I have been married for 25 years to my high school sweetheart. We are from FL and have 2 college age daughters who are attending Universities in VA & RI. We used to tent camp in younger days, so I recently convinced my husband that a travel trailer would be the best way to travel to and from their schools and see some sights along the way. Although I am currently a portrait and real estate photographer, my love of photography came from my love of lighthouses & waterfalls and stopping to capture them whenever we're on the road.
We have limited RV skills as this is all new to us. My husband is a welder and I am a photographer.
We have a beautiful Belgian Malinois named, Rizzo, that we adopted. We love all dogs and lost our Boston Terrier a couple of years ago. We also care for our youngest daughters bunny, Oliver, while she's away at school, but he won't be traveling with us.
We are from St. Petersburg, FL
Ford F350 pulling a Shadow Cruiser with 1 slidout. On occasion we will be traveling to and from our daughter's college, (to move home & back) in these cases she may be following us in her own vehicle and we would need her to have a place to park her vehicle as well. I will indicate this when requesting a stay if it applies.
A very "down to earth " couple just seeking the same simple pleasures as most of us do . We were glad to accomodate their stay so they could explore the area to seek out their passion of seeing and visiting the Lighthouses in the area . This is a wonderful couple which we truly enjoyed having conversation with . My knowledge of welding was expanded through our conversations. They are welcome back anytime !
We were sad to see our guests leave. It was like hanging out with friends for a few days! Very friendly, kind and quiet. This is why we host boondockers! We’d have Empty Nesters back in a second!
I hosted EmptyNesters101 on Friday evening and morning of August 30th and morning of 31st. Due to approaching Hurricane Dorian they left earlier for their northern destination. Hopefully they will be able to find fuel as they travel north. I found them to be very friendly and appreciative of their host. They are welcome to return to my site any time they wish.
