. We timed our stay perfectly with the christening of their new fire pit, which they were preparing as we had dinner. We had such a great time visiting and sharing road stories around the fire!
This was our first BW experience that we actually felt a bit sad when leaving. We already miss you guys and the doggies! gjlamothe has quite the artistic eye, though he will try to tell you otherwise. - Jeff & Heidi
Host was out of town but was in constant contact. This is an absolutely beautiful spot to Boondock but unfortunately working out of my RV i could not get a cell signal. Would stay here if I was not concerned with internet coverage. Close to major horse racing town :)
AT&T zero service
Beautiful land, great location, welcoming host. Sorry not to say goodbye but I left early before anyone was awake.
The host met us & guided us to our spot. Beautiful green surrounded by walnut trees.
This property is absolutely beautiful! One night turned into 2 and it was just what I needed...a rest from driving. A group of wild turkeys even paid me a visit but disappeared before I could get a photo. The host was very gracious and understanding when I showed up late on my first night because of a flat tire. I would highly recommend this host and his property!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We only stayed one night- arrived late and left early- but the property was well kept with plenty of level spots. Will stay again if we're in the area.
Quiet and peaceful place. We stayed to nights with no problems. In a nice area from the main road. Thank you for opening up your property we enjoyed our stay.
He met us as we got there and helped us find a place to park. Beautiful place. Quiet and peaceful.
Wonderful spot to relax in a grassy field tucked away in the trees. Our hosts are friendly and easy to chat with, making us feel welcome . This is really a great spot to booondock, and we'll look forward to returning.
Had an overnight stay on our way home.
Easy access and quiet stay.
Water and dump a plus.
We will be leaving tomorrow (August 24th).
Gary has been a most gracious host and very helpful. The amenities' he provides go far above what you'd expect.
Besides a beautiful setting, it is very quiet.
We highly recommend this Boondockers host.

Great location just a few minutes from town but feels like your deep in the woods. Couldn’t have planned a better spot. There are mosquitoes but nothing some repellent didn’t take care of. I tend to only park to sleep so I didn’t even notice. I will definitely stay again, I feel like there is so much more I need to see.
The area is large open field that can post multiple RVs at the same time the host was super nice and he even greeted us when we pulled in and gave us wate for our tanks. We have a 42 ft fifth wheel and was able to pull in and out super duty easy! Thanks for the stay really appreciate it
Gary was a wonderful host. Accepted my last minute request very quickly. Quiet area, though quite buggy. Plenty of room too.
We really enjoyed our stay here! His location is perfect, feels like you're out in the woods but you're only 10 minutes from downtown. There are multiple spots to choose from, we were able to back into a spot where we were completely in the shade at all times. He let us use his dump station, which was a huge benefit, and was such a gracious host. When we have more time, we would love to stay here again. If you're in the area, Saratoga and Lake George are wonderful places to visit, and this is one of the best boondocking locations we have been to.
Great spot and people! We only stopped in for one night while traveling through. Would love to come back and explore the area more, it seemed like a really cool area. Hope to see you again in Florida!
Absolutely amazing host and beautiful property. Take head of his advice about the right turn on 9n. This spot is a gem and we feel lucky to have touched down here for a bit. Yummy dinner at Cantina and perfect walk around downtown Saratoga Springs. We’ll be back!
I thought I had already left a reference about our visit but see it is not here. I say this because it was a pleasant visit and our host was very quick to respond to our inquiries (text)...so, worthy of a prompt review. As I wrote before, there is not much more I could add to the praises in previous reviews. He was quick to respond to our texts even at one point where we were in front of the driveway wondering if we were in the correct spot. His quick response helped settle down a bewildered situation...(the address numbers didn't make sense and Canty Rd is a very short road). He alerted us to a sawhorse in the driveway which was the "giveaway". We were in mosquito season so it was a bit annoying but the site was mowed and very quiet! Highly recommend this host.
Not much more praise to add than has been written before! I appreciated the quick responses to questions through text messaging...and through the BW site. When we were at his driveway, and a bit bewildered, he quickly responded that we were in the right place! The field was mowed and a somewhat level spot found. We are in mosquito season so they were a little annoying but "welcome to nature"!! The area is quiet and peaceful. Thanks to our host for being part of BW!
