I live in Alaska and have come to be a snowbird these past 5 winters. I spend the dark Alaskan months exploring the warm places in the lower 48 and visiting some of my 50 cousins scattered around many states. I drive a 98 Dodge Roadtrek 190 Popular. Not being mechanical, I have had to learn a lot to keep my camper going down the highway smoothly. I love to hike daily wherever I am and try to park and camp near lakes. I have a 7 pound Morkie (Maltese and Yorkie) who I travel with.
This past winter I drove down to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and spent 2 weeks in Ocean Springs. I enjoy the National Seashore Campground at Davis Bayou, where I have visited the past 4 years. The Texas Gulf Coast around North Padre Island is another favorite spot for me.
I have traveled in Africa, Argentina, Costa Rica, Indonesia, New Zealand, Mexico and Thailand. Some of my travels were done solo, which makes for many more experiences with locals than if you were with someone. I have a book floating around in my head and someday I will begin to get my notes on paper.
My Roadtrek is a 98 Dodge 190 Popular. That means it is almost 20 feet long. A van on steroids is what I have heard it called.......
