Les is a travel nurse, I work at Pier 1 when I can through his travels. We are native Okies who have called Arkansas home for almost 30 years. Our stick home is in a small town outside Ft. Smith, AR. Our son and daughter in law live in the house. The only issue an RVer might have is that we have a long curved gravel drive accessed from a fairly narrow street. It takes some backing skill, and it's necessary to stay on the driveway because pulling into the yard is asking to get stuck. We have a lot of connections in the community in both Fort Smith and Lavaca, and the chief of police lives on corner down the street. It's typical small town life - several of the kids' teachers live within sight of our home, and we have many of the same neighbors we've had for 16 years. The lot is shaded in the evenings - there are numerous large oak trees. The biggest downside is that the mosquitoes are thick.
We have been home DIYers for a long, long time. Les is "smarter than the average bear" and Denise is seriously into all things domestic - especially gardening, crafting, and decorating.
We've never boondocked before! We spent the summer of '08 in California and would love to go back.
This current rig is a 32' Excel 5th wheel with a super slide. It belonged to Les' dad who bought it brand new in 1996. We bought it from him in 2009. It had been immaculately cared for - only used for vacations and stored indoors otherwise. Les' mom developed severe health problems within a couple of years of this purchase and this rig just didn't get much use. We have lived in it since 2010 in a rural park outside Tulsa, OK. The outside is exactly as it was when it was first purchased, but I am currently in the process of updating the decor inside.
