My wife and I are very outdoor people. We both scuba dive, bicycle and ride our own motorcycles. We travel the country by motorcycle and tent camp.... We also love to take our 4x4 with our truck camper boondocking on the beach and into the mountains. We love to fish, I love to hunt deer and wild boar. My wife is an excellent cook and she refuses to cook hamburgers and hotdogs when we camp...gourmet all the way!
I have restored a 1966 Ford Falcon and a 1981 Honda CB750K. My wife works right alongside me with these types of projects.... Can build about anything, fix about anything and create about anything.... I love to work with my hands and no project is daunting....
Been a shade tree mechanic all my life, pretty damn handy with a hammer and saw too. Also done my share of auto body work... Can strip and put a motorcycle back together..and have done it a few times! Overall a handy guy....at least my wife says so!
Carolina Beach, NC is wonderful. You now have to make a reservation in advance to stay on the beach, which limits the crowd.... We love camping anywhere! We have stayed in many Pilot truck stops, church parking lots, highway rest stops, abandoned store parking lots, fire service roads...anywhere we feel safe!
Our town has an active downtown area that has many small shops and restaurants. It is 30 minutes north of the Charlotte Motor Speedway and about 15 minutes south of Lexington, NC the home of the BBQ festival every October...
2016 Nissan Titan XD 4x4 with our 2017 Wolf Creek truck camper. We have added solar panels. We have been ALL over the West and the high plains...fabulous!
We stopped for the night on our way south, and were glad we did. Both J and L were gracious hosts, offering water, electric, even use of their own bathroom! We had a lovely chat about camping and our travel adventures before turning in for the night. Their place is just off the highway, easy to find, and plenty of space to park. I would highly recommend staying with these lovely people if you are nearby! We will certainly be back.
This was our first time boon docking and Joe and Laura were great hosts. If they are the measure for all Hosts on "boondockers welcome", we all are lucky. Thank you for your hospitality, the campfire chat and snacks. We had a peaceful 2 nights sleep and enjoyed the company as well. If anyone is traveling through their area, they should definitely give Joe and Laura a call. Awesome first time experience. Thanks!
