In aviation, I am known as "Skychick" (www.Skychick.com) During the past 16 years, I've often spent entire summers "air-camping" which means flying my airplane into remote wilderness areas, landing on dirt or grass airstrips and solo camping under the wing. I've air-camped in virtually every state West of the Rockies bouncing from airstrip to airstrip while simultaneously testing and reviewing gear in the most extreme conditions...no power, no water, no roads, no 911.
I decided to explore the ground-based RV world and travel full-time for one year (which may turn into two since I'm loving it). Through photos, video and blogging, I've been documenting the same locations I had filmed from the air for a side-by-side aerial/ground view comparison. I selected a Lance 1575 travel trailer for the journey and spent three months customizing what some refer to as a "James Bond" rig.
I had zero experience with RVing when I departed in May 2019. Eight months and 23 states later, I've learned a lot and appreciate the help I've received from other RVer's. I've also watched a zillion RV YouTube videos! During the first four months, I stayed in RV, state and national parks until I found Boondockers Welcome...which I love! I've since mixed in Boondocker's homes along my route and made lifetime friendships with wonderful hosts across the country. Although I have traveled through 32 countries, I am endlessly fascinated with the diversity of culture and terrain that we have right here in the USA.
Workwise, I have been sponsored by Honda for the past five years and act as their ambassador for general aviation flying and camping. In 2019, we added to that partnership the "Skyway to Highway RV Adventure". My Honda generator powers the trailer and a Honda BF2.3 outboard motor powers an inflatable boat which I carry along to fish for dinner. Lastly, I have been a sales rep for "Motoart.com" for 10+ years. Motoart fabricates unique high-end corporate furniture using rare aircraft parts.
I am an author, video editor, pilot, scuba diver, skier, entrepreneur and general sports enthusiast.
Jeanette Lake, MN. It is spectacular.
I am a native of Southern California and the beaches (Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, CA) have been my home for the past 20 years. I've also lived in Central and Northern California.
I have a Lance 1575 Travel Trailer and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both in very nice condition.

Enjoyed SkyChick's stay. Her experiences have been interesting to say the least.
SkyChick is a very interesting, respectful and independent lady who handles her rig easily and had everything she needed. I was fortunate to have some time to enjoy her vibrant company and found we were kindred spirits following different paths of adventure! (hers far more adventurous than most!) Lovely lady we were happy to host...but if we hadn't had time to chat, she would have been happy quietly communing with nature and checking out the animals. So glad to have met this accomplished inspirational woman!