Slept great here, nice and quiet and dark, yet still felt very safe. Found a level spot without any issues. It was buggy but that’s just nature. Pretty wildflowers. Host was kind enough to let us stay last minute.
We were on our way to lake George & this was a quick re-charge for us!
Thank you for your fast reply,
We were greeted by hosts on arrival- site was private and level- we definitely recommend hosts and would like to add that it is a great location for Saratoga Springs events.
Great location, easy to find and park with plenty of space in a very quiet area. Only a few minute drive to downtown Saratoga, the race track and so much more. Great communication and good conversation with the host. Love sharing stories. Definitely stay again if back in the area!
What a wonderful boondocking spot, with a generous host. We were able to park our rig in an idillic place under the trees for shade throughout the day. This time of year everything was green and lush around us. The ability to fill your water tank and dump your holding tanks on arrival, departure, or both right on site was the icing on the cake. Definitely a great place to stay! Looking forward to connecting when the FL spot is ready! Thanks again
We had great communication before the stay, very good directions were given. Our host was there to welcome us and we had many choices on where to set up. His property is a few miles from Saratoga Springs, so we had a peaceful night yet were close to all the cool stuff in the area.
I would recommend this host with enthusiastic thumbs up.
What a great spot for a base camp in the Adirondacks! Not only is the yard very well cared for, and wild flowers all around, it’s also very quiet throughout the day & night, and convenient to explore Saratoga Springs, Lake George, etc. from. gjlamothe is a great host, he made us feel comfortable, had suggestions about some things to see/do in the area, and was very easy to talk with if we had questions. We did have some work to do while we were there, but neither our T-mobile nor Verizon was able to get enough signal to work from. Thankfully there is a great public library in Saratoga Springs less than 10 minutes away that had free, fast wifi and it worked out great for us. We will definitely be back in the area again in the future and hope gjlamothe will still be offering this place for boondockers!
Great quiet location. We wish we were not running around like crazy and could have enjoyed the property more as we were wrapped up in family wedding.
What a wonderfully quiet and peaceful spot. Our hosts meet its on arrival and was super friendly. Thank you for hosting.
We enjoyed our 2 day stay. Our host was a big help to us, being newbies
We have been blessed by our boondocker hosts and related experiences with each and every one of them. Adirondack Adventure is what everyone below me has stated! The setting is quiet, lush and very open. The amenities with full hookup and so close to all the interesting aspects of Saratoga Springs and the surrounding area. Our stay was brief, but enjoyed. Gary is very gracious, and kind in so many facets! If you have an opportunity to stay at Adirondack Adventure you’ll be stoked that you did so!
We didn’t get to stay the 3 nights as intended due to issues with our rig but the host was extremely nice and spot was beautiful. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!
Really is a beautiful spot, not hard to level even our 44 foot fifth wheel. The water was very good and both it and the dump station were conveniently located.
Our host had good advice for where to go for parts we needed, and he takes good care of the area.
Would highly recommend and will go again if we're ever in the area.
The host was kind and friendly. Although we met briefly, as we both had different schedules, the conversation was very pleasant. I could tell by the manicured property that he takes great pride in this location. I will be returning again soon. Thanks for the stay!
Doc and I enjoyed our stay on the host property. His property was beautiful and peaceful. We appreciate him letting us stay on his property.
We really enjoyed our stay. Our host was welcoming and very knowledgeable of local history. We hope to get to stay there again in the future!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience, although we've been active users of Harvest Hosts for some years. We were the only campers on this large and tranquil site and had access to electricity and water at the site plus a sewer dump, all at no charge. The property has room for many more campers, although there is only the one site with electricity and water. Gary could not have been more hospitable, and we are deeply grateful for his kindness and generosity.
What more can I say? This was our initial Boondocker’s Welcome visit and this one was a memorable one. gjlamothe is an outstanding host and his place is top notch.
Thanks so much for the visit G. We hope to see you again.
Whether in the Adirondacks or in GA, gjlamonthe is always a wonderful and gracious host! Savannah Adventure is a great central location for many historic sites as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, birding, boating and fishing. I hope to make time to visit again to enjoy more of the area. Thanks for a nice spot!
