Dad is a Photography and Graphic Arts teacher of German extraction. Mom is a homemaker, volunteer and organizer of Japanese background, who keeps our two active boys out of trouble. Our families live abroad, and we love to travel to visit them, welcome them here, or hit the road.
We love to cook, can share photo and technology tips, Dad fools around with computers a lot. Pretty handy with tools, happy to help guest where I can.
No pets, but like them!
Quiet places in Nature, where we can explore. We loved all the Boondocking in National Forests throughout the western states, and met many friendly boondockers all over the continent!
Sold our Rig, but are still welcoming guests!
Takara and Family stayed for 2 nights and they were very enjoyable. We had burgers on the day they arrived and had a very good time sharing experiences. I would not have any hesitation in recommending them on their travels. Bob
"Takara" and his two sons visited Niagara Falls for a couple of days. They were very pleasant and we had some nice conversations. I was able to spend some time with them and show them "the falls" at night with the lights and fireworks display. I wouldn't hesitate to have them back again and hopefully be able to spend more time exploring the Niagara area. There is so much more than just "the falls". I highly recommend TAKARA and his family as BDW guests.
These folks arrived so quietly and left so early and quietly the next morning I totally forgot they were here. Love to have visitors like this and so do my neighbors!!!
It was our first ever stay from this website and it was fantastic, Rainer and Takara were great hosts , laid on water , WiFi and power for us , very friendly , and had loads of great tips for the local area and things to do in Vancouver area . Highly recommended
We were very appreciative of the warm welcome offered to us by this family. The kids loved the yard, and we loved chatting with Rainer especially. He had lots of advice which was massively helpful and is an all around great guy. His wife and children are also friendly too. Thanks again and look us up when you visit England! :-)
We stayed 2 nights in Takara's home. Very quiet and nice area. He make us feel very confortable and gave us a lots of tips to visit Vancouver and the area. We also enjoyed a lot talking with him, we even wish we could have some more time to talk with him! Very nice family!! We had a restful time here.
We had a very nice stay in Takara's house. It's very easy to visit Vancouver from their home. Rainer was very helpful, from visiting Vancouver to choosing a new lens ! Kids were very happy to play outside. We would be pleased to welcome them at home in Europe even if they don't have a motorhome !
We stayed here one night. Nice quiet location. Hosts were very kind and knowledgeable about the area. Would stay again.
We were Takara's guests and we really enjoyed knowing them and their 2 beautiful sons. We shared very pleasant times. They made us very comfortable. We hope to see them again. Maybe in France ? Thank you very much!
Our host was very available to us. We had great conversations about Vancouvers's culture and history. The spot is in the suburbs, but we were able to slide out our 35ft RV. Also, a nice short ride into the city by RV. I took a bike ride in the area and was happy to find biking/hiking trails right on the coast including whale watching ships. Great hosts and great town full of history.
This was our first boondockers welcome stay and what a great way to start. Very friendly welcome from the family. Really appreciated the loan of a few tools to help with our set up (we traveled from NZ, so nothing in the shed). Great walk along the Dyke to Fishermans market where they sell the fish off the back of the boat. Handy location if you are stopping over before sailing to Vancouver Island, only 30 mins to the ferry terminal.
Even though we came on short notice, this family arranged everything (even parked away all their cars) and made our stay as comfortable, as they could! We stayed only two nights, but we should have stayed longer, because we discovered that lovely sea dike only in the last minute... We used public transport into downtown Vancouver and it was no problem. The whole family welcomed us very warmly, they even invited us in and shared their delicious cheesecake with us, while we could have chatted the whole night! ;) Thanks for this great boondocking experience!
It was our first time to park overnight (actually two nights and one whole day) on someone else's property and we loved it. Rainer was already waiting for us and was a great help getting us to Downtown Vancouver through public transport. Thank you so much for the great cake (we loved it) and everything else!!
