Lived in south Texas for 30 years and love it. Several horses and two dogs keep us active. Tom still flies for work but is home most nights. Thinking about going full time in two years ourselves. Both of us are former USN.
No great skills except general courtesy and enjoyment of new friends.
Two dogs and a few horses.
We have another ranch east of Dallas and love it up there!
Originally from Mobile Alabama but navy so we’ve lived all over. Just north of Corpus Christi is now home.
2015 sundowner with a 10 foot short wall. The horse compartment is used exclusively for storage...no manure old or new!
Our stay on this Horse Ranch for my wife was a feeling of home. Twice daily the four beautiful horses made their way to the barn right in front of our RV. We even got a chance to feed them cookies. There was plenty of room to walk an take in the clean country air an see amazing sunsets. Our host's were so very hospitable and gracious. They are both so kind and knowledgeable about the surroundings. We had 30 amp hookup. It was definitely well worth it! Time seemed to fly. We can't wait for the opportunity to do it again!
We really enjoyed our stay and our hosts were great. It was wonderful seeing the beautiful horses they had. I would highly recommend staying here if you will be in the area. Lake Corpus Christi is a short drive away and definitely worth visiting especially if you are a bird watcher!!
We had been traveling in the Corpus Christi area and had just finished a week long stint at the beach on Padre Island.
As misfortune would have it, my travel partner broke down and we needed to stay a bit longer to evaluate the repairs. We located our host just north of town and as our good fortune would have it, they were located only a few miles away from the repair shop!
We enjoyed a quiet stay and a few adult beverages on the front porch enjoying the evening sunsets!
Great people, sweet horses, good times and Awesome experience!
Julia was so welcoming and kind. We loved meeting her horses and dogs and spending a peaceful night in the country! Will definitely stay again! Thanks for a lovely stay!
JuliaandTom were great hosts and had a lovely place to share. They were very accomodating, greeted us on our arrival and gave us a tour of their ranch. It was beautiful! Thank you.
We absolutely loved our stay. Top five reasons: #5 she shared her beautiful quilt shop with us - amazing. #4 wonderful southern Texas ranch - quite. #3 great location, enough outside Corpus Christi, yet close. #2 absolutely gorgeous horses! And #1 gracious hosts - went out of their way to make us comfortable, knowledgeable about the area, and so very welcoming! Thank you again for hosting us.
We had a wonderful time at Julia’s horse ranch. She was so welcoming and nice. Her property is beautiful and she let us wander all over. We woke up to horses out our window. It was so cool & enjoyable.
JuliaandTom are great people! So kind in everything they do. Their main objective of your stay is for you to be comfortable. Their pets are very friendly and fun to be around. We had nothing short of a great time at their place. We would definitely stay again.
I had a wonderful stay with Julia and Tom. Lovely Property and an added bonus of 30A Power. Very friendly couple. I would stay here again.
Julia and Tom offered us a safe haven at a time when we really needed it. And what a safe haven it is - a peaceful ranch with the company of sweet dogs and horses, and two kind, gracious, and generous hosts. Thank you, Julia and Tom, for opening your lovely home (and the gates!) to us.
Warm, welcoming and incredibly generous, Julia and Tom opened their place to weary full-timers impacted by Covid-19. We were allowed to chip-in on the ranch (even though it was not AT ALL required) and had fun doing it while contributing in a small way. They have 4 gentle, well-trained horses who are beautiful to watch (bring carrots and apples! :-)). Such a peaceful and restorative place. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! ‘Virtual’ hugs, new friends!!
We received the warmest of welcomes from Julia and Tom. A beautiful spot on their ranch to spend a few days. Received an equally warm welcome from the Lily, Uno, Cali (3 dogs) and the four horses too!
We had a great time - thank you Julia & Tom. We hope to see you Down Under soon to spend those Aussie Dollars!
Highly recommend this host.
It was a nice stay so we ask for one more night. It was quiet and our host so friendly. A perfect place near the city activity.
Julia and Tom are truly gracious hosts! as a horse lover I was invited to go with Julia to summon the horses to the barn for feeding time....beautiful and sweet horses too! Nice, quiet ranch, dark skies at night with twinkling stars in the sky....really enjoyed it immensely! Will try to head their way in the summertime again! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
This was my first boondockers welcome stay. Julia and Tom are delightful and accommodating hosts. My dog got sick and they even offered to take me to their local vet. We watched New Year's Eve fireworks on their porch and gathered around a fire pit by their pool in the evening. It was such a lovely stay I cannot say enough good things about this host.
Nous avons passé une merveilleux temps sur le ranch. Nous avons-nous été accueillis chaleureusement par nos hôtes. Les enfants ont bien aimé voir les chevaux et profiter de petits extra.
We had a wonderful time on the ranch. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts. The children enjoyed seeing the horses and enjoying the little extras.
thank you so much
We had a wonderful time at Julia and Tom's. A choice of parking spots, nice quiet and private site, and as much or little interaction as we wanted. It's a beautiful ranch and the dogs are friendly and fun. Julia, thanks for letting me help out in the studio...it was amazing! You sure do have some talents and it's easy to see how much you enjoy this life.
It was a good spot to explore the beaches from, and we even met some other boondockers we hope to keep in touch with, nice bonus.
Julia and Tom are somewhat new at BW but HOLY COW what awesome hosts!!! We became fast friends and I know if we ever head that way again we will certainly stop in and share an evening around a fire on their lovely back area.
All the horses and dogs know how kind and loving their mom and dad are. It was fun watching some of the daily activities that go on on a horse ranch.
We missed saying bye to Tom (bye Tom and thank you) but exchanged hugs with Julia guaranteeing you keep in touch!
I wish the best for them and hope they can get into an RV they love and do some traveling so they can meet wonderful BW hosts like they are!
Stayed for 2 nights while we toured the area and the USS Lexington. Excellent hosts, especially Julia and her dogs.
It seems she is a real Canadians home away from home person. Helpful with recommendations and very welcoming. Great place to stay close to Corpus Christi and hope she visits us and the Calgary Stampede so we can reciprocate the hospitality received by them.
Julia and Tom are extremely welcoming and friendly. They have a beautiful property. Only regret was we didn’t plan to stay longer.
We enjoyed watching the horses and walking the property.
The hosts were very friendly and interesting.
We sure hope to be back in the area to visit again.
Our host was so helpful and friendly, kept in contact to ensure we arrived safely and met us at the entrance gate. We had great conversations including an afternoon with fellow boondockerswelcome guests. Plenty of room and we appreciated having 30 amp power. Beautiful location and we’d love to return if we are in the area again.
Very welcome and accommodating. Julia was a great Host. Looking forward to returning to this location.
