Conservatives surrounded by grapes who dabble in winemaking, barbecuing, and outdoor life. The wife is a faculty member at the local community college. The children, young men, are finishing their educations and preparing to abandon us in order to start life out on their own. We welcome those who enjoy a glass of wine, a fire, and some good company.
All the subjects you failed to study and then some.
There is a very large Black German Shepherd (Batman) who roams the property and greets everyone with hugs and kisses. There are several well trained Belgian Malinois who guard the property behind a dog wire that runs all the way around our vineyards. They will not stray outside it.
All over North America.
Terra Bella, Ca. 93270 is a rural area 7 miles from Porterville, Ca. We are at the foot of Sequoia National Monument we have two great warm water fishing and boating lakes nearby. The closest, Lake Success is 8 miles away and it supports house boating, fishing, personal watercraft, kayaking, and swimming. The largest Lake Kaweah is 30 miles away. We have launched our 26 foot motored sailboat and multiple dinghies, kayaks, etc., in both and they are immensely entertaining for everyone. The local lakes are well stocked for freshwater fishing. They are operated by the Army Corps of Engineers, patrolled by watercraft of the Tulare County Sheriff, and by resident Park Rangers. There is a full service Marina on each Lake.
Palamino Hardside Truck Camper On a White 2016 F 250 Lariat 4/4 When there are hosts with Oceans and Lakes available we tow either a Utility Trailer with Several Malibu Kayaks and a Motorized Dinghy, fishing boat, or we tow our 26 foot long MacGregor 26x, Yacht, on a Dual Axel trailer. We encourage boaters to visit us at our Port San Luis Harbor Mooring next to Avila Beach, Ca. during the boating season. We have water taxi service and transient mooring is available for Ocean Boondockers.
Hosts were so kind and welcoming and graciously shared local favorites with us to explore... there were so many unexpected fun things to see in this area. The trail of 100 giants was a beautiful drive and absolutely amazing! If you're visiting the same nights as the coyotes you may prefer some earplugs as the guard dogs in the area do a great job of alerting each other to the intruders. We loved staying here and appreciated the location, agricultural views out our windows and especially the hospitality!
We needed a place to stay on our way north for the week and were blessed with this beautiful spot. We were invited to the house but after getting the kids fed and cleaned up we decided to call it an early night, but wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy such amazing hospitality. It could not have been easier to find and set up and access in and out was very simple even with our 43’ 5th wheel. Would love to visit again!
I can’t thank both of my hosts enough for they’re generosity and very helpful advice on how to navigate the parks in the area and the ones not so close by too.
Between the wine, the herbs, veggies and the conversation I’ve made out like a bandit, thank you both!!
I parked by the grapes 🍇. Super easy leveled, quiet and cool at night, heavenly!
I decided to stay a few extra days and my hosts have been generous enough to welcome me.🙏🏽
This community is an amazing gift and I’m so grateful for it.
Thank you A&Y. You’re both amazing people and I’m so honored to have met both your acquaintance. I hope we meet again.
You park your rig between Grapevines and Pistachios, the birds will sing for you each morning. Hosts A & D are warm and welcoming. I was invited to sit (distancing) and enjoy a bit of their wine. D, walking thru her organic garden, calling out the names of so many fruit trees and flower plants. I could feel it was definitely a labor of love! Thank you for the special treat! A, gave me a tour of his "home on water" boat, (getting it ready for a trip). A & D found I had a 2 day gap between my next camp and said I was welcome to stay. I have Visible for my cell and it was good. Town is only 10 minutes drive thru orange groves. Join his FB group and learn about Sequoia and King's Canyon before you go! Attitude is very knowledgeable.
I am continuously grateful for BW hosts for opening up there location for nomadic travelers like me!
Have a blast on your ocean adventure and catch (and eat) some fish!
Getting to the host’s property was super easy and it’s a beautiful location! We were greeted with warmth and chose to socialize and swap stories under the rising full moon. Thank you for sharing tastes of wine and fruits with us!
This was not only one of the easiest places to park any size rig, the host was beyond gracious and interesting.
Thanks so much for a beautiful blue sky visit to your wonderful vineyard. It was wonderful to meet other traveling Boondockers also staying there, to enjoy the amazing fruit trees, wine and fire light.
I would love to come back!
Thank you Attitude 😁!
