He is a Virgo; was brought up on a farm and has a tenacious work ethic. Loves to keep busy around the house. Does all the driving when we travel in our 2013 42 foot Thor Tuscany. He calls it our "apartment on wheels."
She is a Capricorn; spends way too much time on the computer between Facebook, Solitaire and Scrabble. Used to love to cook and bake but not so much anymore. Loved living in the RV; sometimes wishes we hadn't bought this new-to-us home.
This wife says that the husband can do just about anything!
No pets because we want to travel at least six months out of the year. Yes, we know that they travel well, but we discovered it's much easier to be on the go without them.
Chiriacho Summit off of I-10 near . The General Patton Memorial Museum is in front of the boondocking spaces.
We were full-time travelers from 2014 - 2019 but fell in love with an acre property in Sun City, AZ. If you're not familiar with Sun City and you're a retiree, you don't know what you're missing! It is a haven for fun, fun, fun!!! Recreation Centers with pools, bocce ball, pickle ball, tennis, bowling, darts, garden club, card games, Zumba and other dance venues. Oh, did I mention golf courses?? You must be 55 or over to live here, though, so that is one requirement if you boondock with us.
Our rig is a 2013 Thor Tuscany 42 ft RQ model motorhome with four slideouts. Our tow vehicle is a 2008 Dodge Ram full size pickup.
These hosts were so welcoming to us and because of the coronavirus let us stay longer than we anticipated. They had a very accomodating space for us. The fresh fruit from their trees was a delicous surprise. They even offered us bikes to ride around their neighborhood. Delightful hosts! We would love to return if we have the opportunity!
Super Great Hosts!!! Lots of sharing and caring, laughs and gaffs. I hope to see them safely down the road some day.
Such nice folks! They welcomed us to their property, gave us citrus fruit, handed us a detailed map of the area and have a great piece of property for boondockers, in a quiet neighborhood.
There were multiple RV’s on their property during our stay, they would make great RV park managers!
Thanks again for sharing your little piece of paradise!
Had a great time at this location.
Great hosts, location and hope to visit again.
Thanks so much for being FANTASTIC hosts!
Dave & Pat
Hosts have created a friendly and welcoming community that’s close enough to spring training, shopping, and many other area attractions to be convenient, but far enough that it’s a break from the mayhem of all the people and traffic that is AZ in peak season.
We thoroughly enjoyed watching bunnies and birds play and feed around our trailer, and we actually love watching the F16s that train in the area fly over. We’ll definitely return!
This was a great spot for our 5 day visit to the Phoenix area. If you're touring the Phx area, it might be a bit of a drive to many locations, but it's well worth the stop. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and their property is clean and neat as a pin with plenty of level parking. We'd definitely stay again!
Totten’s folley hosts are beautiful people and provided amenities as needed. Had lemons, oranges and grapefruit for me too! Very enjoyable to visit with too! I look forward to staying again!
Very spacious and super nice. Definitely a great find. Thanks so much.
Once again Jean and Bruce have become my heroes for allowing me to stay with them longer than normal in order for me to attend my 3xs a week physical therapy for my shoulder surgery. They are truly an empathetic couple on top of their lovely well kept spot here in Sun City. Thank you again!
Our hosts were exceptional. Very welcoming and attentive to our needs. Very convenient site for us so we could be close to family nearby. Highly recommend this site to fellow RVers. Received freshly baked lemon cookies at departure.
We boondocked for 2 nights in this wonderful oasis located in Sun City, What a surprise! There were 6 RVs on the location and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. We left with oranges, grapefruit and lemons. We will return when we are back in the area.
These hosts are wonderful and friendly - very easy to get hold of on the phone, they greeted us and showed us where to park, their sites are firm dirt and gravel, and very level. They have space for several very large RVs so we had no trouble fitting in. It is an extremely quiet neighborhood and you can’t believe you’re in the middle of a big city! Also met other lovely RVers. Thank you Totten’s Folly!
