I was originally a Electrician, but after many years of construction I went back to school to get my Engineering Certificate. I worked for the Dept. of National Defense for 34 years first as an Electrical Engineer, working my way up to the department manager. My wife and I were avid boaters for many years travelling in Georgian Bay mainly, but sold our boat beginning of 2019 to start travelling in our 21 foot Chinook motor home. We enjoy boondocking as it is very close to the way we traveled in our boat, and are always looking for locations to boondock for a few days at a time. We enjoy talking to people who have been RVing to see where they have been and where they are traveling to. We like the warm weather so will be heading south for part of the winter hoping to meet great people as we boondock our way. In 2020 we upgraded to our new two us 2008 29 ft Holiday Rambler Atlantis Class C, which we love. Unfortunately in 2018 my wife was diagnosed with Dementia which makes it a little hard to travel as much as we would like but we are still hosting and travelling a little. Please just know that she does not always understand things like she should and if you are alright with that we would love to host you or be a guess at your location.
Electrical and general handy man as well as general knowledge of the area.
To date we have not found any real great sites but we are always looking for Crown Land to boondock at.
Our home town is New Lowell, Ontario, Canada. We are about 30 mins North West of Barrie, 25 mins from Collingwood, 30 Mins from Blue Mountain and 15 mins from Wasaga Beach. It is a quiet little rural town and I have lived here all my life.
2008 Holiday Rambler Atlantis, Class C Motorhome. We sometime tow a 6 ft enclosed trailer to carry our chairs, BBQ, etc as well as my electric bike.
We enjoyed our visit, great folks, very respectful and a real pleasure to host. They are welcome to return.
Richard and his wife were easy to have around. We enjoyed chatting with them and found them very respectful of our space too. The campsite was left just as they found it. They are welcome back anytime!
Very friendly sociable folks, they're welcome back anytime!!
Our guests made a very positive impression on us with their friendly and informed chats. We are pleased to recommend them as guests to Boondockers Welcome.
Excellent Guests. Friendly, quiet couple. Great conversations with them, hope they will come again soon. Welcome anytime.
Really enjoyed this couple. Had good conversations.
Have them back anytime.
Loved our quiet one night sleep in this rural location with friendly hosts
They were super hosts. Very friendly and helpful getting us set up for the night.
We contacted them last minute and they were more than happy to allow us to stay for 2 nights. We loved being close to Wasaga Beach and close to Barrie. We visited briefly with them since we were quite busy during our stay. It was fun to exchange stories about RVing and get to know them a little bit.
We would stay there again!
We had a big community of a baseball team needed a place to stay and they welcomed us into their yard. We had great conversations and appreciate their hospitality. Will definitely be thinking about staying again when we return to the wasaga area to stay!!! Big thank you!
Friend and I booked both sites at this location during a baseball tournament weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased. Very friendly and so accommodating to anything we needed. The spot was beautiful with a great amount of space. I would 100% recommend booking this location if you are going to be in the area!
Our stay at Quite Rural Location was great!
This location is on a very quiet street & huge lot.
We arrived after dinner & had time to chit chat with our host swapping RV & travel stories & suggestions.
Our host could not have been nicer. We hope our paths cross again one day 😃
Very Very comfortable stay. Host met us on arrival making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you very much.
Nice rural location to stay. Big backyard and very quiet. Richard is a wonderful host with a wealth of rich experiences to share. We felt this was a great location for us to hit Blue Mountain and hike the Bruce Trail.
We were really happy with our hosts! They were so welcoming and it’s a great spot! We would definitely come again! Thank you!
Very nice hosts and a very accessible spot to park on their property. I was even given some cookies at check-in!
A nice quiet small town with fantastic autumn scenery in the region. A relaxing stay that I hope to repeat next year to explore more of their of area. Thanks again!
These two are quite simply the nicest people you’ll ever meet. We enjoyed chatting with them, they have done so many interesting things and they were so kind to us.
Their property is beautiful and there is so much to see and do in the area.
We had a wonderful stay.
We appreciated our warm welcome, and visit on the patio. Lovely couple, very friendly and knowledgeable. Would stay again if in the area, and would love to host them in return.
A nice quiet spot to stay for a few days.
My hosts were very, very nice to allow me to stay and use a little electricity to help with the night time temperatures.
Because of COVID -19 we were considerate of each other and maintained our social distancing. I enjoyed our brief chats and hope to met up again.
Had a quite nice stay at their property. And shared some stories at the patio.