Great one night stay at The Vineyards. Spent the evening visiting with the host and his family along with other Boondockers. Great evening around the fire enjoying our visit and the beautiful California night sky. 👍👍🙏
Thank you so much to Attitude for making our stay pleasant and enjoyable. Their hospitality was amazing, and the kids enjoyed learning about the various plants in their extensive garden. Thank you!!
Peaceful night staying in an orange grove with kind and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend.
Attitude were delightful and friendly hosts. They grow grapes on their property. They have been very accommodating and helpful when we've had questions. This is a good location to get to the Trail of 100 Giants (short) hike. We spent some of our workday down at The Mud House...a nice coffee shop in downtown Porterville.
Thank you for your hospitality! Was very interesting to hear about the vineyard and the business. Would stay again.
Host was very kind, met us and assisted with getting us set up. The area was beautiful with vineyards, fruit and nut trees all around. Be aware that the areas designated for parking along side the road is extremely narrow. Especially if you have a large RV with opposing slides, great for smaller rvs with no slides.
Park right next to the vineyard in the scenic countryside. Tour a nice garden and get to know some super people. The wine is excellent.
The hosts invited us to their backyard and shared their wine and showed us their garden. What a lovely place and so friendly hosts.
My hosts were very helpful in getting me properly situated upon arrival. They are very nice folks and made me feel very welcome. The peace and quiet here was very relaxing. I hope to use this location again.
Don’t stop here if you’re not looking for nice view and a warm welcome after a long drive. We enjoyed our pre supper evening on their back patio where w soaked up the view and swapped tales. Their hospitality was above and beyond. The parking spot was level and easy to access (and exit). This is rural area so expect animal noises; after driving nothing usually halts the eyelids from slamming shut. Had a nice rest, walked our pup in the morning and hit the road for the next leg.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with these hosts. They were more than welcoming and accommodating to our weather-dependent travel plans. They graciously allowed us to arrive two days early with only a couple of hours notice. We could not have asked for better hosts.
Definitely worth the trip! The location is beautiful with mountain views and pretty smells! In close enough proximity to town if you needed to get some coffee or to do some laundry! Only 2.5 hours from the beach and about the same to Sequoia National Park and if you're boondocking full time, whats a couple more hours! The hosts have the spots for you to park nice and level. Speaking of our hosts they were welcoming and easy to get a long with, so no troubles there. They offered us some wine (which was delicious) and conversation (which was enjoyable). Would definitely recommend any time!
Our hosts were GREAT! They allowed us to arrive two days early, and they invited us to their home patio where they shared wine they produced from grapes they grow on their property. Mrs. Host gave a tour of her gardening adventures. Mr. Host shared knowledge of the area, how they came to live on their property and experiences from times-gone-by. This brief description by no means describes the wonderful stay we have enjoyed here.
Perhaps the prettiest place I've been to. We stayed here in March when it could not be more beautiful. Our host is a great guy who I could have hung out with all day. It's worth the drive off the 99. Also if you are heading south use your map and go south on back roads. Gorgeous rolling hills with animals. I never knew this area existed.
We had a great experience At The Vineyards. Our hosts had us up to the patio for some wine and chat with us about travels and spots to visit. We stayed some extra nights as we loved Sequoia and road out some passing weather.
We were so happy to spend 2 nights at this awesome location. So beautiful and an easy drive to the Sequoia National Park.
Our hosts were really lovely people, we enjoyed an outside firepit social distanced evening, getting to know them. Hosts like this is what Boondocking Welcome is all about.
We slept both nights soundly, better than we have slept in many locations.
Gracious hosts, lovely views, good wine and we even got beautiful weather.
Our one night here was almost perfect in every way. Our hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed interesting conversation and a socially distanced glass of their wine with them on their patio. They showed us around their garden and gave us a level spot in which to park. Unfortunately there are outside dogs in the area and they were howling and barking throughout the entire night. We were completely unable to sleep with all the noise. If you are a deep sleeper or have no problems with earplugs this is otherwise a great place to stay.
We had a great two night stay. Our host met us and guided us in to park. Beautiful area with pistachio trees and orange groves as well as his own vineyard. The nights were quiet with only the occasional interruption of the lovely call of the coyotes. A great base for visiting Sequoia National Monument and Sequoia National Park.