I can't say enough. Absolutely the best. Hosts are superb. Beautiful setting.
We stayed here for 4 nights in Feb 2020 in our Class B motorhome. Lots of space in the back of their large lot. Easy access through the alley even for a class A. Wonderful friendly hosts. Visited with them each day. Beautiful spot. Our plans changed and we needed to leave one day earlier than we had planned. They were very gracious and understanding. Would love to stay here again.
Search a beautiful spot and Bruce and Jean have helped me out so much by allowing me to stay here while I am mending from surgery.
This hidden jewel is easy to find with the detailed directions sent by the hosts. Close to the west valley area of Phoenix, yet perfectly quiet and peaceful. More knowledgeable travelers willing to share their experiences. Courteous hosts and interesting camping neighbors, another super Boondocker stay.
My second stay was just as lovely as the first. You couldn’t find friendlier, more generous, or more thoughful hosts! (And thanks for hosting Super Bowl) 😉
We loved our stay with these wonderful and generous hosts!! Beautiful house and setting!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Great people and beautiful place. Couldnt get any better. Thanks so much!!
The hosts were absolutely lovely people. This was out first Boondockers Welcome stay and we couldn’t be happier. They came right out and greeted us and helped us with all our newbie questions. We hope to stay here again! 😀
Bruce- the replacement circuit panel actually worked... one of the plugs wasn’t seated properly . Once I pushed it completely on,... the gas and electric water heater kicked right on!
Thank you yet again.
Wonderful people who were incredibly helpful and funny!
I had a wonderful time staying with Jean and Bruce. Bruce helped me work on some items on my class C and Jean squeezed fresh juice for my travels. Had great conversations on the patio and laughed about our lives.
I highly recommend Bruce and Jean!
A week after our first visit we stayed again and things couldn’t get any better! Fresh squeezed juices from their orange and grapefruit trees and a drill press expert to help install a new TV! These hosts are the best! Thanks for two great stays!! D & T
We give this place FIVE STARS! Jean and Bruce are the nicest folks to talk to and will help you in any way they can! Highly recommend a stay here! Donna
My hosts were so welcoming and helpful upon arrival and set up! They have a unique and spacious little oasis in a residential area that was perfect for what I needed. I was close enough to the city to take care of some personal needs and tasks, with the bonus of returning to a quiet and peaceful setting at the end of the day. :-) Throw in nice conversations, electric and water hookups, and beautiful orange, grapefruit, and lemon trees outside my door, and you have the perfect boondocker location. Thank you!
Very accommodating hosts. Excellent place to stay when in the area.
I was very impressed by the direction detail for Tottens Folly. The hosts could not have been more gracious and welcoming - they embody the true spirit of RV hospitality. I would highly recommend this site and hope that my travels lead my way to Tottens Folly again someday.
Warm welcome on arrival! Enjoyed the quiet and restful time here. I was able to visit with friends in the area. Restaurants and shopping a few miles away. JT created a map showing gas, diesel, food etc., it was very helpful. TV - 45 channels with my antenna. Lovely stay, thank you!
I was greeted by the hosts when I arrived, chatted for quite a while outside in the cold Arizona winter. They shared their favorite boondocking site with me and since I was heading that way, I decided to park there and it is great. If you are looking for a site to stay off the I-10 west of Phoenix, you have to stay with One day at a time to find out where this site is. Location is super convenient, in a residential area with shopping, gas stations and restaurants within a short drive. Enjoyed my short stay and will be coming back.
What a peaceful location in the middle of the city. Our hosts could not be more welcoming and helpful providing us with a map of services in the area. Always great to have in a area we're not familiar with. Depending on our plans next spring, after leaving Tucson, we would love to stay there again. Thanks for a great visit.
Great location. Ample room in their picturesque back yard. Friendly and helpful hosts. We enjoyed our visit.
