No vehicle mechanic skills though.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

We camp all over the US and Canada, mostly Eastern, because of distance and time constraints, but we do love the West as well. We prefer State Parks, and campgrounds in the National Park Service, the National Forest Service, the Core of Engineers, etc. We are also quite happy boondocking without hookups.

Trog's Hometown

Blacksburg is in the mountains of SW Virginia, a very scenic location with exceptionally good and varied opportunities for virtually all types of outdoor activities. It is also the home of Virginia Tech, one of the nation's premier universities and most beautiful campuses.

Trog's Rig

We prefer small, molded fiberglass travel trailers. Our 4th and current trailer is a 17.5 ft Bigfoot from British Columbia. For its size, it's quite well outfitted, with a large refrigerator and separate freezer, 3-burner stove with oven, full marine bathroom with flush toilet and shower, double and single beds, ducted furnace, everything we could possibly need. So far we have never had a television in our trailers, but at some point we may install one and hook it up to our built in antenna.

Great Place!

We stayed one night with Walt and Lynn in Blacksburg, VA and they were truly great hosts. We went out to eat and we toured the VT campus saw the building where Walt taught VT students Statistics for 28 years! The hill going up to there lovely home is too steep for a unit over about 25 feet but once you're up there the view is terrific. Thanks folks, Mike & Trish Chiles

Wonderful host, VERY peaceful place to sleep!

My wife, sister-in-law and I stayed one night in early June 2014. The place was well off the beaten path, very dark and so peaceful your ears hurt trying to listen to a noise. in addition, we were treated to the most beautiful show of fireflies we have ever seen. Fantastic!!! We have a truck camper and the driveway was very steep and had a pretty sharp curve about halfway up to the house.... Please make note of the RV size restriction because it is no joke! The parking site was very level with electricity and water and very private. We were very pleased with Trog's response to our initial message as well as the perfect description of the property. I only hope we can return the favor to him someday. Thanks again Trog!
