We retired about 3 years ago from real-estate related positions. Our two children are grown and on their own, and we have two grandsons, ages 5 and 7.
We hail from Bishop, CA in the high desert Owens Valley and our old stomping grounds are the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Mammoth Mtn. ski area. After we married, we settled for 32 years in the Carson Valley, Nevada - another high desert/mountain valley environment.
When our kids moved to the Puget Sound area in 2000, we followed them. We have thoroughly enjoyed living near them these last few years, but, alas, the Western Washington wet weather has waterlogged these desert dwellers, and it's time to get back to some sunshine. Our grandkids are in school now, and we aren't able to be with them non-stop like we used to, so it's good timing to change our stagnant lifestyle, and have some adventures.
Die-hard baseball fans, it has long been a dream to attend a game at every major league ballpark. It'll take a few years, and we hope to meet some local baseball fans as we boondock our way through that dream.
Our other passion is birding. Hopefully we will meet other birders in our travels, adding both new friends and new species to our "life lists." We both fly fish - hopefully there are boondocker hosts near some blue-ribbon waters!
Bird photos and Identification; Fly Fishing. Jo makes the best Margaritas in the west, and we love to barbecue with new friends. Oh - and playing "Mexican Train."
Just beginning. Ideally we like areas that are somewhat remote, with reasonable access to nature and wildlife viewing areas, as well as fishing spots. To complete our dream of visiting MLB Ballparks, we will likely have to stay in or near a city....and that's okay too. We aren't much for fancy-doodle RV parks....we enjoy the boondocks! We grew up there.