Both host dogs and neighbor "guard dogs" are friendly and sweet, each liked attention. Both husband and wife were friendly as well and helpful. The wife was very nice to give me a tour of her phenomenal garden albeit winter is not the best showcase it was still pleasant to see and learn what she has. Good location for nearby Springs and Sequoias.
We got in late and left early but the site was easy to get to! Thanks!
The overnight stay "At The Vineyards" was a restful Blessing for my wife & I and our coach: TORTUGA 🐢 GRANDE.
They were very accommodating. We did not anticipate the construction on the highway and were delayed. We contacted the Host about our delay. They stated that it would be fine to arrive a few minutes later than anticipated.
They met us and provided specifics on the parking space. It was very helpful.
We are very grateful for the time and the boondocking opportunity.
Thank you for being a fantastic Host.
What an amazing night spent with our new friends! Absolutely the nicest couple, beautiful property and great night sleep! Okay maybe slept even better because of their delicious wine! Seriously can't thank our host enough. Met us as we drove up, clear parking guidance, ample room to pull out slide outs. Our dogs even got to meet new friends! So we didn't actually see the "star of Bethlehem, but the planets were pretty close together. Sharing our star gazing with these amazing people made the night even more memorable!! Can't wait to see you guys again..please come to our place in AZ if you are ever in the area. Stay healthy, happy and have a blessed Christmas! God bless you and your family
Art and Dee were very welcoming! If you enjoy discussing conservative politics, you will have a great time chatting with Art. Their wine was delicious!
A great 5 day stay. Close enough to visit Sequoia National Park and the Trails of 100 Giants in the Giant Sequoia National Monument. The Hosts offered a socially distanced "fireside chat" during the evening. We participated twice while here. They shared some wine produced from their grapes. Reasonably priced and clean laundromat 4 miles away.
The vineyard is beautiful and the hosts have improved the area that big rigs park on with some palm mulch to keep us from sinking into the dirt. They graciously host a socially distanced fireside chat with those staying at their ranch each night and let you taste the wine made from their grapes. It is tasty. We enjoyed getting to know the hosts and other RVers that came in each night. They have two well trained dogs who keep their property safe from coyotes that do not leave their vineyard. There are other friendly dogs roaming the neighborhood that will come to say hello from time to time.
Great rural location. Nice to have a fireside chat each night Covid style.
Nice hosts - invited us for wine outdoor in the evening (6 Feet and masks are a must) and a tour of the Orchard. Recommended
We had a wonderful time (safely and distantly) visiting with our hosts. They generously shared their delicious house wine around the fire pit. Plenty of space to accommodate our 26’ class A plus other guests. Thank you!
Really enjoyed our overnight stay At The Vinyards. It was quiet and we had a good rest for the night. Our hosts invited us to join them for a socially distanced visit around their firepit in the evening. Due to a breakdown we had to delay our arrival by one day but our host was understanding and allowed us to reschedule for the next night. Highly recommended for a stop on your journey!
They took extra time to make sure we found their property and got parked perfectly. They joined us for chat even though it was a particularly cold evening. We really enjoyed our visit with them. They even gave us a taste of their wonderful wine! The night was comfortable with a few interruptions by the neighbors dog barking but in the end we had a good nights sleep. Would recommend them to anyone boondocking in their area, especially in the springtime.
The parking was just as described. Unfortunately, we arrived after dark and had to leave early so we weren't able to enjoy the scenery. It was the perfect location for our purpose. Very thankful for hosts like Attitude that are willing to accommodate us travelers for a night.
We enjoyed our brief stay at Attitude. Very hospitable hosts and a peaceful location. Thanks for the stay!
We stayed for one night in the middle of June. The day was hot but the night was cool. Our hosts were exceptional. We felt very welcomed. We had a nice evening chatting with them. We hope to be back again.
Thank you for the hospitality, so much appreciated, and it was above and beyond a normal Boondockers experience. Looking forward to coming back to see them - and more of the big trees!
This place is beautiful! I especially enjoyed the tour of the hosts' garden. The hosts were very warm and welcoming and had great recs for exploring the area.
We had a blast here at the vineyard for 3 nights! The place was peaceful and quite and the hosts invited us to their courtyard for wine tasting and their garden for a few moberries! There will be an unleashed black dog that will greet you first from next door as you arrive so don't get too surprised! There are total 4 dogs including two guard dogs and they are all so lovely! The spot was well leveled and it was wide enough for our left and right slideouts.
