My husband and I hope to get on the road in a year or so. Sooner would be nice but I'm being realistic.
I'm a licensed massage therapist and have a business in my home. My hubby drives truck.
We love the outdoors and gardening. Taking good care of the environment is important to us. We choose a healthy life style and don't eat animals. Don't let that stop you from boondocking here on your way through. 🌈
Let us know what you need, we may be able to help.
We have 2 outdoor cats.
We haven't begun yet but will prefer country settings but know that won't always be an option and will be grateful for a driveway.
We live a couple miles east of Troy, PA. Small town on RT 6 between Mansfield and Towanda. 90 minutes from Watkins Glenn, NY and Ithaca and 60 minutes to Corning, NY.

After a difficult day of traveling the hosts met us graciously outside and helped us get set up for the night. The treats were such an added bonus! We arrived at dark so boy was it a real treat to wake up to their stunning property! The generosity and knowledge of the hosts was unmatched - even our dog fell in love. Groceries and gas mere minutes down the road. Be sure to stop at the Barnstead Pantry for sweets and spices.
We truly can’t thank you enough for your warm hospitality and generosity - if you ever find your travels coming through Massachusetts you’ll always have a space with us! :)
Great view of a wonderful property. Had a couple good conversations with Mark and Kay on there open air porch. Walked away with organic plums from their garden. Great hosts who enjoy people. Can’t recommend enough.
We fully enjoyed our stay with you including our evening chat on your deck during sunset overlooking the pond. Picturesque location looking towards the hills with windmills in the distance. Thank you for the plums. We had a very quiet, restful night. Beautiful sunrise as we were leaving this morning and deer grazing in the field less than a 1/4 mile from your home.
What a wonderfully quiet spot with amazing hosts. Thank you for hosting
We arrived after dinner and Kay and Mark greeted us and we had a wonderful time getting to know them on the patio. Beautiful blueberries and gardens and pond. We saw a deer and rabbits and met Rory, the cat. This morning we saw another cat down below. Very awesome place and we hope to return and to return the stay in Vermont. Slept peacefully!
We had a lovely welcome, and was really pleased to meet Kay and Mark. Just truly lovely people and a pleasure to talk to.
We hope to catch up with them on the road.
Highly recommend this place! Beautiful. 💚
Had a very comfortable stay. The host guided us to our spot and was gracious enough to give us a cord to hook up. The hostess came over in the morning to say hello and showed us their beautiful views. Enjoyed our stay.
I loved the setting of this country place nestled on top of a hill all by itself. I had a peaceful nights sleep ,drifting off to the bullfrogs croaking. The hosts were very accommodating and pleasant to talk to. We had much in common and I think I could learn much sitting and sharing our experiences. Live peaceful 😊✌
This is in the middle of rural Pennsylvania mountain country. A beautiful place to walk in the woods, watch remarkable sunsets and have deer as observing neighbors. Kay and Mark are friendly and have a lot of knowledge and life experience.
Got my hands dirty in the garden and worked out some muscles moving chopped wood as Mark worked a log splitter. Not a must as a visitor, but a nice reprieve from city life.
Halcyon Hill will definitely be a future stopover when traveling from Canada to South-Eastern states.
You will not ever find a better host or a more perfect location to overnight camp. A simply gorgeous spot with views of the surrounding hills and a lovely pond next to your camp spot with deer that come right up to your grassy site. The host even shared veggies from her massive garden. Wonderful experiences await you at this country paradise.
We had a great visit staying 1 nite. Kay_Mark met us at the chair after the uphill approach and we walked the way to a grassy site area looking west over their half acre pond. This was a blue sky day, big sunset, many stars visible, with almost a full moon where you see your shadow at nite! Very relaxing for the end of our Rt 6 trip. Kay_Mark were gracious hosts offering any help we would need. We had good conversations. Their property is beautiful atop a large hill off route 6. Kay toured us around, showed their 150+ blueberry bushes, projects, garden, etc. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their well kept property. The entrance is a bit steep, I would estimate 20-25 degrees, good gravel, maybe 300 yards to the chair. I was in 2 wheel drive with no problems. The ground was firm as it has been dry.
For us, this was a great visit as we were touring Rt 6 from the PA Grand Canyon and east.
Kay_Mark was a wonderful host! She met us as we drove in and showed us where to park. We had a beautiful spot overlooking her pond. We talked for a while and she showed us where to plug in and where to hook up to water. Their property is very private and gorgeous! We were able to sit outside and watch the sun set over the pond! In the morning she even brought us some freshly cut watermelon. I can’t say enough good things about Kay_Mark. I highly recommend staying here if you’re passing through! This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome and we are already hooked!
Kay made us feel very welcome. And the property is quiet, beautiful, and peaceful, a wonderful end to our vacation. Hope to stay here again!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay. Kay_Mark set the bar very, very high! Their property is beautiful and we were welcome to position our camper to take advantage of the view across the idyllic pond toward the hills beyond. Our host greeted us and walked us along the freshly cut path to the site, offered the (beyond boondocking) amenities they list, and encouraged us to relax and enjoy our stay. We had a peaceful, lovely time, enjoying the natural beauty including a beautiful sunset across the pond our last night.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Off the beaten path just enough to be quiet.
Kay and Mark were so hospitable. Went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
The property is so beautiful and peaceful.
I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for some peace and quiet.
They are pet lovers as well and were super accommodating to make sure that my dog's got off leash time.
What a nice place to stay. Kay gave me my choice of a few spots and I chose down by the pond. I had the area to myself as it was a little ways from the house. It was so peaceful and the pond was pretty especially at sunset. Lots of area to take walks around the yard or around the pond. Kay was a great host and we had good conversations even if it was from a distance as I stayed during lockdown. I was able to hook up to electric being plugged in at the barn. I was parked in grass and it was a little unlevel but with my level blocks it was nice and level. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend these hosts.
