We replaced our older truck camper with a new Northstar Laredo SC in 2018. Then I retired in May 2019 after a career in the livestock nutrition business. Since I retired we have traveled to Canada (NW Ontario) to do some fishing, upstate New York and Vermont, and also explored Missouri to New Mexico. In our travels we enjoy hiking, museums and general sightseeing. We haven't put bicycle racks onto our camper yet but expect to in the future. We pull a 17ft boat when we're going fishing.
We are currently traveling with our 18 year old cat, Pippi. This is the first time she has traveled and it's taken some adjustments for all of us. She doesn't like to leave the camper.
In my first six months of retirement we spent 94 nights in the camper. We are still learning how to pack etc for the longer trips. I'm in the process of switching to lithium batteries in our camper.
Our 18 year old cat, Pippi, is currently travel with us. We lost our older cat in 2018 and don't feel like we shouldn’t leave Pippi home by herself with the neighbor checking in on her. She doesn't like to leave the camper. She goes between the litter box in the back seat of the truck and the bed in the camper.
Porterfield, Wisconsin. An hour north of Green Bay and bordering on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Dodge Ram 2500 club cab longbox with Northstar Laredo SC. We're fully self contained and have a solar panel. We pull a 17 ft boat if we are going on a fishing trip.
Weather was bad when they came, but they came around 7 and left before I was up. No messes no drama. Would gladly host again
We enjoyed the company of the njoylifeinwis. They have a small rig, needed nothing and barely left tracks. Very nice people.....safe travels.
Our stay was short, but very enjoyable. Easy to get to coming from the Upper Penninsula and very quiet. The hosts were very welcoming, and allowed great conversation outside on their deck. We will be back if we’re in the area again.
Great stay with beautiful sunrise and a level driveway. Hosts were wonderful and even gave tips on where to go and Michigan and some maps.
My stay at Buttercup Brook was short and sweet! I was greeted when I arrived with lots of helpful information and hospitality! It was a great place to relax for the evening, I would love to stay again!
Our hosts were very helpful and personable. Easy to find and the level spot was a bonus. Made for a perfect stop on our way from MI to northern WI. Only our second BW experience. Looking forward to more like this.
We enjoyed our stay at Buttercup Brook. The hosts were friendly and interesting to talk with and we found that we had much in common. The location was close to the main highway and having electricity was convenient.
This was our second BW - the Hosts were fantastic despite the COVID 19 concerns. We enjoyed happy hour on their deck and swapped travel experiences. And they loved our nomad cats!
Thank you for your hospitality and such a comfortable stay.
The hosts met us when we arrived and we where able to chat for a while before settling in for the evening. We talked about where we were heading next and some of our travels and theirs and they had a wealth of suggestions on places to go and see as we continued our travels. They even typed up And printed a page with points of interest that they gave us in the morning before we left. If you’re in the area we would highly recommend a stop at njoylifeinwis.
I had a lovely time meeting and talking with the gracious host couple in their warm kitchen. The parking spot for my van was level and handy to an electrical outlet as well! The nearby creek is pretty and would be lovely in the summer.
