Joan and Murray are retired high school teachers who enjoy RVing. We have 3 grown children, and 6 grandchildren.
We live on beautiful Trout Lake, a large lake 10 minutes from North Bay. Murray is a competitive runner, barbershop singer and a mandolin player in a bluegrass band. Joan likes to golf, play tennis, hike and entertain her young grandchildren.
We are not particularly handy when it comes to fixing things. We could take you on a hike, share a meal or just chat.
We don’t have any pets at the moment but do love animals.
We generally like to travel in the southern USA for the winter. In the warmer months we go to many different bluegrass festivals in Ontario.
North Bay, Ontario is a city of 55 000, with friendly people, and a small town atmosphere. The city is nestled between 2 large lakes with nature being the main attraction. We live on one of the beautiful lakes, Trout Lake.
We have a 2018 Entegra Class C RV. It has one slide on drivers side. It could be functional with the slide in. It does have a generator but is also solar equiped.
Murray and Joan are wonderful guests. Anyone who has the pleasure of hosting them will be glad they did. Bonus points if you get her to make corn casserole for you.
We really enjoyed Joan & Murray. We had a good bike ride, Murray entertained us with his mandolin and singing. Had some good fellowship and would have them back again.
He was a great guest. I did not get to meet his wife, as she had other plans. I hope the next time they are in this area I will get to meet her. I hope to visit them up north someday. They are welcome here allways.
We have thoroughly enjoyed On the Road Again visiting our Boondocking site here.
They are very friendly and we loved getting to know them.
They are supposed to come back and stay another couple days and we are looking
forward to that time together.
Murray and Joan are , without a doubt, the perfect guest....They fall into the following attributes:
We here at THE GROVE consider them FRIENDS.
Good luck to Murray and Joan (On The Road Again) .....You are highly recommended to future Host.
It was just a quick overnighter, without any time to enjoy the beautiful location, or to get to know our gracious hosts. Hope to stop in again soon, and stay a while.
It was our first Sary and we could not have ask for a better time. Thanks you so much for your hospitality.
Great hosts, beautiful spot, walking trails across the road. "Road Again" provided us with all the amenities. Very nice stay.
Thanks again, folks.
We were welcomed immediately by this friendly couple to their gorgeous lakeside property just outside the busy city of North Bay. Sitting at their waterfront enjoying a pretty Fall sunset was a highlight of our stay with them. We would love to come back next summer!
Thanks to our hosts we sat in their comfy Muskoka Chairs at the lake edge to enjoy our happy hour watching the setting sun. Friendly welcoming folks - be sure to ask to stay here🚐
Les hôtes nous ont très bien accueillies. Merci pour ce joli site sur le bord de l'eau.
Our first night on a 3 month journey in tropical heat. Welcoming hosts and a dip in the lovely waters of North Bay. The rest of the trip could be down hill from here...Thank you so much.
Unfortunately our late arrival and early departure did not leave us enough time to chat with those nice persons. But would comeback some other time and spend more time.
We had a very nice stay at "On the road again". We received a very nice welcome and we were showed where to park and where all the amenities were located. We had nice chat with our hostess upon our arrival and another chat with our host when leaving. Very nice place for the size of our rig.
We had a quiet stay in a level site in a beautiful location. We had a short lovely visit and felt us welcome. The hosts were nice to meet. They traveled a week ago in our country by bike from Amsterdam to Gent. It was a beautiful trip they told us. We like to travel in Canada too.
Lovely, hospitable couple in a beautiful location.
Recommend this dock!
We found ourselves in North Bay on our way across Canada and were lucky enough to spend a night with Joan and Murray as they were quick to respond to our request to stay. Their beautiful house on the lake lends itself to peaceful rest and relaxation. Both Murray and Joan are wonderful conversationalists having been long time educators and travellers. Though we wanted to go our whole 41 day trip without plugging in and relying upon solar, we needed a bit of a boost and they were quick to offer us a plugin. We hope to meet up with them again some time in the future.