While the host was not present during my stay, he graciously allowed me to stay at his beautiful locstion. I hope I will get to meet him should I return in the future! The property is truly gorgeous surrounded by trees which, at the moment, are in full color. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
A great hideaway near Saratoga springs. Staying an extra night
Great communication with host. Easy. Simple. Perfect
Beautiful setting, open area surrounded by trees. Plenty of space to turn around as there is a wide circle path built in. We found a fairly level spot, but hand to make the circle a second time to do so. Owner was quick to respond to my request and provided answers to my questions promptly. Neighborhood is very nice and fall foliage is amazing. We stayed in our 40’ Class A with our Jeep Grand Cherokee in tow. Only tight spot was turning into the drive, as we had oncoming traffic and the drive snuck up on us. The entry has a couple of low hanging limbs that would be great to trim back. NOTE: GPS (Apple Maps) told us we had arrived several houses before we actually arrived.
It was great that we could pull through and make our turn around on the property without having to unhook the toad. Nighttime was very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again. Hopefully next time we would have the pleasure of meeting gjlamothe.
Quick overnight stay, the grounds were beautiful. The leaves are changing it was stunning. Would stay again
Thanks for the stay...the night was quiet and dark. The woods we beautiful, thanks.
greatly enjoyed a quiet night in a beautiful field. gjlamothe offered use of dump station and water. Very friendly and will visit again
I truly don’t know how to express in words this magical stay. Camper specifics - this place is perfect for any rig type, so much space so many options, and the full hook ups were an absolute treat. The property is beautifully kept, with cozy winding walking paths, plus I we came at the most perfect time of the year - warm days with comfortably cool sleeping nights. The stars were bright and the golden yellow leaves fell all around us like snow flakes. The location is just amazing, we have never been to this part of the state and boy was it a real treat. The local state park is really a site to see, with natural mineral water and the most refreshing drinking water. Make sure you stop for some Stewart’s Iced Coffee and Their blueberry pie in the sky ice cream - YUM!
Now on a more personal note - our host was out of this world. Between his generosity and kindness, we were blown away. The history of the property and the hosts family was so exciting to learn about. I will absolutely cherish our treasures we went home with. Thank you so much for your generosity and sharing your little slice of heaven with us newbies! Hope we meet again :)
We had a wonderful stay at this location. Close to everything, yet far from the noise. Our host was very enjoyable to chat with and offered some great ideas around the area. We definitely plan to visit with him again and suggest you do too! We thank him for offering this wonderful location and sharing it with others!
The site was everything we were looking for, a quiet place to stop on our way through. The field was big and you can easily find a nice private spot to spend the night.
Gary is a wonderful host. His spot is perfect with full hook ups and easy access! Thank you for having us stay!! Definitely recommend for some peace and tranquility just minutes from the highway.
I left a reference for the 2 nights I stayed there and this is one for the third night! I appreciated the trust leaving me alone at the property where I had a good rest. thanks again!
My stay has lasted 3 days instead of 2. I'm grateful to our host Gary who I haven't met but is gracious enough to share his septic station, electric and water with us traveling souls. It has been a peaceful, re-grouping respite from the long road I've been on, in green, foresty, quiet surroundings. Much thanks and appreciation!
This was a lovely few nights in beautiful Saratoga Springs. Thank you for your hospitality! We look forward to see you on the road.
My time spent at Adirondack Adventure (two) has been amazing. gjlamothe is a wonderful host and eagerly shared his passion for and knowledge of the history of this area with me, which made it even more enjoyable. I enjoyed not only the nature of the nearby beautiful Adirondack Mountains, but also enjoyed several days in the town of Saratoga Springs and State Park. The nearby Fossil Stone vineyards and winery is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and daily walks on their trails. So much to do here~ I will definitely be back again. The boondocking property is safe, has plenty of level places from which to choose and is equally as beautiful as the rest of the area. Gracious host and beautiful area~ what’s not to love!
Loved this place, super nice space and very nice host. Awesome wine tasting at the winery nearby.
Gary could not have been nicer and more accommodating! His yard and house is very nicely kept, safe and quiet. We hope to stay again on our way back! Thanks Gary!
We are having a great time here, very quiet peaceful relaxing that's how far from town. I like it here so much I will request another two nights.
