We are Gary and Rhonda. We have raised our family of five boys near Lansing, Michigan (in Laingsburg - aka "the burg"). We enjoy "quiet living" - across the street from Lake Victoria - and 3 miles from Sleepy Hollow State Park. We have taken our vintage RV on a couple out of state trips, one to the New England area and one to the upper Midwest are, visiting many microbreweries and state parks. We are still ironing out the kinks and learning the ropes. So if anyone has advice - feel free.
None - still learning!
We have a Bengal cat, Stella, who travels fairly well.
We have visited wine country near Traverse City and have stayed in Holland and Ludington near Lake Michigan. We have also stayed at nearby Sleepy Hollow State Park.
We have a 1986 Astro Van Allegro (21 ft). The first thing I did was make a new tire cover (the original was in shreds) from remants of vinyl I had - voila! - introducing the "Peace-mobile". Needless to say there are lots of brown and orange furnishings and a retro metal "peace sign" wall art (a gift from one of our sons and his wife).
we did not have a lot of time, but was nice talking with them. very considerate guests.
Stayed just one night. Didn't get a chance to visit.....
Hope they stop again with more time to visit.
We have been so fortunate this summer to have a few boondockers staying with us. And bella mimi have been added to the list of great people.
It seems that time is always an issue (not enough).
We enjoyed having this couple at our farm and we can hardly wait to visit them in Michigan. Great guests make great hosts!
Originally bella_mina was a second choice as they were more than an hour east of our destination but our stay turned out to be the highlight of our weekend. The spot designated for our RV was perfect. Unable to meet us upon arrival they had assured us we could make ourselves comfortable on their patio and enjoy their wonderful back yard. They were such welcoming and gracious hosts and now new friends. Definitely a positive and memorable stay.
Gary & Rhonda are the epitome of Boondockers Welcome hosts! Extremely well traveled, these two are warm, gracious, accommodating, and fun loving, and these are just a few of the adjectives to describe them! They took us in on only a couple of hours notice and we stayed for 2 nights. Their lovely host site near their home is a level concrete spot that’s shaded, private, quiet, and has access to both electric and water. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these two and look forward to keeping in touch with them in the hopes that we may see them on the road again in the future!
