This is the hard one. I saved it until last and feel like I've already said who we basically are etc. I live on the internet. We both like audible books while traveling. I am very physically active and like to kayak, swim, ski and garden which is a real workout in Tucson. I like the 5th wheel but I wish it were easier to get to know people at campgrounds. Of course, we haven't stayed at that many of them yet, so maybe that's a premature judgement. I like Tucson but I miss rain, snow and green things that grow all by themselves, like trees. I spent a month helping our son last autumn move to Colorado and I think in a year or so our house, which is way too big, will go on the market so we can live at least most of the year in Colorado. I really like the small town atmosphere, the weather and being with our family. Oh, it's pouring outside and my phone just beeped with a flash flood warning so I think I'll unplug the computer before lightning does it for me. Will finish this later. Marlyn and Dave Dawson signing off.
We had boats until recently. Did you know that AZ has more boats per person than any other state? That may because there are only about 30 people here but the boating is actually fantastic. Water gets to Phoenix by the Salt and Gila Rivers. The Salt has 3 beautiful lakes about 1 ½ hours from either Tucson or Phoenix. If you get the chance to come just skip Phoenix. Just a big metropolis. Tucson has mountains, and, yes even a ski lift. Our weather stays cooler in the summer so the tarmac never melts at the airport and we have the University of Arizona, and the Sonoran Desert Museum and very friendly people.
We are brand new at this so I don't really have any favorites. Hopefully in a few months this will be different.
We are both retired educators who have lived in Tucson for 40 years. We both worked for Tucson Unified School District but our son Nick went To Catalina Foothills School District. Now he and his wife live in Colorado so we want to spend more time traveling. Probably like others we have more time than money so this sounds like a wonderful idea.
We have a 5th wheel (i"ll get a better picture up when we leave). It has everything but it doesn't float. We are just getting into inflatables to kayak, fish and float so we'll see how that goes.
