Shawn and I have been married 27 years in 2019. We have been traveling in our RV for the last 5 years and fell in love with the idea of Boon-dockers Welcome! We love to meet new people from all over; we are excited to create new friendships along the way. We love "lake life" and take full advantage of the beautiful sunsets that SD has to offer. We have 2 children who are now adults. Our daughter is a senior at the University of Lincoln NE where she is pursuing a degree in Forensic Science. Our son lives on property with us in his own cabin and watches over our properties and business while we are traveling.
Skills? Well my husband has lots of skills! He is a do-it-yourself kind of dude. He can fix almost anything, or at least he will try. He loves to talk about farming, RV-ing, camping, hunting, outdoor activities, food, and especially the tool he invented! We travel the USA going to trade shows where we sell the Air Filter Cleaner tool. www.airfiltercleanersd.com. We live in SD and he loves to pheasant hunt. We own 1000 acres of farm land with food plots for hunting.
Myself....I am sorta a hippie at heart. I want to plant my own garden next year (if I am home enough to see that through) . I love the idea of always having fresh produce. I love the outdoors and hate being inside! I enjoy the simple things like fresh air, sunsets, Interior design, eating outdoors, foodie, ATV rides, boat rides, dogs, campfires and occasionally a glass of wine or a couple beers.
We have 2 dogs!
Charlie is our 3 legged Border-Beagle service dog who just turned 10 years old this year. He is very love-able and kind.
Then their is OZZY, he pretty much stays true to his name and is a little crazy. By crazy, I mean high energy and will make his appearance known. Once he meets you, he is more relaxed but does think he is a guard dog. He is a Mini Australian Shepard and will be 2 years old in October 2019. If any of you have owned an Aussie...you know what I'm talking about. He is very playful and we make sure to keep him on leash if we are at your property. I like to go on lots of walks with my dogs, and use a doggy stroller for my Old boy Charlie, since he tires easily with only 3 legs.
Both of our dogs travel with us and absolutely LOVE it!
We both graduated high school in Woonsocket, SD. Shawn graduated in 1987 and myself in 1986. We both furthered our education after high school. Shawn graduated from USD University of SD and I from Southwest State University in Marshall, MN.
2005 Newmar Dutch Star Coach RV Our tow vehicle is subject to change depending on trip. We tow a Ford Windstar Minivan, a Cadillac Escalade EXT truck, and sometimes a little green Ford Fiesta.
Our stay was very nice. We didn't get to meet the hosts but property was well maintained and quiet.
As described; our stay was a pleasant respite from the business of traveling. Gracious hosts, and the facilities were ample!
I didn’t get the opportunity to meet our hosts due to inclement weather; however, they were readily available and helpful via text.
The location was a little too remote, but the host was lovely. It was a little difficult getting in and out with the mud, but we appreciated the Host’s hospitality.
The hosts are so kind and welcoming! So thankful to have full hook ups! The property is lake front with a stunning view! The area is so peaceful! Thank you for the wonderful stay, would absolutely stay again!
The hosts were terrific. Great space, full service sites. Peaceful setting. Couldn't ask for more!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome spot. We stayed for 2 nights. This place and its owners are incredible. Some of the nicest and most hospitable people we’ve met in all of our travels. Thank you guys for opening your home to our family and treating us so well!
This could not have been a better first time experience with Boondockers Welcome! It was great meeting these wonderful hosts and staying on their lake property for a few days. They were friendly and easy going people who made us feel very welcome and at home. They even recommended a mobile RV guy and cute little campground to stay at on the way to our next destination. This is an excellent boondocking spot with magnificent sunsets, brilliant stars, and spectacular views. It really was a lovely place to spend a few days. We would love to return to this quiet and peaceful location someday and highly recommend it to fellow travelers.
Easy to get to off 90, fantastic view! Easy parking and full 30 amp hookup available
The hosts here are amazing people. Very friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. A short drive to Mitchell SD. The sites are clean and we'll maintained. You have a view of the lake as well. Cannot say enough good things about this site and these hosts. Would stay here again for sure.
