Together with my husband we moved from Europe to PEI 10 years ago to find peace, space, quiet time and a life more connected to our surroundings and a bit back to basics. We grow our own veggies, love real food cooking and have honeybees. I have an artisan studio where I sculpt, paint and do all kinds of crafts and preserve our harvest of the garden while Frank safely brings kids to and from school and tends to the hobby farm in between.
All kinds of crafts, garden and honey bee information from experience as well as being able to communicate in English, French, Spanish, Dutch and some German.
We have 3 cats, a few chickens and of course our teens of thousands of bees....
We love dogs as well but are without one after losing Luckie....
Just starting.....
We live just outside of Crapaud to the North direction Kelly's Cross.
WOW not too many more words to describe this location. 1st your on a gorgeous farm approx 3 kms from the main highway, very quiet, parking location are huge and level, honey bees are GOOD bees and don t bother you, the 3 cats are excellent hunters, the 2 chicken you rarely see them, Our host Dina is a excellent artist that runs a small art studio, and Frank is an active bee keeper, school bus driver, and by the look of things believe they are both jacks of all trades. They are continuing to work at improving the farm and on this big green thing they call THE GRINCH which is a converted diesel truck that is now a gorgeous motor home. From the moment we met them we felt completely at home, safe and welcoming. Hospitality beyond exceptional and conversation were pleasant, educational and non stop. GREAT HOST and will definitely stay again when visiting PEI
We were here before and did enjoy our stay again at Meadowbrook. When you are on the island this is a great spot for an overnight, centrally located to explore the island and the hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome
Thanks again!!
Thanks meadowbrook for showing us your property and the bees.
We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon
The hardest part about this reference was trying to come up with the title it's not very often you get a chance to actually meet a beekeeper and learn all about the bees the honey the Queen's the eggs and anything about bees. Not to mention when will I get to leave a Beee reference for anyone. Anyway our hosts get an A for a reference this was probably one of my more favourite boondocking spots. They have a nice assortment of animals and bees and just a nice property to relax in general. My family and I felt completely at ease Around The Beekeeper and his wife and this visit was an eye-opener and very amazing for my whole family and yes if you're very good and he has some he will sell you some of the honey his bees make right off the farm it is amazing you will never find better honey the only other title to come up with kind of a poor one was hi honey I'm honeycomb. Thank you very much to our wonderful host for all the information on solar panels and bees and their general generous hospitality thank you again
Very good stories of trucking in Europe and Brenda enjoye her tour of the workshop.
Great hosts with a lovely hobby farm; interesting places to walk and explore; our hosts were fun to visit with and very knowledgeable about the area. Fresh eggs and home-grown tomatoes were a wonderful surprise in the morning. Wish we could have stayed longer, hope to make it back before we leave PEI. Thanx to both!
Very welcoming. A wonderful place to stay in a story book setting with lots artistic details in the garden. We had a engaging visit and tour of the studio.
We would definitely recommend Meadowbrook.