A very pleasant two day stay here among the vineyard and pistachio trees! Our hosts were incredibly gracious with local attractions and we were even treated us to samples of their delicious boutique wine! We were fortunate to have stayed here-thank you both ☺️
Great time, wonderful hosts, beautiful place. Be sure to visit the giant sequoias!
We had a great time here. The host quickly responded to our stay request and greeted us when we arrived. Expectations were clear. We enjoyed chatting with our gracious hosts on many topics. While on the property our hosts entertained us in their lovely outdoor yard and we enjoyed a tour of the garden which has some fruit we'd never heard of before. The space width was tight for popouts on both sides, but we still had plenty of space for our use since the site is quite long. We listened to a cricket serenade each night. This was our very first time with Boondockers Welcome and we did have some concern that the location might not be as lovely as the photo indicates. We can assure you that it truly is as beautiful as the photo you see and the views from the yard were spectacular. The dogs really are quite friendly, too. It was truly a great stay and we both give it two thumbs up.
They were excellent hosts.
Within moments of arriving, The Mister was on scene making sure we had no issues or problems. The site was level and situated next to vineyard grapes on one side and pistachio trees on the other side.He is also a great conversationalist. The Misses is both a Math teacher and a very knowledgeable Gardner. She too can talk at length about her garden, which was amazing! We meet them for wine both evenings of our stay. Their Teroldego 2018 red wine was some of the best wine I have ever tasted, and I’m not a red wine enthusiast.
We have a 40’ 5th wheel plus Ram 3500 and parking was not an issue.
It is about 42 miles to the Trail of 100 Giants in the Sequoias. The drive was 1.5 hours but the area was beautiful so the time passed quickly.
We Will return to At the Vineyard again in the future. We had a great time!
Had a great time and enjoyed the wine. Nice countryside. Great host. Thank you
We had a very nice time by these guys! Get a tour in the fruit and vegetables garden and taste the lovely wine they make. Lovely dogs and nice area to visit. Your oranges keep us healthy in the last 2 weeks of our trip. Thanks for having us and maybe see you on an other trip
Johan and Loes, The Dutch guys
A happy coincidence for two math instructors to meet over a tasty glass of wine (supplied by our hosts.) Bet that doesn't happen very often. I mean really, what are the odds!?
Sandwiched between the pistachio trees and the grapevines, we spent two comfortable nights under the stars. A highlight was the just-after-dusk call and response medley between the coyotes and the domestic dogs near by. Really charming.
Great hosts. I was invited in for a glass of fantastic wine made from the grapes grown on their property. I even got a tour of her garden. Even though it was mid-December, the garden was impressive and I was kindly given two delicious persimmons picked from her tree. So yummy.
I would definitely recommend this host and this location.
Very nice spot and very very nice hosts. We just had one hiccup, it had rained a lot before we came and the night we stayed. So the spot we were in next to the vineyard was slushy and our 5th wheel and truck got stuck.
My host greeted me upon arrival and got me setup for the night. They invited me in for a homemade glass of wine created from their beautiful vineyard. We had a great deal of things in common and thus great conversations on many different topics. Overall a great stop if they are on your route. Thanks very much you guys!
Very welcoming on a very last minute request on a holiday weekend.
Super hosts.. We were met with a torchlight to guide us along the track to our spot alongside the owners' vines from their wine producing vineyard.
We were immediately welcomed and invited directly to their house to share a bottle of their wonderful vintage wine. After sorting ourselves out we were welcomed to return for coffee and shoot the breeze by the fire on the patio.
Given much information and maps to help us plan next day we choose to stay on and visit the giant Sequoias and swim in the local hot springs. On return we could return the generosity of the previous nights wine, but that was trumped by an offer of joining our hosts for an evening meal. Wunerbar!.
The only difficulty we had was in leaving our hosts the next morning. Hopefully our paths will cross again. Lovely people
These hosts were wonderful. Confirmed our stay within a couple of hours. Host met us at the location to park and was very helpful. We had wonderful conversation on their porch and the wife gave us a tour of her fantastic exotic vegetable and flower garden. We will stay again.
We had the honor of being the first guests of these new hosts. They generously accepted our request on 5 hours notice as we were avoiding snow and freezing rain on the Tioga Pass, northern California power blackouts and fires. We were met with a level spot as well as offers of coffee or wine and a long friendly conversation by a cozy fire on the front porch. We enjoyed our stay immensely!
