Alaskans that travel to the Continental US during the cold winter months in our 27' Airstream Globetrotter. We enjoy coffee, woodworking, the outdoors, hiking, biking, seeing new places, meeting new people and discovering new wineries/breweries. We have two adult daughters that have "flown the coop". We both have jobs that allow for some flexibility so a couple of years ago we started planning to buy a trailer and hit the road.
Ended up picking up our Airstream and Chevy Duramax and have been spending the winters seeing the country trying to find a place we might want to retire to.
We both work in Engineering and Construction so we are pretty mechanically inclined. When we are not working our real jobs we are typically woodworking or remodeling something. Don't mind pitching in to help if somebody really needs help.
We have a 2 year old English Cream Golden Retriever named Reese. She is ultimate travel dog as she is totally chill, is great with all dogs and loves everybody. Always ends up getting all the attention wherever we take her. Ultimate conversation starter.
To date our favorite places have been:
Paso Robles, CA. Unbelievably scenic.
Indian Peak Vineyards in Manton, CA. Owners were awesome. Shared their wine and their whiskey.
Homer, AK (right on the beach). Alaska views on a beach..."Fuhgetboutit"
Oregon Coast (Yachats)
Destruction Bay along the Alcan Highway
Our friends farm in Sherwood, OR. Right in the middle of Oregon Wine Country.