The time we were were on his property was wonderful More then everything needed in 1 spot, with room for several other campers. If you are traveling with a group of campers this is where you want to boondock in the Saratoga area Our host offered a winery tour that my wife would have enjoyed, but extra workdays did not allow it. :( I enjoyed talking to our host and he has a lovely home and nice shady places to boondock. We will be back for a longer stay, with more time to explore Saratoga. Thank You to our host and thank you to Boondockers Welcome website. This is what RVing should be. :)
We will never forget walking through a home built in 1793, so much history here. Enjoyed seeing the old furniture and the history behind them. The lapidary shop was a huge bonus. The grounds were so beautiful, and the black walnut forest was magnificent. Thank you again for all you have done and shared with us. A very restful stay.
My husband and I spent three nights at this Host location and we enjoyed every minute. It is super close to the town of Saratoga Springs with its very historic buildings and elegant charm. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Wheatfield's restaurant in town. We spent a day and drove up to the Adirondack Mountains and visited the Lake George and Lake Placid areas. Both were amazing to see! Our host was incredibly hospitable and gave us wonderful recommendations. We enjoyed our time outside by the fire getting to know him better and he even gave us a tour of his incredible home. Very special place and wonderful host! We would love to come back and spend more time in the future!
An absolutely private gorgeous setting! Loved visiting the beautiful Saratoga Springs Spa State Park with it's hiking trails and Farmer's Market.
Saratoga Springs boasts so many unique shops and restaurants. Wonderful host and wonderful stay!
Wow. Stay here if you’re in the area! Such a beautiful spot in a grassy area with trees, flowers and lots of deer and birds. There’s water, elec & sewer in one of the spots, and the rest are boondocking. There’s also a small winery just around the corner, and the beautiful Saratoga Springs only 10 mins away. Wonderful spot, super nice host, best BW stay so far!
The site was beautiful and private. gjlamothe was a wonderful and personable host. He provided assistance setting up and even when my dog had a bumble bee bite and needed Benadryl. There are many interesting sites near by, including the Auto Museum in Saratoga Springs, as well as the hiking trails there. Another plus was wine tasting and great conversation at the Fossil Stone Winery down the road - the red, rose and marquette was delicious!
We loved our stay here. The site was fantastic, the host was very friendly and helpful, and the local state park was amazing! Would love to is it again!
Excellent host in a beautiful area. Level spot with water, sewer, and electric.
Unparalleled response with all communications.
Enjoyed picking fresh black caps. Very plentiful.
Easy in and out with motorhome & trailer.
This is a generous spot as it has its own w/e hook-ups and dumping station for the primary site. (There is, however, space in another field for others.) The property has woods around it yet it is just minutes to conveniences. The area is rich in outdoor activities. The host is very kind - though we didn’t have the chance to meet him in person.
What can I say about an RV spot that has full hook ups including RV dump.. Very peaceful… The second day my wife and I took our bikes down to Saratoga springs and had lunch and did the tourist thing… A 20 minute ride on a bicycle… The third day we unhookEd the water and electricity and left everything on the property and took the RV Up to Lake George for the day and did the tourist thing again… A 30 minute drive… We had a lovely little fire each night… I set up a trail camera in the woods and it took pictures of deer… And on the morning that We left I had a beautiful fox run right out of the woods across the field in front of me… So if you like that kind of thing and we do ,it was a very wonderful four nights… Thank you so much Gary maybe someday we can meet. Also we met a family that was Boondocking in the field above us but they left the next morning… Very nice people… Also Gary sister Doreen came down and said hello and we talked for a while… Very nice person.:.Probably the best Boondocking experience I have had so far
Relaxing! Beautiful and full of history. Close to great day trips.
The host is exceptionally helpful. He is also a kind person and makes you feel right at home.
Thank you for offering your slice of heaven to us for the week. Memories have been made.
Gjlamothe's property is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are meticulously maincured. It was very quiet at night and we could hear woodpeckers and other birds chirping in the trees during the day. We stayed for 4 days and slept soundly each night. Our host provided us with electric, water and sewer hookups to make our stay comfortable. It's a short drive to Saratoga Springs, and Glens Falls and Lake George are close by as well. It was absolutely perfect, we couldn't have asked for anything more. I just wish we didn't have to go home 😔. Thanks again for your hospitality!
This was an amazing location! We loved every bit of it, from the ease of pulling in to the beautiful wildflowers all around. Our host was really kind and so easy to communicate with. Highly recommended, we hope to be back again!
