We have granddaughters on the west coast (CA) and on the east coast (MD) and after many years of driving cross country in an SUV decided we were tired of hotels and restaurants - AND we want to see more of the country and meet new people.
So we got an RV and absolutely love it. Since we got the RV in March 2019 we have put over 12K miles on it - traveling coast to coast and zig-zagging in between. We have found that it is exciting to find out of the way places and meet friendly folks from all over. We typically have avoided tourist type areas although there is so much beauty we have yet to see!
We are very quiet however Hubby is a musician and likes to travel with a fiddle, mandolin or guitar. I enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine and a jigsaw puzzle. We do enjoy meeting our hosts and chatting to learn about them but also understand that sometimes they enjoy their privacy as well, and we respect that.
Excited to Boondock - we plan to do a mix of State/National Parks, BLM land, COE Campgrounds, and with BW Hosts!
We are friendly, love to chat but also respect other's privacy.
Husband is a musician and enjoys sharing his music when it is welcome.
I love to chat and share experiences that may be helpful - at age 65 I have plenty of experiences.
not at this time ;(
So many places - we do leave referrals whenever we are a guest and have totally enjoyed every BW Host location we have been to!
We travel between California and Maryland. Our hometown is originally near Baltimore, MD but with granddaughters on both coasts we have two homes. Now that we have an RV we feel like we have three homes ;-)

EveSings-HiltonFiddles were lovely guests. It was misty and rainy weather while they were here which limited the amount of time we had to sit out and chat. Also we didn't get a chance to hear him play his fiddle which was disappointing. They are more than welcome to stay again whenever they are in the area.
Great guests. Shared many stories and Hilton’s fiddle. Hope they return.
Interesting and helpful couple full of good info about Boondockers Welcome. Would host again anytime.
Hilton fiddles indeed! We were blessed with an impromptu (social distancing) opportunity to listen to Hilton fiddle on our porch. Friendly, kind and respectful of our property; they even picked some fresh veggies to go. Traveling off the beaten path from MD to CA. Hope they stop by Shalamar Farm again, enjoyed their stories.
Enjoyed our short visit. They liked the dog, hummingbirds and frogs.
We’ve not been BW hosts long, Eve and Hilton were our 10th guests. While all our experiences thus far have been positive with friendly and respectful visitors, without reservation they were the most amazing couple we have hosted yet. It is hard to capture all the facets of their visit but certainly the most enjoyable was having them join us on the front porch for stories and some fiddle playing by Hilton Hilton’s passion for art and music along with his remarkable knowledge of history of the tunes was impressive. His telling of his life experiences as a professional musician and some of the famous musicians he associated with was enthralling. It was also a joy to see what a wonderful loving couple Eve and Hilton were. As with all one night visits, and especially this one, we were sorry that our time together was limited. We do hope that should their cross country trips between Maryland and California bring them close to us again that we would be honored to host them again, again, again, again.....
They arrived at the exact time they stated. Really nice people. Not much socializing because of COVID concerns but I look forward to doing that another time if they stay again or we meet on the road. Great people!
Enjoyed having them stay with us and looking forward to seeing them again soon.
These very friendly folks were great company when they visited us. We enjoyed their stay. They are welcome back anytime.
Had so much fun with both of you. Eve pitched in moving horse panels and Hilton entertained us with humor and music. I hope to see you again in the future.
Eve, Hilton and Sunny Dog were very friendly. I enjoyed the short visit I had with them but was disappointed I missed out on hearing Hilton play a little music. I hope they make it back here on another trip through.
Did not get a chance to visit with EveSings-HiltonFiddles as their stay was so brief. They are always welcome guest.
Such nice folks. We were glad to host them for Christmas and we had such a nice visit.
Very warm and personable. Down to earth people.
Great conversation and jamming to some fiddle tunes.
They and Sunny are welcome here anytime they're in the neighborhood.
Had a fun and entertaining time.....love the music, we will keep that a secret, LOL
Ya'll hurry back anytime, great memories !
safe travels and enjoy
My husband welcomed them in and showed them where to set up. I missed them but they left everything in great shape and we would welcome them back anytime.
Enjoyed the company of H & E. Very nice people who were very quiet, respectful guests. They are welcome back anytime. Thanks for tuning the fiddle and for the jar if salsa!
Nice campers, friendly and would welcome them back any time.
Really enjoyed talking with them actually thought we had relatives that we both knew. Very enjoyable guest they are welcome back anytime.
Even though this couple needed to cancel their stay due to family obligations they honored the Boondockers Code of updating their communication with us in a timely fashion so with that being said they are certainly welcome to stay with us at a future date if their plans allow for that. Safe travels through all your life's adventures.
