My wife and I are both retired. She was a neonatal nurse practitioner, and I was a college instructor and paramedic. We have an 83-acre farm but are no longer farming and have passed the torch onto our son. Now we plan to travel.
I've always been a jack of all trades type with many varied interests. These include construction, auto mechanics and repair, electronics and computers, ham radio, flying, science, and astronomy.
We have two English Mastiffs. They love camping and traveling.
My wife and I grew up east of Cleveland, Ohio, and have lived in Arizona and Massachusetts. Our current home is a farm outside of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.

Thanks for stopping by, my dad really enjoys talking with people and he doesn't mind sharing an experience or two!
Farmermark49 came while we were out of town. Our neighbor let us know when he arrived but didn't stop in to greet him because of the corona virus situation. Hope his stay was good and hope to meet him sometime in the future.
enjoyed hosting farmermark respectful and friendly folks, had good conversation around the campfire, welcome back anytime
My first hosting experience and all was good. Clan farmermark49 were quiet and courteous. I really hardly knew anyone was there. Certainly welcome back anytime.
Very nice quiet location next to the pond. Host met us, guided us to our spot and visited a bit. Kate, one of our goldens, really wanted to visit the cow that came toward the fence as we took our evening walk but I didn't let her.
I was soothed to sleep by chirping frogs from the lily pond behind the level parking site. The host met me and directed me to the parking spot. Definitely would stay here again!
He is an excellent host and now a friend. He takes such good care of the field and pond for us to enjoy. Good luck with your truck and have a good time down south.
We were welcomed by our host @farmermark49 as we pulled in down a lovely country road. Directions were excellent but your GPS will get you there no problem. We were not the only guest, but there was plenty of room and quiet. Our host helped us back into a lovely spot overlooking a series of ponds. Really peaceful and and so nice after a long day on the road
Generators are not a problem, we ran ours for a while in the evening but not all night. Good cell service (Verizon) let us stream entertainment for the evening.
Our host was helpful but not intrusive, which we much appreciated. I would stay here again with pleasure.
What a beautiful, peaceful stay next to a lilly pond with cows in the field. Perfectly flat space to land. And the host Farmer Mark is incredibly kind and helpful. Only wish we had more time to visit. Definitely recommend a stay here.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this BW site. We got set up right next to the pond with some lily pads and opened up all our windows to let the cool, fresh air flow through our travel trailer. We had a wonderful evening/night at this sight and slept like babies! The hosts are so kind to share this piece of heaven with us travelers. It is now one of our favorite BW sites! Thank you!
Words and pictures cannot do this place justice. Very easy to get to. VERY large and level space directly next to a large pond teeming with fish and lots of Lily pads. Serene. Private. farmermark was very personable and accommodating having met us at the road and walking back to show us where to go. This was our first Boondocking experience. If the others are half as nice as this, we'll be very Happy Campers. Looking forward to future stays here!!!
Very helpful and friendly. He helped me with my rig when I needed a second set of hands and offered me any tools I might need. Parked by the lake and heard the history. Very relaxing and enjoyable.
This was our second time to be blessed to stay here. It makes it so convenient to visit family and friends.
The site is close to a pond and I was able to walk the dog around the pond and enjoy seeing the fish and all the different birds. I was even able to see the otter as it made it's way across the water. This site is so peaceful and relaxing. Thanks again for a nice time.
We loved our stay! They are super flexible with arrival. We were next to a beautiful pond. Very private. Loved everything about it!
Once there I called. Mark came right out. Friendly gentleman.Told us where we could park!! Lots of room. Lovely place to say. Quiet. As a first time Boondocker welcome user. It was a huge success. Ty again Mark.
We stayed for couple of nights visiting state parks in the vicinity. Location was peaceful right next to a pond and farmermark49 was very helpful. Showed us our parking area and gave us some pointers on what we can visit in the area. We enjoyed star gazing and our dog was also entertained by a groundhog family nearby. Would highly recommend and would love to come back another time
Quiet, open and flat, with deer running through the fields behind the rig. 90-ish minutes to Cuyahoga NP, 10 minutes to groceries & Slippery Rock University.
Generous host, would love to stay again!
This is one of the most beautiful view we’ve had since we are on the road for two weeks. We were able to meet the host briefly when we got there and before departure. The host was nice to show us where to park. The area was freshly mowed. You will experience the sound of nature, specifically the geese. You can’t pass this beautiful view. Highly recommended
We enjoyed our stay here. Our host was very helpful. Had to cut our stay short by a day because we were afraid it was going to snow. Which we learned later that it did and they had almost 2 inches of snow. Might come back if and when it warms up.
Although we didn’t get an opportunity to meet our host we had a very pleasant stay. It was nice and quiet allowing for a restful night’s sleep. Would definitely stay here again.
Had a good nights sleep at Oakvue Farm.
Host was friendly and helpful. Our grandson and the dogs liked the fresh cut grass to play catch in.
Easy in and level area with nice view of cattle grazing on the hills. Quiet and calming.
We were cordially greeted by the host, his wife and their two English Mastiff‘s. Wonderful farm with animals, fish and lightning bugs. Enjoyed our peaceful night.
