Full Time RV Landscape Artist

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

I Have been an artist for approximately 45 years at this time, where my medium is oils on canvas. My main subject matter are Western United States Landscapes and Historical Railroad Scenes. My “Art Studio on Wheels” is a 2006 30 foot Jamboree, where I now can paint the chosen landscapes in person!

I have just started upon this artistic journey, and look forward to visiting the incredible landscape of the West and representing it in its truest form, where at a later date I will have an up-to-date blog of original paintings and where they were painted, along with the stories relative to each location.
Further information can be obtained upon my website at:

Skills & Expertise to Share

As stated, my expertise is in being an artist who paints in oils on canvas. I also play the drums in the 60’s Rock-n-Roll and Blues genre. Additionally, when a friend is in need, no is never an option in helping them.

RVArtist's Pets

I have no traveling pets, where before I have had a ‘plethora’ of cats and a few dogs over the years.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

As stated, I have just started this full time RV living, therefore at this time, my favorite boondocking locations is the Eastern Sierras along Highway 395.

RVArtist's Hometown

I have always lived in the Golden State of California, where my last residence is San Luis Obispo, California.

RVArtist - wonderful guest!

RVArtist was a wonderful guest. We greeted him and helped decide on a parking area best suited to the RV. We chatted a couple of nights and learned a lot about trains! He is always welcome and we hope will stay with us again!

Thank you RVArtist!

A nice visit with a train buff through and through!

RVArtist is a really nice fellow and was a wonderful guest. We enjoyed his stay very much. He did get a chance to visit Lake Tahoe one day which was fairly eventful, because he hadn't been there for many decades! HIs landscapes and Western train paintings are beautiful as he has been at it for 40+ years and developed fantastic talent. The artist is welcome to stay again anytime he's back in Carson Valley, NV.

Great guest

RVArtist was an excellent guest, quiet and respectful. Due to the pandemic we were not able to visit properly. We wish him well in his travels and he is welcome back anytime.

I loved Rod’s ability to communicate clearly from the get-go.

Although we didn’t get to visit, he was very quiet and respectful while he was here. He would be welcome back anytime.

Engaging & Kind

We enjoyed hosting RVArtist and seeing his beautiful work online. It's not every day you have such a talented artist stay on your property! We were grateful for his kind attention to our dogs who love hanging out with our Boonkdockers. Would happily host again.

Rod is a Nice Person.

He parked at our place 2 nigths and he was very respectful to us and to our property. He has an art studio on wheels and looks like he is enjoying life peacefully and making art out of it.

I enjoyed hosting RVARTIST at Windy Acres. We talked about trains. He had worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as did my father and brother. He is welcome to come back anytime he is in the area.
