Do you know or have you hosted this user?

We moved to the SW from the NW. Our combined years living in Alaska was apx 60. We've been out of the icebox and into the frying pan since 2004 and pretty much loving it...except in the summer. Our latest plan is to head north sometime around mayish and back south sometime around octoberish.I'm semi-retired and Melinda is fully tired.
We like meeting new and unusual people and vise-versa.
We've traveled the Alaska Hiway by motorhome, C-class & A-class & Pickup/camper, just pickup, and on our Harley 3 times. If your planning a trip to Alaska we can encourage you and suggest some don't miss places.
Melinda taught at The University of Alaska In the Physical Education/Aquatics for several years and was a successful chef and hosted a PBS tv show called "Hooked on Seafood". I've gold mined in the Ak interior and I can tell you those guys on that Gold Fever tv show make it look easy.

Skills & Expertise to Share

I'm kind of handy and Melindas' a good conversationalist with lots of great stories to share.

jimelinda's Pets

We have a traveling 5# yorkie named Kricket. She is very sweet, but aloof and you will most likely never see her.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Most anywhere thats not a city. We haven't done much boondocking, although we've been rving for about 20yrs. Did 6 years in a Toy Hauler (with our Harley) as full timers.
We've done the Walmart a couple times and the occasional rest area and of course broke down beside the road waiting for a tow truck.

Great hosts!!!

First time using Boondockers hosts and was a wonderful experience. Jim n Melinda‘s place is close to Pahrump, death Valleyand Vegas is just an hour away. They have full hook ups if you need it. Water, electricity, and Dump if you need. Would’ve been very handy if I had been on the road longer.

Wonderful Host with great views.

These were the most wonderful hosts, they made us feel like family! We had great views of mountains over 75% around us! And there were few little bunnies in the field to watch jump around! Due to some adverse weather conditions, we needed to extend our stay one more night, and they were delighted that we were staying longer, which made us feel very welcome on their property. We had some very nice conversations and they offered great advice on places to go. So now we are planning our Alaska triip! We absoultely recommend this stay!

Nicest Couple and wonderful hosts!

Rick and I truly appreciated your hospitality! From the colorful guide to our spot, the love and hospitality you showed to our Buddy and Bella (btw the coats you have Bella really came in handy up North). Hope to get a chance to see you both again. All the best to both of you!
Great spot! Very quiet, clean and beautiful view.

Excellent stay

I can't say enough nice things about this host! So very kind and welcoming and interesting and helpful! I kind of want to move onto their property and stay. 😉

Nice stay

We had a great stay here! The hosts were extremely nice and welcoming! She gave us some great recommendations in the area and even gave us some of her homemade peanut butter cookies. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommend this site! Thanks for the awesome stay!

A windy stay

I pulled in on an extremely windy day and was met at the gate and directed into a spot that kind of had a wind break. Didn’t see the hosts much for two days because of the weather but once it got nicer, we got a chance to catch up. Wonderful hosts that were very welcoming. Offered water and electric. Great view of Mt. Charleston.

Thanks for being part of the BDW program.

Awesome hosts

We arrived as total strangers and within 5 min of arriving we felt like we have known them all our lives. Very outgoing, knowledgeable and welcoming. We set up our 38ft Class A in the front yard as they already had two other guests in the back. Their property is so large that you would never know there were 3 RV's there at once. It was very quiet and the views were awesome!
We enjoyed exchanging travel story's as they too have traveled by RV & motorcycle. They are both a wealth of information, especially about Alaska. Melinda also taught me a couple tricks for baking.
A sure stop the next time we come through the area, We would even drive 100 miles out of our way just to see them again.
PS We almost hate to tell everyone how wonderful our stay was as next time we come through they may be full and have no room for us.

Great place and people.

What a great place to stay. The yard is open, flat and clean and the views are wonderful. Jim and Melinda made me feel like family. Thanks guys!

Perfect place!

The Bunny Farm was a perfect place to stay, close to the main road but far enough to be quiet and dark. The hosts were so sweet, offering great conservation, choice of place to park and even scrumptious sounding muffins the next morning that unfortunately we didn't have time to wait for.
Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic Host

Bunny Farm greeted us with open arms and a gracious setup of amenities. Wide open space for parking, the host’s are super cool we enjoyed talking with them about our adventures and they helped me out with route options. A nice dog park 3 min from the house if you have pets. Plenty of BLM land to explore and mountains with ride trails all around them kept us busy. Would stay again

Could not ask for nicer people or place! Above and beyond!

Great stay in Pahrump

The location was great - quiet & easy to get to. Pahrump has all needed services & dry sunny weather. The hosts were most gracious, making sure we had everything we needed & recommended a wonderful hairdresser. We signed up for one night, but they invited us to stay longer as we had to wait for new tires to replace a tire damaged on Death Valley gravel. We’ll definitely stay here another time. We had a great visit as we had lots in common with them. Thanks again!

Fantastic setup!

Jim and Melinda are so incredibly kind! Their space is PERFECT for RVs and they will go out of their way to make you feel welcomed 💖 I can’t wait to come back on my way up north next spring!
